"Have they *really* put it at the back of their minds? I mean, that was traumatizing! Seriously, really traumatizing! It was something out of a nightmare! How can they look so strong now?" Levantris turned to her and said,
"They've had experience. Remember, these men have had to kill innocents. They can be hardy, and yet very strange at times as well."
"Oh. Oh, yeah." Sonia looked down at the wet ground, which squished with water as she stepped through it. She recalled that Levantris had done exactly what O'Hinal had done, and that she was still alive because of his insecurity and whatever other reason he may have had for not killing her since they had met again.
But since no one had known that Levantris had done such a thing except for Sonia, and she wasn't going to tell anyone in the gang about it. After all, even if it had been by a *thief*, he was the one who saved her life.
Still, she wondered if her destiny was worth trying to figure out... After all, she had ended up *leading* them in one of their most prominent missions in their history. In fact, she had pretty much been *forced* to do this, since she was surrounded by men who knew how to fight, even if it wasn't very good. But in the last couple of days, the emotion that she would've used to resist them was negated and then bound, gagged, and thrown into a dungeon deep inside her heart.
As a result, she had gotten used to the rough treatment and the fact that she was working for what she had always hated.
And indeed, she would've hated it and sobbed right there on the spot, but the emotion was gone. It was replaced by a rather wispy, fake feeling that seemed to pose as a replica of the real thing, to keep her from turning emotionless like Levantris.
"Well, how much longer is it to the portal that gets us to Jipalar Warehouse?" Sonia looked up, and to her surprise, her voice was calm and collected, as if it was completely ready for a big showdown.
