"They accepted what I had said, and so I traveled off to Varrock. When I got there, it was as if I was someone else. No one recognized me, whatsoever. I looked around the city, and eventually, I saw the building in which I'd ransacked eleven years ago. It gave me shivers, and I put the thought aside. I went to the Rune shop, where the owner at that time, Jacklyn, was almost going bankrupt due to the fact that no one was purchasing Runes lately.
I was her first customer in a while, so she offered to teach me magic along with purchasing some Runes. Actually, I just went in there to see what it looked like and if it had changed, but she almost got on her knees, begging for me to buy something. I decided to spare her the humiliation and bought only about forty Air Runes and Mind Runes. To be honest, I didn't know *anything* about magic until that day. When she offered to teach me magic, my eyes lit up with joy. Maybe I could learn to teleport wherever I wanted, just so if I ever got humiliated again, I could get away in a heartbeat. Or, possibly, I could fight back with a powerful Fire Blast.
Now, we're almost getting to the foot of Ice Mountain, which is almost within range of Jipalar. So I won't bother you with the finer details of my magic training, but I will tell you this. I remember on the last day of my around ten years of training, which was incidentally also the day I was enlisted in the King's service. Jacklyn was an old woman by then, her once-golden, flowing long hair turned to a gray bun. She was once thin yet short, and had become even shorter and fat. Yet she still regarded me like I was a brother to her, and gave me a little letter.
I opened the letter, and I nearly fainted. It was an invitation, from King Ronaldo, father to Roald, to become the lifelong advisor of his young son! I immediately hugged her, and shook her hand so hard that she had to force my hand off of hers because she was afraid I'd break it!"

"After that, I ran off with the invitation in hand, and I crashed into the guards, who had nearly fallen over trying to stop me from running inside the palace like a maniac. I showed them the invitation, and they let me through. When I got to Ronaldo's throne room, I saw Roald for the first time, sitting on a little throne and looking up at his father.
Now, I had really wanted to clean my act up. Also, I had wanted to try and somehow get my name out of the records that probably still existed in the library. Surprisingly, when they did my background check, they had found my name in the records, and what I had done. However, my appearance had changed so much that they assumed it was another person named Pa*uet, or they had printed the name wrong and it really wasn't me. I thanked the gods for that happening, and took the job without any real hassle.
But as you know, as I watched Roald grow up and take the throne, I saw his ignorance and foolishness peak. I had thought it was just a phase that he was going through, but I was wrong. You know the rest of the story, Nali. You know what lesson I'm trying to teach Roald since he won't listen to anything else." Pa*uet let out a long sigh, and then walked back up to Sevan and Irtia.
"Did you manage to hear any of that long, mostly one-sided conversation I had with Nali, by any chance?"
"I don't see how I couldn't have heard it, Pa*uet. It was all I could hear. Seriously, it's really silent out here, and our footsteps had already faded into my mind by the time you got to the editor part." Sevan softly said, and then he looked at him like he was a friend, but a criminal.
"I guess we know the truth now, as to why you're even with us. And I have to say... I thought you were a real sage, Pa*uet. I seriously, honestly, truly thought you were a role model. But, I guess I'm just an idiot today." Sevan's voice was almost a whisper now.

Indeed, that story was one to listen to, wasn't it? Well, that's a lot to read as it's a story within a story, so here's a break for you right here. Don't worry, the two gangs won't get to Jipalar Warehouse until you read the part in which they do, so... you know what you should do. :)

"Listen! Do you really think I intend to *kill* Roald? No! I want revenge on the Black Arms for causing all of this! Be aware, Sevan, that I'm not going to do what I did forty years ago! That is all in the past, and when I had a more hot-headed mind with little reasoning. Please, understand..." Pa*uet pleaded, trying to wipe the sad look on Sevan's face.
"Well, that's a real one for the history books, Pa*uet. I suppose we might have to turn you in to the King, but... I don't know. I mean, just because it was forty years ago doesn't erase the fact that you did it. Still, I *have* seen how the King acts... Arrgh. I don't know. This is... Not the easiest thing to decide." Irtia shook her head, trying to get all the random thoughts that swarmed in her head in order.
"I trust you won't do this to me. Honestly, we could *work this out*. Please, friends. Do you care about your statuses with Roald, or do you care about Varrock?" Pa*uet looked at Sevan, then at Irtia, and then back to the Phoenix Gang members, who seemed to be getting closer so they could hear the conversation.
"Hmm." both of them said in unison, and they only thought about it for like ten seconds before Sevan started with,
"Well, if you can give me extensive proof that Roald is indeed unworthy of his throne... I-I guess I'm in."
"I'm up for it. I never really liked him anyways. I think he only enlisted me 'cause of how I look. I swear, if he has that wife of his, why is he constantly walking slowly whenever he sees me?" Irtia spat at the ground, as the group was almost at the foot of the mountain.
"Good, now. Sevan, I'll tell you about it as we cross the foot of the mountain. I should be done when we get to the other side, when I'll be able to teleport us all there to Jipalar Warehouse. I know these Phoenix Gang members are eager to loot the place, and I want to kill some Black Arm members." Pa*uet smiled, and the entire group walked on.

"Uhhhh..." Sonia groaned, as her head shook with a bit of lethargy. She saw the yellow grass pointing upwards to the afternoon sky, which was a rather light blue with a large gray cloud at the back of it. She cried out in confusion, and then Levantris stopped and let her down.
"Finally woke up, huh? Come on. We've still got a ways to go before we can get to the next portal that'll take us to Jipalar." Levantris looked at her impatiently, and then she got up and shook her head again.
"Urgh... Ok... Ok... Alright. I'm coming." Sonia let out a huge yawn and then began to walk along with Levantris on the grassy plain that the group had now entered. The winds blew fairly strong, and the gray cloud that seemed to be looming approached them. As time passed, the winds got colder and stronger, and the gray cloud seemed to grow black with anger.
"Oh. No. Not right now. Not. Right. Now!" Reitar said to himself, struck with worry as the cloud situated itself over them. The winds blew hard and revealed his eyes, which were a startlingly bright light green color, like the healthier grass that the group had seen coming out of Varrock.
"Hmm? Rei, you look worried. C'mon, help us pitch the tents before we get pummeled with hail and whatnot." Vinnin tugged at Reitar'* Rogue outfit, but he just stood there, staring at the sky. A large, deep boom of thunder rumbled across the horizon, and the peaceful mood that the blue sky gave disappeared far off, a hairline in the distance. By now, the winds were enough to push a lighter person along in their steps, although the cold feeling that they contained did give a refreshing sensation to those of the gang that had been hot for the trip.
Reitar was silent. He closed his eyes, and then fell to the ground without a second thought, as if he was going to go to sleep.
"Vinnin, buddy, if you could get a tent for me, that'd be cool. But I *have* to stay like this, on the ground. Don't ask me why, ok? Just do it."

For the first time since Vinnin had met Reitar, Rei's voice was no longer trying to feign happiness. It was very serious, and the smile had disappeared from his face. Vinnin nodded, and shouted for an extra tent, but to his dismay, a shout came back that every tent had already been taken up.
"I don't care what you say man, if it gets too dangerous out here, I'm taking you in. Still, you sure you're gonna be ok? Even if it's only rain, you--"
"Vinnin. Go. I'll be fine. Besides, we need a cold shower. Been months since we've even *touched* water like this. Might be best to get some moisture yourself before you end up killing everyone with your stench." Reitar proceeded to say something else, but it was cut off by a loud thunderclap, that hurt Vinnin's ears. He took off for the nearest tent, and got in with a couple of skinny thieves.
"You know, what Rei said wasn't a half-bad idea. Hey guys... Would you consider that? Taking a shower out here in the rain?" Vinnin spoke to the three skinny thieves that sat together at the other edge of the tent, and they just stared at him blankly.
"Oh, come on. This is a freakin' *plain* here fellas. In the middle of a cold storm. Who the *heck* is gonna see you out here?" The three thieves just skittered farther back into their corner, and shook their heads no.
"Whatever. Be that way, cowards." Vinnin looked at the cloud, awaiting the pouring that it was bound to bring.
"Is Reitar *lying* out there without any shelter?" Sonia asked, but she already knew it was him by the red hair. She sat with Levantris and a large, stocky thief that had messy brown hair and a cleft chin, with a lot of acne on his face.
"I guess. I've never questioned his motives on stuff like this, but if wants to lie out there like that, let him. As long as he's still alive to get to Jipalar and thieve, who cares?" Levantris remarked, and then the rains began to fall, along with a flash of lightning that fell in a random place.

"Hey, uhh... Sonia, was it?" The stocky thief asked of her. His voice was traditionally shady, that type that just reeks of thieves.
"Yeah? What is it?" She asked, looking on as the rains battered the camouflaged tents and pushed them in in places. Another roll of thunder passed, and the rain's constant, loud slapping upon the tents began to annoy her. Levantris had closed the tent, leaving a rather hot odor to permeate it.
"What are your plans for Jipalar? I know Levantris has something... Good, but what about you? I'm curious to know." The stocky thief poked the top of the tent in boredom as he waited for the response.
"Um... To be honest, I don't know. I think Levantris did pretty much most of the planning here. I'm just here to follow orders from him and give them to you. Sounds... Simple enough." Sonia sighed at the end of the sentence, and thought once more about what she was going to do in a few hours. She didn't want to, but what choice did she have? She couldn't easily run away, unless... Unless, during Jipalar, she escaped into Taverley or... No, that wouldn't work. It'd be dark and it was at least a night's walk to Taverley or Burthrope where she would be safe. Besides, the gang would figure out she was gone and go looking for her, and with their technique and connections, they'd probably be able to find her before she could consider herself normal again.
"Oh. Eh, I guess... You're pretty new, although I wonder what reasons Levantris would have for setting you in your position." The stocky thief looked at Levantris patiently. Except for the constant slapping of the tent by the heavy rain and the thunder that rumbled across, it was pretty peaceful, and silent among the three.
"Weeeeeeeeeeee haw!!" A deep voice shouted from outside, and it seemed to be getting closer as the joyous shout was heard.
"What in the name of..." Levantris opened up the tent, as did many others, and they saw a very disturbing sight.

Many men screamed at the sight and immediately closed up their tents, but some just stared in shock at the guy who was rolling around in the grass, shouting with glee as the rains pummeled the dirt and stench off of his almost bare body, which almost looked like a gigantic, roasted, rolling pig that didn't have a fire to hang over. His Rogue armor was thrown in a pile behind the nearest tent, and after rolling around in the grass for a minute or two, he stood up, sopping wet, and shouted,
"Come on! It's awesome! I've never felt so... Uh, clean in my life as a thief! Wooooooooo!" Vinnin roared as some of the people who were still staring slowly turned around and closed their tents, their eyes wide open and their jaws about to slam into the ground. A couple of thieves looked up at his face and rolled their eyes, and to this, Vinnin responded with,
"Give me a break, guys! At least come on *out* if you don't wanna actually take a *shower* here. C'mon, you all are wearing *some* sort of clothing under that Rogue, so don't worry about it! 'Course, if you're a *real man*, you'd join me and leave just about everything behind." Vinnin crossed his arms and then another thunderclap rumbled across the skies, while Reitar still lay on the grass, being drenched by the rain.
"This stings, but it's worth it. Although, Vinnin... Bold of him. I'll give him that." Reitar snickered at the comment he had just made, and then sighed, loving the rain and the relative peacefulness that he had seemed to obtain.
"What is it?" Sonia peeked out, and as soon as she did, she regretted it for the rest of her life. She saw Vinnin walking over to each of the individual tents, and peeking in, still leaving what was left of the Rogue armor and his other clothes behind one of the tents. He had torn off the arms and legs off of the Rogue and used it to make a very good loincloth.

"Oh gosh! Oh! Gosh! Ugggggh! That is just so... Wrong!" Sonia cried out as she dived to the other side of the tent, trying to furiously shake the sight.
"Hey, Vinnie!" Levantris called, seeming to take no mind of Vinnin's appearance. Sonia immediately turned around and slapped him on the back, saying in a shrill voice,
"Don't call him over here!!! What are you thinking?! I don't want to *see him* like that!! I don't even want him near me! Ugh!" She turned around and kept on shaking her head hard, trying to get rid of the memory that was now imprinted on her mind. Despite her efforts, it seemed to glue itself to her thought's eye like a dirty picture, and she screamed and mumbled all sorts of pleadings and cries to get rid of the memory.
"Heeeeey, Vinnin! Niiiice!" The stocky thief laughed at Vinnin, who was hunched over and looking at the three: Levantris on the left side of the entrance to the tent, the other thief beside him, and Sonia in the corner shaking her head like there was a bug in it.
"Yeah, that's right, Ralphy my brother! This is how a true man enjoys the rain!" An ear-shattering thunderclap resounded across the plains, and the flash was only within a few feet of the camp. The rain began to drive itself even more wildly than before, the wind screaming in rage as the storm intensified.
"Ow! Hey, let me in! This ain't fun no more!" Vinnin began to dance, as the large rain droplets, coupled with the mad wind, felt like punches upon his skin. Sonia screamed again in despair, and Ralph stifled a laugh as Vinnin jumped into the tent, drenched with rain from the storm.
"Well, at least I'm clean. What you can you all say about y'alls' selves, huh? Huh?!" Vinnin shouted to the other tents, and Levantris closed up the tent again. By now, the power of the rain was becoming almost too harsh for the tents to handle, and the tent's space began to close in due to the pummeling rain.

"Shut up! Shut up! Just shut up!!" Sonia shouted, trying to block out any images of Vinnin, and the fact that he was *in the same tent* as she was.
To try and get her mind off of the dirty images in her head, Sonia thought of other things, such as Reitar, who was still lying outside, facing the full brunt of the storm. He must have either been swept away or really hardy, or possibly the smashing of the rain against the weakening tent fabrics was muting his screams. It worried her that Reitar might have been actually hurt from being hit by angry winds and atrocious rainfall, but at least it wasn't as bad as having to think about *Vinnin*.
"Um, boss, I don't think the tents are gonna hold up much longer!" Vinnin whispered to Levantris, who was at this point just sitting on the floor, curled into a ball. He was snickering to himself evilly, as if it was his plot to bring them out here in the middle of nowhere so they could die to a random storm.
"Boss? Boss?" Vinnin crawled up to Levantris and poked his leg, but Levantris made no movement. He just kept snickering to himself, and then Ralph stood up, pushing the ends of the tents out, especially the wind-pressed side, trying to keep it from closing in and collapsing.
"Urgh! I dunno how long I can keep it like this! This storm's no joke!" Ralph groaned as he struggled to keep the side of the tent up, and then water began to seep into the tent at a quick rate, due to the fact that the grass had had enough of the rain and was flooding over. It touched Sonia like a cold, wet hand, and then she was knocked out of her semi-peaceful trance and screamed, noticing the puddle of water that she was sitting in.
"What's going on now?! I finally find a half-decent happy place and now there's *water* in the tent?! Urgh! I hate this day! I wish we were at Jipalar already so we could get this *over with*!"
