Chapter 15
Last Test
Mathew knocked on the door and stepped in after a short,"Enter", that came from the other side. Inside, Leader Niona sat behind her desk, with Trimen behind her. Lounging around the room was Cassiel, Mark and Sifo Dias. Mathew sat down in a chair next to Mark and Niona began.
"Trimen and I both believe that all of you are ready for your final test. As you all know, before you can be named a full Bentarin, you must past a test decided by me. To be honest, it matters not whether you five are ready or not, you are the only ones we have who can do this mission."
Niona stopped when Cassiel raised her hand and with an annoyed look Trimen asked,"What, Cassiel?" She quickly replied, asking,"You said five of us. Is the Master of Magic going with us?"
"Unfortunately, I can not join you on this, for my duties hold me here. The fifth is Santhari. While she can not fit into this room she is aware of what is happening through the eyes of Mathew."
"Anyways", continued Niona,"Two years ago we sent a goblin named Arabus to the Wizard's tower to get a book that we need. This book holds the knowledge that we need to re-close the boundary. Since he has not returned I have to assume something went wrong. It will be your jobs to take up his mission. But, this is not you only goal."
"You have two side missions. One, go to the leaders of each kingdom you pass through and try and convince them to send troops or any other aid that they can to us."

"If they do not willingly send troops for training or resources inform them that their borders will get no protection from the monsters of the boundary. Some lives might be lost but it is necessary. Your second goal is to pick up any people along the way that you believe would become a good Bentarin and bring them back for training."
"Now then, go pack and prepare to leave tomorrow morning. Mathew will be team leader and he may choose his second in command. Be careful and good luck."
Slightly stunned the four stepped out after the obvious dismissal and stood in the hallway for a second. Each new that their training was supposed to last at least another eight years and the sudden jump up the ranks was shocking.
After they all recovered from the shock they went to pack. Cassiel headed off towards the woman's dorms and Mathew and Mark went to the men's dorm. Sifo Dias went off in a random directions probably having another one of his strange episodes.
"This sounds fun. A chance to see more of this world. I bore of this city, it is causing cramps in my legs", came Santhari's thoughts to Mathew. They continued to talk with each other as he walked and her thoughts rolled over each other, barely finishing before she continued the next.

As the door closed behind them Trimen said silently,"Why didn't you tell them?" Without turning around Niona replied,"It would not have changed anything. I told them what they needed to know."
"And your sure they will run into him?", he asked, stepping in front of her. "Without a doubt", came her reply.
