Sonia yelled in Ralph's direction, and the tent's top was ripped off furiously by the screaming storm, and then proceeding to tear the other side of the tent in half like a crack down a fault.
"Oh my... Guthix help us..." Ralph whispered as he still kept up that side of the tent, which acted as a less-than-effective shield against the white barrage of water. Vinnin could see that the other tents had already been mutilated and blown away, and that the gang members were holding on each other to make sure that they all wouldn't be lost.
The water and wind got to their worst, as everything seemed to turn to a bazooka of neverending white mist and white water bullets flying sideways across the plain. At this point, no one could see their hand in front of their face due to the storm, and all grabbed onto their hopes and prayers to try and survive through the insanity. The wimpy, drenched tent piece that Ralph was trying to hold up in front of his group gave up and flew over him, disappearing into the white miasma.
"Give it all you've got, for your life's sake!! We can't let this beat us!! If we do, there's no more treasure hunts for us!!!" Ralph shouted at the top of his lungs, but he couldn't hear it that well over the wind that pinned him to the flooded ground in a matter of seconds. Levantris had disappeared in the rain, and Vinnin clung to the ground, his fingers digging into and trying to clench the mud as hard as he could. Sonia would've opened her mouth to scream, but the water was enough of a dictator to tell her that if she did so, she'd choke on what went down her throat.
Sonia, pinned to the ground and digging into the ground like Vinnin was doing, began to think about what would become of everyone when they died. What would happen to the Black Arms? Would O'Hinal try something fiendish with the remainder of the gang and somehow take over it?

Would anyone miss her because she was gone, other than the few people who had seemed to care for her, like Reitar and Thessalia?
Why was all this happening? Was it the gods' cruel will for this? Or was this totally out of their command?
"It's not that. Just some stupidity." A voice that sounded like hers rang out, clear as a bell in her head. It seemed to calm her, if only a little among the chaos of the scene at hand.
The rain gasped and choked in the middle of its rampage, and the hiccup in the rain was noticeable to everyone as everything stopped for half a second and then started back up again, trying to keep its hard, cold grip on them.
"No. You don't have any more control over us. Shut up, you miserable soul." The voice in Sonia'* head said, as if it was insulting the storm's integrity and power. Sonia felt like that it *was* her, but yet it somehow wasn't. She liked the powerful feeling it gave her, and it gave her more courage to keep on surviving through the storm.
To everyone's surprise, the rain hiccupped again, and the hiccupping became more frequent until the rain just threw up one last gush of water onto everyone, cleansing any physical dirtiness off of them, and then turned into a mere drizzle. The sky was beginning to clear, and the clouds were white and weak as they began to push themselves sadly off behind the water-logged group, who finally began to break apart from the groups, the usually elastic and skin-tight clothes nearly torn off of them from the storm's wrath. Some plopped over into the water, uncaring that they were probably sinking themselves into bacteria-ridden water, while others got on their shaky knees and thanked the gods that they were alive.
"Man. I don't know. I don't know what to say except I so totally thank whoever saved us from that nightmare."

Ralph was sitting in the water, his eyes looking at the murky water and the little yellow spikes coming out of it from the grass, which was either rejoicing or screaming from all the recent rainfall.
Levantris was standing, and removed his hood, which was draped over his head. His normally spiky hair was all down and covering his head, and still retained that strange hybrid color.
He looked like someone else with his hair washed down by the rain, although after he managed to set it aside from his face, everyone could still see the same usual look on him, the emotionless one that had probably forgotten the storm already.
"Is everyone alright? Or at least alive?" He called out, and the sound of his voice, loud and clear, calmed some of the more exasperated gang members, some of which were still lying in the water. Groans and moans and murmurs came from the gang, and almost all who were lamenting on the flooded ground stood up and shook themselves weakly.
Ralph walked over to some of the thieves that were still on the ground. He kicked them softly with his black boot, but none of them responded, not even with a shiver or a girlish cry. They just lay there like vegetables in Rogue Armor, taking in more murky water. What made things look worse is that their bodies were pressed in in certain places, and bones that would've been in their rightful places were now jumbled around, some even sticking out like brownish-white arrows.
"Oh, snap. These guys didn't make it..." Ralph turned them over and removed the masks from their faces, and then placing the masks in the water next to those who had died, the lonely mask looking sad and unwanted now that its owner had passed away. The majority of those who had died were skinny, bony thieves who probably had not been able to withstand the torrential battering of the storm.
"Where's Rei, man?!" Vinnin called out to Ralph. He was staying in one spot, crouched down so as to not set Sonia off again.

Ralph shot a glimpse at Vinnin and then moved through the rest of the thieves, who looked around to try and find Reitar'* body. They searched and searched, occasionally having to dig through the murky water, but no one could find Reitar'* body.
"Vinnin... Um... I think he either got blown or washed away somehow. He was lying out there the whole time, wasn't he?"
Vinnin growled softly and then clenched his fists together, his eyes shut tightly.
"Yes, Ralph. Yes." he said it slowly and with remorse, although it was still loud. He looked like he was about to burst out in either rage or sadness, or probably a combination of both.
"Vinnin. Before you explode, remember we still have a job to do. If you *must* mourn, do it when we get back to the hideout, ok?" Levantris walked over and looked down at Vinnin, who opened his eyes, which were red with sadness. No tears flowed down, at least any that anyone could see, as he was already wet.
"We only have an hour or so before sunset. We *have* to get to the portal *as fast as we can* now!" Levantris turned from Vinnin and called out to the gang, who was now beginning to regain their composure. Although they were wet like a group of deep-sea fish, they began to look like a group of thieves again.
"It doesn't matter if your stuff or bags got blown away. We can find a way to get the goods from Jipalar to the hideout. We've got that kind of power, right?!" Levantris shouted louder, and the gang nodded more robustly and raised their arms in the air, with a shout of agreement.
"Then let's get outta here! We're wasting time!" Levantris shouted again, and the gang responded with a shout, fully convinced that they could do this, despite what had just happened.
"Umm... This is probably the most awkward time to say this, but Vinnin's clothes are probably gone too. What's he gonna wear other than that stupid loincloth?"

Ralph said out loud, and Sonia got up from the ground and yelled at him, having to constantly push her hair back.
"I don't want to think about that, ok?! But still, you better make sure he gets a real outfit to wear by the time we get inside Jipalar, or else people are going to freak out when they see him looking like a jungle native. Got it?!" Sonia pointed at Ralph, almost touching his nose, and he looked down at her finger with a look of surprise.
"Ok, I got it. Vinnin. You heard her, right?" Ralph pointed over Sonia at Vinnin, who was still in his crouching state. He nodded, and then Levantris waved his hand to get the gang back in their normal formation, which they did so promptly. They looked amusing, as some of them had to lift their feet out of the water every time they made a step, while others just moved through it without really worrying about it.
Vinnin had been placed in the very middle of the group, since he stuck out like a piece of bacon in the middle of a lot of charcoal. Sonia walked at the very front this time, along with Levantris.
"That was a decent command you gave to Vinnie back there, Sonia." Levantris remarked, looking ahead to more of the flooded plain instead of at Sonia.
"Right, whatever. I never really liked him, and... I don't even want to talk about it. Let's just get there and get this over with so we can put it all behind us." Sonia responded bitterly, listening to the swishing and swashing of the gang as they moved through the watery grassland. The sun had come out, and was already on its way down the clear sky, turning everything a little more yellow than it usually was.

"How do you think they're doing?" Frojkal kept flipping a gold coin in his hand, looking bored. O'Hinal sat backwards in a chair in the strategy room, where the map of the King's castle was still charted out over the table.

"I don't know. I'm guessing they're doing fine. What I want is for them to hurry up already and get back. Not only so I can see our best at their best at one of the best places worldwide, but so you-know-what can fall through you-know-when." O'Hinal looked left towards Frojkal and winked, and Frojkal's eyes widened a little, and he stood up.
"That, huh? Mm. Yes, yes, O'Hinal. And what do you plan to do if, yes, I do mean if, you succeed?" Frojkal's eyes narrowed as he looked at O'Hinal's.
"Hmm, you know, you might have thought that I wouldn't have thought about that. But you're wrong, Frojkal! You're wrong! I have plans!" O'Hinal bolted up from his chair and began to laugh maniacally, and Frojkal rolled his eyes, annoyed at the rather cliché laugh.
"Listen. Once you do this, you'll probably be the most hated man in all of Misthalin. You would have to go find someone or *something* that would tolerate you, much less care for you. Don't think we're as simple-minded as you may think we are. How else would we be in this gang? Especially the Class 4 people." Frojkal put the coin in his pocket and O'Hinal stopped laughing.
"Quite. But who ever said I was aiming to *lead* them? I hate them. You must be the one who is a little off, hm? I don't mind ditching this place as long as he's dead. That's why you're in this. You're going to help me through everything. Heck, I don't care if we die the day after it's done. I just want it to be done." O'Hinal winked at Frojkal, and then looked outside the strategy room to check for any passersby that might've overheard the conversation.
"Fine. It's your life that you're throwing away. And *mine*. Did you stop to think even for a minute that someone other than you would be interested in this? Like I care that Levantris demoted you. You showed a pathetic sign of weakness! You refused to kill the innocent! You're lucky Levantris didn't just feed you to Savlon!"

Frojkal's normally smooth voice turned into a raspy, dry voice that had a lot less appeal than it usually did. *'Hinal immediately grabbed hold of Frojkal's clothes, and brought him face-to-face with him.
"Listen. I didn't enlist you to hear some stupid comments. If you refuse to help, then you'll fall with everyone else!"
"Fine." Frojkal raised his hands, and calmed down.
"I'll give you one more chance. But don't stir me up again, Gregory. I swear, I'll expose you if you treat me that way again." Frojkal's voice returned to its normal, river-flowing voice.
"You wouldn't." O'Hinal let go of Frojkal, and pushed him back with force, sending him wobbling backwards towards one of the drawers that housed the many maps that the Black Arms' mappers had charted up.
"Indeed. But you need not worry about if you just keep calm and professional." Frojkal dusted himself off, and looked at O'Hinal with a warm, creepily hypnotic smile.
"Ok. But *don't* betray me. You know what'll happen if you do." O'Hinal reached for his belt and began to unslide an Adamantite Knife from it, moving it very slowly as he removed it. He tenderly raised it up like it was an unstable glass ornament, and pointed it at Frojkal as a warning.
Frojkal nodded in agreement, his warm and hypnotic smile still masked over his face.

"Are you quite *done*, Pa*uet?" Sevan growled softly and rolled his eyes as the group was coming close to the edge of Ice Mountain. He was sick and tired of listening to the old sage disparage the entire reputation of the man he had once looked up to with such high esteem, King Roald.
"Almost, Sevan. Goodness, why are you so worked up over this? I understand that it may be a pain to take in since you have known him to be a well man since you have met him, but trust me, you will come to agree with my viewpoint of Roald in time." Pa*uet had a jovial look on his face, as if he enjoyed telling Sevan about Roald's faults.

Well... that was interesting... sorta. Anyways, we're getting there to Jipalar. Not like they were gonna get there without some sort of trouble!
Speaking of which, this story isn't going to get to its end without some reading trouble on your part. If you feel that you can take it, then by all means go further in. If you can't, well, that's why this is here.

Irtia paid either of them little attention, and only seemed focused on what lay ahead. She hadn't said a word since the incident back with Straven and the strange, malevolent ball of energy. Her radiant face was like stone and looked uncaring, just like the Phoenix Gang members.
"No offense, Pa*uet, but I'd think I'd believe that when a twelve-legged spider crawls on the invisible ceiling above me and then spontaneously explodes, spreading its green, chunky guts all over us, melting us in a matter of seconds." Sevan crossed his arms and looked at Irtia, which soothed him a little.
At least she didn't seem to be troubled by the old man's words. She seemed at peace with herself, despite the fact that she looked ready for battle. In reality, she *was* ready for battle -- as Jipalar was not very far away, because when they got to the edge of the foot of the mountain, Pa*uet would cast a long, complicated teleportation spell and instanteously warp them all there. It was necessary not only to get in front of the Black Arms, which for all they knew, probably had a way to get there faster as well, but also because the sun was setting and it would be very difficult to travel at night, especially with thieves around.
'Indeed, how *has* she managed to keep herself calm all this time? I could probably swear by the sun that she heard everything, yet she remains unfazed by *any* of this... This madness that Pa*uet keeps rambling on about. But of course, knowing Irtia, she wouldn't tell us if she was hurting. That is how I've known her, and I doubt that will ever change.' Sevan thought, and Irtia finally looked at him with a lazy look that asked him why he was looking at her like that.
"Sorry. I'm just thinking, and I'm not really paying attention to where I'm looking." Irtia raised an eyebrow at that comment, and then looked back at Nali, and then back to the scenery in front of them.

'Oh gosh. That came out wrong.' Sevan slapped himself in the forehead mentally, and then Pa*uet turned his head towards him and said,
"Well, we are about to reach the edge of Ice Mountain. I suggest you ready yourself and clear your mind of anything troubling you."
The Black Arms had begun to move faster, as the pink-reddish sunlight that lit up the entire plain and made the black and gray colors of the Rogue armor fade. The grass obeyed the light's command and began to show as a light fuchsia color, while the skies near the sun were pink as the skirts that Thessalia had sold to some of her customers.
By now, the water that had spread all over the plain had just about evaporated, since the grass had managed to do a little drinking to help recede the floodwaters. Now it was like walking in a gigantic puddle, although that still didn't make Sonia feel any better. What made her feel worse is that there weren't any clothes floating around in the water that a dead adventurer or merchant might have left behind, and that Vinnin was still walking around without anything but that cloth. She planned to have one of the thieves kill one of the few Jipalar guards and steal his clothing, so that Vinnin might be able to go around disguised as one, actually bolstering their success in the mission.
She still thought that without the storm (and the disappearance of Reitar), they would have been in a much better situation. A much, much more pleasant situation, well, for a thief's job. She looked back at the gang members, curious to see how they looked as they got closer and closer to the next portal. They looked courageous and manly, like the storm hadn't even affected them. For a moment she admired their hardiness in the wake of that random event, as they had totally appeared to have gotten rid of the stress.
"Levantris," Sonia spoke to him quietly,
