I tried to sit up, but felt heavier than normal. I could sit up enough to see Tuoni’s hand aimed towards Rose. Her hands were glowing a vibrant red colour, preparing for another fire wave. The glow turned into the violent flames that encompass the spell, but something was different.
The flames spread up her arms, and enveloped her upper body. I caught a glimpse of her eyes, the pupils were gone. They were like two white orbs, almost as if she had rolled her eyes back into her skull. It was a frightening image, and I struggled to get to my feet.
Tuoni still had his arm outstretched, “what madness is this?” he yelled.
I could hear Rose chanting something, and she suddenly thrust both of her palms towards Tuoni. The fire left her body in a torrent of unimaginable heat. A massive red and orange wall of flames hurtled towards our foe. Tuoni thought better of taking such a blast and quickly teleported before he was hit. The house behind him had no such luxury. The wall of fire blasted into the house and obliterated it. Splinters rained down along with the blackened remains of the furniture inside.
Everyone stopped what they were doing, in awe at what they just witnessed. I could now move, and I managed to get to Rose before she fell to the floor. I caught her, and she looked up at me.
“What just happened?” she asked.
“I….I don’t know,” I answered.

A full scale clean up was set underway around twenty minutes after the incident with Rose, with the hardy warriors turning their hands to repair and construction.
Undertakers buried the undead, putting them to rest again. Brundt was overseeing much of the clean up. I was with him, helping out wherever I could. I was explaining to him the cause of the attack, and about Tuoni. Unfortunately, he had overheard Tuoni speaking, about the Gods being 'accidents'. I was trying my best to avoid telling our allies about this. A lot of people would be devastated by this news, especially monks and such like. Their whole lives depended on worship and faith, and I wasn't keen to destroy this, no matter what God they followed.
"So you're telling me that this...Tuoni, has control of the undead, and wishes to destroy us? When does he plan to attack?"
"A week, at the most. I need your help, Cheiftain."
"And you shall have it, Dokkir."
"Your help is appreciated."
"What was with that girl you were with? She looks powerful!"
I had gave my Glory Amulet to Rose, and told her to return to the house to rest.
"She's never done that before. I know she is becoming a rather powerful magic user, but I have never seen anything like that."
"Perhaps this magic field you mentioned?"
"Perhaps," I replied. We had entered the great hall, where a few of the less injured villagers were being tended to.
"Sit down, Dokkir, I will fetch us something to drink."
I took a seat, my legs welcoming the rest. I took a quick look around, and caught the eye of an adventurer. She must have been taking part in the trials at the time of the attack.
"What are you looking at?" she called, whilst a Fremmenik woman stitched up a cut on her arm.

I shrugged my shoulders and looked away. If that was her attitude, so be it. Brundt sat down next to me, pushing over a tankard of mead and a plate of venison. No cutlery, as usual, but I didn't mind. Food was food. I picked it up and took a large bite.
"I said, what are you looking at?"
I looked up to see the adventurer standing across the table, glaring at me. Now that she was standing, I could take a decent look at her. She was very tall for a woman, and had very muscular arms. Two black swords were sheathed on her flanks. She pulled some of her black hair out her eyes, and grouped it into a ponytail.
"I ask again, cur!"
I looked at Brundt, who was happily chomping away as if this wasn't happening. I glanced back at the woman. I was still chewing my own food, and being someone of manners, I decided to wait until I'd finished before I replied to her. This did not sit well with her, as she withdrew one of her blades and brought it swiftly down towards the table. I had seen this in her eyes though, and I quickly moved my own blade to block her own. The two swords smashed together with a loud clang.
"Too slow," I said, trying not to smirk.
Whoever this woman was, she was now enraged.
"Who the hell do you think you are? You come in here, give me funny looks and then have the nerve to ignore my questions and insult me! I should cut your throat, you ignorant pig!"
I smiled again, and made eye contact.
"Brundt, who is this woman?"
"She's* takkingh the trialhsm**, I fink sher name waf Reanma."
"Ahh, Reanna. Kindly eat with your mouth closed Brundt."
"Whatefer."
"So, Reanna, you're taking part in the trials. Tell me, which of the councillers have pledged their vote to you?"
She looked back at me with a disgusted look on her face.
"That's none of your business."
I laughed and pushed her blade away from mine, "so that's none then, oh, you are good. I look forward to watching you play later on."

I pointed at the stage, "they are a fickle crowd here, but I'm sure your sparkling personality and wit will win them over."
"She won't have to take part in the whole trial," Brundt suddenly said. "For one thing, Sigmund's shop has been turned inside out, and your friend managed to decimate Peer the Seer'* house, which contained a test he likes to do, as you well know."
Reanna looked concerned by this, "then how am I to secure confidence in me for the Trials?"
"The very fact you stood next to us and fought as one of us is enough for me. You are now a Fremmenik, well done."
"Hey, you were never that easy on me!" I protested, "I'm still feeling the effects from the beer drinking Manni put me through!"
"Quit your whining, Dokkir. Now she's one of us, she can help with your preperations."
"What preparations?" Reanna asked, sheathing her blade.
"There will be more attacks like these, and you will help Dokkir and his friends in the preparations. If the facts they have gathered are true, an army of undead will attack within a week, starting with Varrock. Another army will attack from the south, heading into Karamja and Port Sarim."
Reanna looked shocked at all this. It was a look I was getting used to seeing from people. "But, Cheiftain..."
Brundt looked her right in the eyes. "If you are truly one of us now, you will follow my orders. Seeing as I have let you join us without even completing the trials, I would have thought you were in my debt."
She looked concerned by this, even a little upset. Her face straightened however, as if she suddenly steeled her nerves.
"I am at your disposal, Chieftain."
Brundt smiled, "then take a seat. Your name here in Relleka is Barkal. Get yourself some mead and join us."

And so there we sat, until early afternoon, discussing the events that are to unfold, and an effective use for the warriors of Relleka. It was decided that half of the forces would be sent to help in Karamja, and the remaining half would fortify the forces of the White Knights, to help keep control of the Wilderness border to the north of Falador. King Roald and King Lathas had already decided to combine their forces to guard the territory to the north of Varrock. The Elves, as I mentioned earlier, had also pledged their allegiance, their mastery of projectile weapons would provide excellent long ranged attacks, along with the Wizards of Yanille.
Only the safety of the lands to the south was still of concern. The remaining forces of the Veritus Vos Liberit will be traveling north to attack Karamja and Port Sarim, and they will come with fiercely armed fleets of ships. I hoped that the powerful cannons and machinery of the Dwarves would come in useful there, as well as the Tzhaar people, and of course the local tribesman.
Despite all of the preparations, we were still outmatched. The sheer numbers of undead that inhabit the Wilderness quite easily amasses to over ten thousand strong, not to mention the amount of warriors and adventurers that have ventured out there, their reasons only known to them. Be it to slay the King Black Dragon, or investigate the mysterious Chaos Elemental, chances are, a lot of people have died there. Tuoni could easily reanimate their corpses and add them to his already numerous forces.
Reanna jolted me from my thoughts.
"So, when we gonna make a move? Looks like we're stuck together for a while. I'm sorry about earlier, I was just trying to impress Brundt."
I drank the last of my mead and pushed the pewter away, "don't worry about it. Although your help is appreciated, you won't have to follow me about. I'm going to return to Draynor now, and see how my friends are getting on."

"Fine, I'll go with you. Do you have a Glory Amulet?"
"Yes, but I gave it to Rose so she could return back."
"I have another in my bank. Let's walk back to Seer'* Village, I'll let you use mine."
Something I had thought of earlier struck me, and I remembered that I had another errand to run before I returned back to the house.
"You go to Draynor now. Our house is just to the north of the bank. Explain what has happened to the others, Rose you should recognize, right? Wait for me there. There is still something I must do."
She looked confused, but followed my instructions anyway. I looked in my pocket for some spare runes. One Law, three Airs and a Water rune, just what I needed. I said my farewells to Brundt, and teleported to Falador.
Falador was busy as usual, with lots of people running around. The only difference was that the word of impending attack was quickly spreading, and the people looked concerned. The White Knights were maintaining a powerful presence throughout the town, most likely just to give people peace of mind. This would of probably worked a little better if they didn't look so uneasy themselves.
My mind returned to the task at hand, and I made my way into the bank.
"Hello, sir, how may I help you?" asked a teller as I approached the window.
"I'd like to make a withdrawal please," I replied.
I withdrew 200k and a few teleportation runes. It had taken me two days of solid flax picking to make this amount of money, but it was worth it. I wasn't entirely sure why flax was so valuable to some people. I knew that it could be made into bowstrings, but what would someone do with one thousand bows? Strange.
I cursed myself for letting my mind wander yet again, and I quickly exited the bank and headed north, to The Guild of Heroes. I eventually reached the great doors, and made my way inside. Achetties was there, and as she watched me enter, she approached.

"You, I want a word with you!" she said with anger.
"What?" I asked, shocked.
"Why have you not informed your guild mates of the little matter of undead armies?"
Darn, word does spread fast. Still, better her knowing now rather than later.
"I haven't got round to it yet, guild master, there are many factions I must consult! You are on my to-do list!"
My poor attempt at humour didn't sit well with her.
"The entire guild already knows, I have seen to that. I only found out from a White Knight that applied for entry. I have also informed the Champions Guild and Legends Guild, so if you were going to be kind enough to fill them in, you needn't bother now."
"Thank you, Achetties."
"Just get on with whatever you're here for."
I nodded and headed upstairs to the smithy. I purchased a Dragon Battle Axe and slung it's massive girth over my shoulder. I'm not a fan of axes, I much preferred blades, but the axe wasn't for me anyway.
I headed back downstairs and went to leave. Achetties called me once again. She was beginning to annoy me.
"Where are you headed?"
"Draynor****'am."
"Take this, it will make things easier. I know you already have one, but having a spare is always useful."
She tossed me a Glory Amulet, freshly charged. I smiled as a way of thanks and teleported into the pure chaos that was now Draynor.

Flowing red and pink gowns were everywhere, running around attacking people.
I quickly readied the Dragon Battle Axe and prepared for battle. For whatever reason, HAM had decided to emerge from the little hole they infested and attack Draynor. Justin, Lydia, Reanna and Yamabushi were out defending the citizens as best they could, but the number of HAM followers outnumbered them. Time to even the odds. I closed my eyes, and let the power of the axe flow into me. A rage overtook my mind, and I could feel my very soul become consumed by anger. My arms pulsed with a new found strength, and I held the axe aloft.
"Rraaagggggggghhhh!"
A pulse of red mystic energy shot out from around me as a few HAM followers noticed me there. As they turned and looked at me, I noticed that their faces were covered in sores, and skin was flaking and hanging off. They were undead. It seemed that Tuoni had decided that HAM had outlived it's usefulness alive, and killed them all. They were now mindless zombies, following the orders of an unseen force.
One of them charged at me, blood dripping from his mouth. I took my axe with both hands and swung with all my might. After activating the special, my strength increased dramatically, as the zombie quickly found out. I cleaved a massive **** across it's upper body, and as it fell I brought the axe down on to the neck, severing the head.
Lydia noticed me, and called out, "what the hell is going on?"
"The time of attack is near, Tuoni is trying to weaken our forces, I have just had to fight of waves of these at Relleka."
"Do you know this woman?" Lydia asked, pointing at Reanna.
I nodded as another undead made his way quickly to me. Lydia let off a rune arrow, and pierced his skull. The zombie stopped dead in front of me, with the wrong end of the arrow protruding from his forehead, bits of brain falling to the floor with him.

"Yes, she is here on Cheiftain Brundt's orders. She is going to help us prepare."
Lydia gave me a quick thumbs up, and continued letting off arrows.
I swung my axe towards another zombie, slashing the pink robes and flesh like a hot knife through butter. It's upper body fell to the ground, and I stamped on the head, finishing it off.
I quickly looked around to survey the situation we were in. Undead HAM followers were chasing around villagers, and a few adventurers were fighting them off as best they could. One person caught my eye however, he was a big man, about the size of Kzahaar. What was most interesting however, was his armour. It was a mix of chain mail, leather and various metals. It looked rather aged, but at the same time seemed almost impenatrable. He was swinging a gigantic axe around with lethal efficiency, carving apart his wretched opponents. He noticed me looking, and waved. I recognised the wave, it was Kzahaar!
"How you doing, buddy? What you think of my new stuff?"
"Where on earth did you find that equipment?" I asked, astounded. "You said you were a man of peace now, spending time with the spirits and Monks of Entrana!"
Kzahaar laughed. "You actually think I'd spend any time with those namby-pamby monks? When I said I'd been getting closer to the spirits, I meant the spirits of the Six Brothers, who have been buried and haunting a place called the Barrows! I managed to find this stuff after plundering the tombs a few times. Nifty, huh? Hey, check this out!"

Kzahaar lifted up the chest plate to reveal a huge cut across his chest.
"What? You should get that healed, idiot!" I shouted.
"Yeah, after, but watch this. The more hurt I am, the more powerful this axe and armour become!"
He swung the axe towards a zombie that had gotten too close, and quite simply obliterated it. The zombie was smashed to pieces in an instant, and blood, guts, intestines and body parts rained down.
"Curse you, Kzahaar, I told you to stop doing that!" yelled out Justin.
Justin, I'd almost forgotten about him. He was struggling to maintain control of the undead he was fighting. His hand-to-hand techniques were dependant on nervous system manipulation and shattering bones. Simply put, he used the body’s ‘weakness’ against his victims. Unfortunately for him, zombies and such-like were impervious to such attacks, seeing as they felt no pain, and are detached from the nervous system. I had realised this a few days ago, and Justin is who I had bought the axe for. Although he hated weapons, if he wanted to survive he'd better get used to using one.
"Catch!" I yelled, as I threw him the axe.
He caught it, with a look of confusion on his face. This quickly turned into a smile, and he regained control of the undead by cleaving a path through them.
I withdrew the Fremmenik Blade Brundt had given me, and continued the fight. We were still outnumbered, but we were making some headway. A zombie ran towards me, and I quickly stepped back to allow enough room for a counter strike. What I didn't notice was the tree root sticking up from the ground, and my foot snagged. I lost my balance and fell onto my back. Cursing myself for my mistake, I tried to quickly regain my composure. This was not to be however, as the zombie was on top of me in an instant. I struggled to hold it back, using my forearm across it's neck and my left palm pushing back at it's forehead.
