The explanation of the different magics was pretty cool. Very nice chapter.
One sentence that confused me: "Mathew went down the same hallway as Mark with Santhari did a kind of dance down the hallway in front of him."
Generally, after a preposition (with, at, by...) you don't use a verb. I think you meant: "Matthew went down the same hallway as Mark, with Santhari doing a kind of dance down the hallway in front of them." <-- I'm assuming Santhari is dancing in front of both of them. If you use "him," it's hard to tell whether you're talking about Mark or Matthew.

So I beat the president of chick-fil-a today at ping pong. Score was 21-8. I will probably be adding another chapter tomarrow. To tired to write it right now. Just got back from a party.
Edit: He has an awesome house.

Chapter 11
Training
Mathew got smacked by the sword again after trying to parry the blade. It was the second day of his training and it was not going well. He spent almost the whole day yesterday with the boy Mark. He had been woken up early and spent about two hours with the boy working on reading. After that they ate breakfast and then went to weapon training. He spent hours with the Head of Weapons with many different weapons do decide which he would be best at. He found he was best with a special weapon named ne tangs. It was a short, curved blade with a slight hook on the back end. They were made to backwards to a normal sword with the hooks pressed to the arm.
After he had spent an hour with the ne tangs he was told he would have to practice with a blade since it was one of the most common weapons and would undoubtedly be needed eventually. It was obvious he had no skill with the blade but they persisted that he must do his best to learn it. Mark hadn't had much luck with the blade either, he preferred to use a quarter staff.
While Mathew had worked with the ne tangs, Mark had practiced with his quarter staff and then they had gone through forms with the sword together. From there they had gone to lunch. After which they spent an hour with the Master of Medicines. She taught them about different herbs and what each would do. She had also made them take doses of poison, informing them that they would need to build a tolerance to these poisons.
The liquid she made them drink looked and tasted nasty and left them both shivering and sweaty for the next two hours.
After the had left the Master of Medicine they had gone to Trimen. He had them study rune sheets to understand what combinations of runes would do what. It went slowly because Mathew often had to have Mark read out something to him to understand what that combination of runes did.
Once they were finally done there, they had gone to dinner and then had the rest of the afternoon off.

Mark had hurried off somewhere so Mathew walked the city with Santhari. Once they had returned he went to his room to sleep with Santhari curled up beside him.
Today the Master of Weapons had informed him they would be training with the sword first but first gave Mark and him new clothes to change into. After seven pants and two pairs of shoes of Mark's and three pants and one shoe of Mathew's were burned through, Leader Niona decided to give them some fire proof clothes.
Santhari enjoyed sending small bursts of flame at Mark when he got to comfortable around Mathew. She said that the ones aimed at him where on accident but Mathew wasn't so sure of it. Either way, Mathew found himself in itchy clothes being repeatedly smacked by a dulled sword blade.
