And so... having made these mistakes before I... preceded to make them again. Only this time, I added more of my own lore into the story, but again I experimented. Some of you may have noted that certain races had their names changed repeatedly, those were my original races, while I still tried to work out what I wanted to call them.

Probably the worst race for name changing was the race first called Mazoku, later referred to as devils, then Ahura/Asura.

Well, putting all that aside, inspired by your (undeserved) loyalty, I will be finishing this story. But first, let me set a few things straight:

Firstly, since I no longer play RS, and this is my story, in cases where my lore and Jagex's lore contradict, my lore wins. Oh, and I'll focus on my lore, Jagex's is nice, but I'm not paying much attention to it anymore; End of story, no appeals :P

Secondly, just so I don't ***** this up again. My original races will be given the (final) names that I decided to call them (all listed names are both singular and plural.)

The race of light (formerly called Deva/Daeva) will from now on be referred to as the Luxiarch.

The race of darkness (fomerly called Mazoku/Asura/Devils/Ahura) will be referred to as the Skotun.

The race of chaos will be called the Dwolemak. (Don't worry about trying to pronounce it.)0

The race of order will be called Fahlu.

Also, it's bugged me for a while so... I've decided to change Mephos' title from the "Deathly Miasma" to "Shadow Mist" (which 1. sounds a bit better and 2. fits him better)

Finally, I'll have an add up sometime in the next week. So check back on occasion (and you can hold me to that, lol [but seriously, if Saturday night rolls around without an add, raise Hell at me])

Good. Glad that's settled. Not to down the cause of your loyal fans trying to get you to finish but have you heard of X: void by Zenma, that thing is still alive and he hasn't posted in 5 years... 5 years!

Anyway glad to see that you'll be making a finish. If you had simply listened to me the first time you might be done by now(or simply in a very well developed yet complex world that was about the same distance from completion)

They did? *_o Well, can't say I'm surprised. This is part of the reason I play on a competing game now, lol.

Btw, after the next add I might give you all a "behind the scenes" look at my writing process. (If you're ineterested.)

Oh, and in case your curious about the status of the add I promised; I currently have a six page (very rough) draft for it. I'll be polishing it up tomorrow and hopefully will have it up by tomorrow afternoon.

The Luxiarch defenders looked down upon the massing armies in front of their cities with a growing sense of dread. From modest estimates, they attackers numbered in the hundreds, and all that remained in Stork capital was a skeleton force nearly fifty strong. For now, the two armies were being kept apart by a barrier that had been conjured by a small group of Skotun, but even the most ignorant of the Luxiarch knew that the barrier couldn't last long under the constant attack of a powerful demon.

For their part, the Skotun held out better than expected, keeping the barrier up even as their bodies began to collapse with fatigue. But it wasn't long before the last of their number had fallen; the strain of blocking the demon's attacks too much to handle, and with that, the barrier also fell, to the cheers of the Zarosians.

No orders were given on the Zarosian side; they were unneeded. The smell of victory was in the air, and as with one mind, the Zarosians swarmed toward the open gates of Stork Capital.

Within the city, the few remaining Luxiarch guards rushed to the opening in the gate, knowing victory was impossible, but at least hoping to die an honorable death. With a resolve born more of fear than any hope of victory, they stood in unbroken ranks and grimly watched as the forces of their enemies grew ever closer. Then, just as it appeared that the Zarosians would reach the gates, a miracle happened. With a battle-cry that shook the heavens, the Luxiarch forces that had run off after the decoy army returned to the battlefield, raining down blows on the rear forces of the Zarosians. Caught totally off-guard by this unexpected counter-attack, the Zarosians offered little resistance, allowing the Luxiarch forces to venture halfway through the Zarosian surge, cutting down all who stood in their way.

Seeing their own forces fall to the sudden onslaught, and realizing they were now trapped between two hostile groups, most of the Zarosians broke into panic, allowing the Luxiarch to make further gains. Thankfully, Amatsu and Orcris kept their heads even in the panic, and realizing the danger caused by their troops running in every direction, quickly began rallying all troops within earshot. When their forces were back in some semblance of fighting order, they were turned against the rear attack.

Seeing that the situation did not require his immediate attention, Amatsu gave Orcris control of the troops, and used his magic to communicate with Dantalion and demanded to know why he had not been informed of the Luxiarch's escape. The response shocked and enraged even the seemingly unshakable Amatsu; the Luxiarch had been all but routed, only a handful remained, and those few had their backs to a cliff wall and were fighting for their lives.

Staring in shock at the attacking Luxiarch forces, Amatsu noticed that something about them was off; they weren't fighting in a Luxiarch style, but rather...

With a howl of rage that brought both sides to a halt, Amatsu unleashed a torrent of magical energy which tore apart the carefully crafted illusion placed upon the battlefield. The Luxiarch counter-attack vanished, in the place of their soldiers were Zarosians, their blades wet with the blood of their comrades. The two forces of Zarosians stared at each other in utter shock, while Amatsu, still enraged, turned to the Luxiarch standing at the gate, scanning them carefully.

Eventually his eyes rested on one of them, and shouting the single word “You!” at the top of his lungs, Amatsu hurled a ball of blue fire at the Luxiarch. Rather than fleeing from this attack, the Luxiarch simply outstretched his hand toward the fireball, and, to the surprise of all, created a vortex of impenetrable darkness which consumed Amatsu's fire entirely.

The battlefield went silent, all eyes turning from the darkness-wielding Luxiarch to Amatsu and back.

“I should've known,” Amatsu finally said, breaking the silence, “Their are only three people in the world who can create illusions strong enough to fool even me, and only one of them could possibly be here.”

“Three?” asked the Luxiarch, his form being consumed by a dark mist, “Aren't you forgetting the high priest?”

“He's gone,” hissed Amatsu, “Never to return.”

The mist around the Luxiarch faded away, and from it emerged an Skotun with purple-tipped silver hair which hung past his shoulders, deep violet eyes, and skin so pale as to seem almost ephemeral.

While the Zarosians were shocked, the Luxiarch seemed nearly ready to faint at the sight of the Skotun. Their eyes quickly darted from his face to his attire; ornate robes of black and purple silk, laced with silver runes. Ever observant, Orcris noted that the Luxiarch themselves grew paler the more they looked at this Skotun, and that several even grew unsteady when their eyes landed on the ornament he wore around his neck; a simple ornament, consisting of a red ribbon of silk holding a single violet gem in which there seemed to be a raging darkness.

Although all eyes were on him, the Skotun seemed only concerned with Amatsu. Neither spoke a word to the other, but it seemed to all present as if some secret communication was taking place between the two.

Most of the soldiers stood mystified by this newcomer and his effect on Amatsu. But there was one who quickly regained his wit. Knowing that the Skotun in front of him was currently preoccupied, and knowing likewise that should he choose to fight, he would be a dangerous adversary, Orcris drew his blade, and lunged forward.

The Skotun seemed oblivious to the attack, realizing the danger he was in only as Orcris reached him. His dark eyes turned to the half elf, a look of surprise was on his face, then Orcris' blade was buried hilt deep.

Orcris held his stance, breathing heavily as blood streamed down his sword and onto his hand. The attack had pierced the Skotun's chest, Orcris had seen to that, and knew that the blood now covering his hand was heart-blood. Despite this, he was uneased, no cry of pain had escaped the Skotun's lips, and even now, as he looked upon the blade through his chest, the Skotun did not look disturbed; if anything, he was the slightest bit amused, Finally, he looked Orcris in the eye and said, “An excellent attack, a human opponent would be lying at your feet in his death throes by now.*

Orcris sighed and managed a slight smile, replying, “I figured something like this wouldn't kill you Liam... or rather, I suppose it's Mephos now?*

The Skotun made a slight nod, saying, “I have no quarrel with you Orcris, my opponent is the warlock. However, I must take payment for a grievous injury like this.”

As Mephos finished speaking, Orcris became aware that his blade had grown cold to the touch. Looking down at it, he was surprised to find that frost had gathered on the hilt, and his hands had turned pale. In shock, he released his sword, and fell back. No sooner had he done so than a thick, black darkness surrounded the sword; there was the sound of metal bending and shattering, then both the darkness and the sword vanished, leaving behind a hole in Mephos' chest where the sword had been.

The Zarosians stared at the hole in utter shock; blood was still pouring from the wound, but the Skotun seemed unweakened even so.

Orcris turned to Amatsu, an apology on his lips, but the warlock motioned for him to be silent. “That was an exceptional attack,” he said, “If your blade had been coated with spider's venom, even Mephos would've died from it. In fact, even as is, it would take him nearly a month to recover from the wound normally...”

Orcris noted the emphasis Amatsu put on the word “normally” and was about to ask about it when something he saw out of the corner of his eye caught his attention; Mephos, still standing in the shadows of the gate, was now surrounded by shadowy tendrils. With a motion from the incubus, the tendrils rushed forward, stabbing into the hearts of several nearby Zarosian soldiers. Out of instinct, Orcris dashed toward their aid. He never made it close; before his eyes, the soldier's seemed to whither away; their hair turned grey, their muscle seemed to melt away, leaving little more than skin and bones, and their faces became wrinkled and sagged.

Orcris stared in spite of himself, the men affected had turned from well-trained soldiers into aged men within a matter of seconds. Turning back to Mephos, the half-elf was surprised again; the gaping wound he had given the Skotun was now healing before his eyes, heart muscle regrew at a rapid pace, repairing the organ the Orcris had nearly completely destroyed, bone reformed over that, and finally skin after the bone.

“You understand?” asked Amatsu, *This is part of the reason why the succubi and incubi were once the most feared and hated of the Skotun; the ability to devour the life-force of others to sustain and heal themselves. Although, normally, this requires physical contact, through his magic, Mephos has given himself a far greater range than many of his kind.”

“He took out a group of us in one hit,” muttered some of the soldiers, “Even Lord Orcris couldn't take him on... can we really win this fight?”

Orcris and Amatsu both noticed the murmurs going through the troops. Some of the less courageous were already inching away from the city, and even those that remained were looking toward their leaders for orders. It was apparent that a full retreat could start at any moment, and if such a thing should occur, the day would be lost.

“Orcris, please sit this one out,” said Amatsu, walking forward. “You've already had a tough battle this day... I will handle this one.”

The soldiers stared as their leader walked toward the incubus. While most of Amatsu's group admired him, few, if any, had ever seen him fight.

“So you're going to be my opponent?” questioned Mephos, remaining in the shadows of the gate.

“It's your loss, Shadowmist,” replied Amatsu, “Lest you forget; I've defeated you before, and here you're out of your element. There are no bodies of water lying nearby, and few shadows for you to hide in. I must admit I am curious as to how long you think you can hold out against me... and also, why you are coming to the aid of your enemies.”

“I consider there to be a hierarchy of enemies,” replied Mephos, “And you are far higher up on that than even the Luxiarch.”

“I'm flattered,” said Amatsu, “Shall we begin?”

“Oh, so you haven't noticed?” questioned Mephos.

Before Amatsu could reply, the ground began to shake. As the warlock tried to steady himself, large fissures spread out in front of Mephos, swallowing a number of Zarosian troops, who fell screaming into the depths below, and coming dangerously close to Amatsu himself.

“Disappointing,” muttered the warlock. With a snap of Amatsu's fingers, the fissures vanished, the shaking stopped, and once again the land was whole.

“Another illusion?” questioned Orcris looking around.

“Yes, and yet, not quite,” replied Mephos, never looking away from Amatsu.

Orcris continued to look around, and quickly noticed something amiss; while none of his soldiers were missing, several had recently died; oddly, the same soldiers that had fallen into the fissures in Mephos' illusion.

Noticing the dead soldiers, Amatsu shook his head. “I guess I don't have a choice,” he sighed, “And to think, I was originally planning to take you alive.”
