Chapter 16
Eldarin
Mathew found himself and his three companions riding horses on the west highway to the capital of Idlan, Eldarin. Santhari was flying somewhere of to the north with exuberant glee.
Mathew fingered the small necklace around his neck. It was a small silver medallion on a leather thong. Engraved into the medal was a ne tang and staff crossing each other. Each of them was given one by Leader Niona before leaving the city.
Leader Niona, Trimen and Nate had been waiting for them at the edge of the city. Mathew hadn't seen Nate in a while. He occasionally had been in the main city, but most of the time was gone on one mission or another. He was standing decidedly close to Leader Niona, as he always did when in the city.
Santhari flew closer and then landed and walked beside them. The horses, having been around her many times before, were not bothered by the sight of the gigantic beast.
"Mathew", came Mark's voice,"There are riders up ahead." Mathew replied without bothering to look,"We are on the great highway Mark. Of course their will be other riders." Sounding defensive Mark answered,"Thats not what I mean. I don't think others will be used to the sight of a dragon and will probably freak out."
"Is there something wrong with my form", came Santhari's thoughts in Mathew's mind. His reply was instant,"No, we are simply worried that you will scare them." She seemed to think for a while and then replied,"If it is a problem then I will fix it." Suddenly here body started to shimmer and then in her place stood a small girl. A very n@ked, little girl. Mathew and Mark both spun their horses around, red faced, Sifo Dias didn't seem to notice. Cassiel laughed slightly then dismounted. Mathew could hear the sound of a cloak being taken from a pack and then heard Cassiel say,"You two can look now." The little girl looked like a human but was slightly strange. (not finished)
