The add's almost ready, but I need some sleep. 4- hours left 'til work, 0.0

Granted, I did sleep in today, but still...

So anyway, check back tomorrow or the next day. In the meantime, I will go ahead and start Character Q&A for those of you who weren't around last time (and those who need a refresher) here are the rules:

You may ask a question of any character that has either appeared or been mentioned in the story. Provided that the character is in a state where they could reasonably answer (i.e. dead or comatose characters may not respond.) {Since we're in a bit of a limbo with two characters, I will clarify that you CAN question Mephos or Elior}

You should address questions to specific characters, the best format for this is @<character_name> : <question>

All characters are required to respond, but they may lie or be deceiving in their responses. However, no character will lie without a reason to do so. (i.e. character_a might be plotting to back-stab character_b, but would not give an honest answer which gave that away.)

Finally, as for timing, I'm in a good mood (or just too darn sleepy to think straight) so the cut off for question submission is midnight, Tuesday, 04/03/2011, BST (In case you're wondering the time-stamp on your post is in BST.) I may, at my own discretion, have characters answer questions posted shortly after this time, but I am under no obligation to do so.

That is all *passes out from lack of sleep*

Well considering you didn't put a limit as to how many characters we could ask questions or if a character could be asked multiple questions here I go.

Mephos: Considering your long absence, what are your plans now that you're back?

Void King(or Belial): What is so important about Gielinor that you would give so much attention to it?

Zaros: If you are able to return to Gielinor in full might what do you plan on doing?

Diamond Emperor: Who were you before you were the Diamond Emperor? What race were you originally? How old were you when you fought death? Do you think that anyone alive is capable of achieving what you did by defeating death in his own realm?

Aquaregis(storyteller mentioned in prologue of BP): Will this likely continue to another book or end at WoD?

Orcris: You've been very quiet lately, why is that? What is it, out of all this, that you hope to accomplish?

Well, I suppose I have some explaining to do...

A few of you may already know this, but I was on leave from my university to take a semester of working in my field. Well, my work term was ending right as I made the character Q&A available; I got so bogged down in the final things I had to do for work, finalizing my lease termination, utilities, etc (and a minor legal issue thrown in on the side.) That I haven't been able to do almost anything for leisure.

The good news, is that I finally have free time again, and thus will be able to work on adds.

Also, as an apology for not thinking when I opened character Q&A it will be extended until Sunday the 15th at midnight GMT/Forum time.

Mephos: "First and foremost, I have a debt that needs to be paid off. After that, well, I would like to get involved with Gielinor, but I have a feeling that Guthix will not appreciate it if I do. Of course, there are always ways to sneak around all but the most observant gods, and seeing how Guthix didn't even notice Zaros 'getting a foot in the door' so to speak, or Lucien's theft of the Stone of Jas, I suspect I could get involved if I kept a low profile."

Void King: "Please do not underestimate me, human. I am not 'paying so much attention' to Gielinor. Unlike your species, I am able to simultaneously watch seven worlds, and normally can keep tabs on many more. As to why Gielinor has gotten attention from me at all, well, let's just say that Zaros and I can benefit from each other's aid. And since it is one of the few worlds with a god that is willing to enter an alliance with me, I figure I should keep a close eye on it."

Zaros: "well, first, I will need to continue to rebuild. For many years, I was confined to the land now known as Morytania, with but a few, loyal faithful. From there, I was able to overthrow the tyrannical Menaphite Pantheon, and grow my power both the south and west. Of course, that 'Guthix' and his edicts weren't around then, so my expansion was halted by Saradomin and his cohorts.

Of course, now, my followers are spread out in small groups even in lands once held by Seren, Saradomin, and Armadyl, so I anticipate the number of my faithful rapidly increasing. It took the physical might of many gods, some of whom are no longer with us, along with a series of persecutions, in order to suppress my faithful from spreading last time and thus I anticipate a rapid spread of my teachings until my faithful are the dominate force on Gielinor.

After that, well... we'll see."

Diamond: "Who was I? That seems like an odd question, I was myself, of course. As for your other questions; believe it or not, I was human, and was in my prime when I fought death. I later took a slightly younger form, but, being immortal, I can adjust my apparent age at will, I do however, find that people tend to be less intimidated if I appear to be elderly, a child or an adolescent.

Defeating Death in his own realm is not an easy feat. Off the top of my head though, I can think of four people that could theoretically accomplish this. If someone were to want to defeat Death though, I would suggest summoning him to a realm in a way that prevents him from using his own power; that is how the endless witches managed to defeat him."

Author: "I anticipate at least one more story. To be honest, I kinda felt that the original 'World in Darkness' was more of a filler than a real story though, so don't expect to see much of it's plot reused."

Orcris: "I've been quiet because I've had to deal with leading an army around on a stealth mission. However, it shouldn't be long before someone notices us. And of course, we'll be ready."

Dionysius: "You would be cruel to them too if you had to deal with their endless proselytizing. 'Oh, the great Saradomin would not approve of this, Oh the great Saradomin would not approve of that. Zenivivia, renounce your evil ways and embrace Saradomin's light.' (I shall add, I only barely restrained her from killing them in response to that statement. And even so, she said some... rather unpleasant things that I'm not able to repeat.)

As for Nick, a good, dependable young man with a good head on his shoulders. Now if he had been lost in the fight, That would've been an issue. Good thing this random, complete stranger who just so happened to be an amazing healer stumbled across us." *stares suspiciously in Iosue's direction.*

"But anyway, yes, Zenivivia and I are fairly fond of Zack."

The Ouranio Bridge was considered one of Muspellheim’s wonders of engineering. Spanning a quarter of a mile over a deep ravine, it served as a crucial link in the road between the capitals of Stork and Harrier, and thus, it was unsurprising that Orcris had decided upon seizing and using it as his base of operations.

The occupation had been relatively easy. Since the two Deva ladies had seen little need to fortify an area in the middle of friendly territory, Orcris and his troops had been able to practically walk in and claim it as their own.

Of course, unlike the Deva, the Zarosians had every reason to need their position fortified, and as such, for the past few days, Orcris had them work in alternating shifts, building up defenses including ballistae and catapults which would be used should Harrier try to send troops over by the ravine via airships. Knowing the need for secrecy, Orcris had ordered his men to capture or kill all who came within sight of the bridge’s fortification. While doing this, it had quickly become apparent that Deva women and children would quickly surrender without putting up a fight. Too honorable to kill those who surrendered, Orcris had ordered that neither group of Deva be harmed in any way.

Just as he had done with Thomas, Amatsu had handpicked men he knew shared Orcris’ ideals, and thus, this order had been thoroughly followed, resulting in a decently sized prison camp appearing a little ways off of the bridge.

To Orcris’ relief, the captives behaved themselves exceedingly well, and soon the half-elf had reduced their guards to only several sentries, whose positions were mere formalities, since none of the prisoners seemed to have any intention of trying to escape.

However, being so used to dealing with Deva women had made Orcris’ scouting parties a bit softer than advisable. And soon Amatsu’s caution about the Asura women in Kutheostra’s employ was all but forgotten.

Because of this, when a Zarosian scout stumbled across a lone woman in the jungles not far from the bridge, he did*’t think twice about stepping out of the undergrowth and requesting her immediate surrender. No sooner had he done so, than he realized something was amiss; unlike Deva women who, from lack of physical labor, often have slender, almost fragile bodies, this woman had a body of athletic build which could only be brought about by constant physical exertion. Also, unlike the Deva women, she made no sign of being surprised, nor did she quickly announce her surrender. Instead, she made a muted nod at the Zarosian.

The scout did*’t have much time to ponder this before a hand closed over his mouth and quick slice from an Asura’s dagger had sliced through his throat.

After using a quick earth spell to rapidly bury the Zarosian’s corpse, the second Asura nodded to the first, who had served as bait, and both went on their separate ways. Words were unnecessary among them; They were of an elite group known as “the Silencers,” assassins who moved in front of an army, quickly and efficiently putting an end to enemy scouts and watchmen, and thus allowing their armies to get dangerously close to an objective before being detected.

Some distance behind the Silencers, Kutheostra was waiting on a group of violet robed mages who were scrying the bridge.

“The invaders have heavily fortified the bridge as you thought, Lady Kutheostra,” said one of the mages, “They set up a series of ramparts on either side of the bridge and have built a number of siege weapons.”

“So at least they’re competent,” mused Kutheostra, “By the way, is something wrong? You people are normally much faster than this.”

“Well,” muttered one of the mages, “I can** speak for the others, but using my powers actually took less effort…”

“But at the same time, it felt like something else was calling for your focus?” suggested a second mage.

“Yes,” replied the first.

“You weren’t alone,” said another mage, *I think all of us had the same experience.”

“You say your power was easier to use but you still couldn’t focus?” questioned Kutheostra.

“Our apologies,” said one.

“No need to apologize,” Kutheostra assured the mage, *I’ve also been feeling like something is amiss. Hopefully it doesn’t have to do with our enemies; did you notice anything suspicious at the bridge?

“No ma’am,” replied one of the mages. “It feels like whatever is drawing our attention is some distance away.”

“How odd,” muttered Kutheostra. She only had a moment to puzzle over this though, since her troops were already closing in on the bridge. But she had to admit it unnerved her; first finding demons lurking around the portal, and now this… Realizing the whole point of keeping demons near the portal was to prevent her from reaching Stork Capital, Kutheostra had immediately set out upon finding out about them. There was no doubt in her mind that something fishy was going on, and the bridge being fortified only served to confirm her suspicions. With this in mind, she forced her musings from her head and turned her full attention to preparing for the impending battle.

Only a few guards remained at Stork Capital, and all were grumbling to themselves about not being able to take part in hunting down the army they had soundly routed earlier. But protocol demanded that Lady Stork be at least granted an honor guard, and so one small regiment had been forced to stay behind.

To pass the time, several of the guards were making bets on how long it would take for their army to get back, and in order to make sure none of the others claimed an undeserved victory, several of them had their eyes on the road and surrounding jungle, and thus, it was quickly noticed when a young man approached the city.
