“That wall won't hold us for long,” Seth pointed out, “We'll...” Seth trailed off as a brilliant explosion appeared before his face.

“Seth!” shouted Hekate.

“Don't worry, I have a few scratches but nothing more,” said Seth, “I'm more surprised than injured. Did you even know he could use magic?”

Hekate turned to Chris in surprise. “I didn't,” she muttered, “And I've traveled with him before.”

“Well, I kept some secrets from you after all,” said Chris, “But I suppose I could show you now.*

*Show us what, exactly?” asked Hekate, “So you can use magic, big deal. So can I!” With these words, Hekate sent another ball of darkness at Chris. However, Chris deftly jumped aside, and muttered something under his breath.

Sensing another spell coming, Hekate jumped back, but to her surprise was unable to dodge as the spell hit, pelting her with... chicken eggs?!

*That is a very unorthodox spell,” commented Seth.

“Oh damn it!” shouted Chris, “My luck is usually better than that!”

“Luck?” asked Hekate, wiping egg off herself as best she could. “Wait, don't tell me... you're using Chaos magic?”

“And if I am?” Chris asked Hekate. While Chris was focusing on talking to Hekate, Seth ran forward and put Chris into a stranglehold.

“Chaos magic is far too dangerous,” Seth proclaimed, “To think you are actually foolish enough to use it...”

“Too dangerous, huh?” asked Chris, *Exactly what I'd expect to hear from a stuck-up Tenzoku. The element of danger makes it fun, ever thought of that?”

Seth sighed and said, “You're insane.”

“Maybe,” said Chris, “But I'm also winning.” As he said this, a spike shot from his back and stabbed into Seth, forcing him to fall back.

“What was that?!” he exclaimed.

“I didn't think I'd have to go all out,” Chris admitted, “But I intend to win, no matter what the cost.”

“And how are you going to do that?” questioned Hekate. "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."

“Well, for starters, this should help,” replied Chris, falling to all fours, his form shifting as he did so. Hekate gasped as she found herself not facing a human, but a large tiger.

“Shape-shifting?” asked Seth.

“It makes sense,” gasped Hekate, “Using chaos magic, shape-shifting... Seth, he's...”

“A Fanzoku,” finished Seth, “Well, this makes things more interesting.”

While Hekate and Seth were talking, the tiger turned to Hekate and lunged at her, however, even as it was about to reach her, something cold and hard struck it, knocking it to the ground.

“Sorry,” said Seth, now standing between Chris and Hekate, “I'm not going to let you harm my wife.”

“Think you can stop me?” asked Chris, still in tiger form.

Seth chuckled at this question and replied, “You forget, I haven't been fighting at full power. But don't worry, I'll stop holding back too.” With these words, a pair of shining wings appeared on Seth's back, and he pointed his sword at Chris. “So then,” he said, “Let's see how you hold your own against a Tenzoku.”

“Bring it on, I'll crush you in seconds,” taunted Chris, lowering himself to pounce again. A moment later, he was hurling backwards, and landed on his back, while Seth stood where he had previously been.

“What the hell?!” shouted Chris, barely managing to right himself and land on his feet.

“A while ago, my power was scattered in the form of luminescent crystals,” said Seth, “Hekate and I have been hunting those down. By now, I've already reached a quarter of my original power... furthermore, we are fighting near the Temple of Aither, as the child of light, my power has been vastly increased. So long as I am here, only the gods have a chance to defeat me.”

“Oh yeah?” said Chris, his form shifting again, this time to that of a werewolf, “Then I guess when I beat your face into the ground the gods will have to offer me a position among them.” "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. Sighing to himself, Seth charged toward Chris with such speed that he seemed to be no more than a blur. To his credit, Chris saw Seth coming and leaped aside, however, he was far too slow, and Seth's blade still cut deeply into Chris' side.

Chris clutched his side as he landed on his feet, however, it appeared the sword had done more than just cut him; for searing pain began to race through the cut, and in a few seconds more, the wound burst aflame, causing Chris to howl in pain.

“You were a decent opponent,” said Seth, “But you chose the wrong place to fight me. I'm afraid this is the end for you.” So saying, Seth pointed his sword at Chris' chest. Chris immediately tried to shape-shift but the intense pain from his wound and the burning made this impossible. “Farewell,” said Seth, raising his sword to strike.

“I wouldn't do that if I were you.”

Seth turned around and was shocked to find Hekate asleep, with a black knight pointing his blade at her throat.

“Unless, of course,” said the black knight, “You want your wife to die.”

“I recognize your voice,” said Seth, “What business do you have here, Iban? And how did you get Hekate asleep?”

“This should not be a surprise to you, Lord Seth,” commented a female mage, stepping out from behind Iban. “Your wife is a Mazoku, one of the race of darkness... she is quite weak whilst near Aither's temple. As such, she was unable to resist my spell.

“And why would I do that?” asked Seth.

“We have your wife hostage?” suggested Iban, “But don't worry, you'll get her back, after we are safely in Muspellheim. You have my word as a Kinshra.”

“I don't know how far I can trust your word,” said Seth, “But I will give you the benefit of the doubt... go ahead.”

“So gracious of you,” said a shrouded figure as he materialized next to Chris.

“Let him be,” said Iban, “Azdejak is with us.*

Seth frowned, but made no move to stop Azdejak as he picked up Chris and sprinted over to the Zamorakians.

“Thank you,” said Iban, “Now, if you give me your word as a Tenzoku that you won't attack us until after we have reached Muspellheim, I will leave your wife here. Do we have a deal?”

“We do,” hissed Seth.

“Alright then,” replied Iban, laying Hekate onto the ground, “We'll take our leave then.”
