“A rose petal,” he hissed, *But of course, no natural roses are blue...” So saying, he looked at Kevin, then at Kalechot. “Lucky for you kid,” he hissed, *I can't stick around and play, since SHE is coming here.” Moving from Kevin's side to Kalechot in the blink of an eye (and producing another boom in doing so) Asmodai grabbed the bow and said, “Now... who to give this to...? that egotistical worm would throw a fit if Zaros knew I was in this world... Ah... of course...” Looking back one last time at the barely conscious Kevin, and noting that more flower petals had begun to fall, Asmodai frowned and muttered, “Next time, boy... well, if you survive...” And with these words, both he and Kalechot vanished.
Kevin tried to move, but it felt like his body was mush; he could hardly squirm due to the intense pain, much less actually stand up. He groaned; it seemed that he was going to die here... well, at least the pain would be gone... However, just as he had given up, something soft and warm touched his face, and out of curiosity, Kevin opened his eyes.
Before him was the most beautiful lady he had ever seen... she wasn't, however, attractive; her beauty seemed to be that of something above humans, and thus, not something one should have passionate feelings for. Seeing her caused a long forgotten feeling to well up inside of Kevin. It reminded him of when, as a young boy, he would hurt himself, and come crying to his mother. She would take him into her arms and make him feel safe and loved... this feeling was similar, only stronger.
“Don't worry,” she said softly. “You'll be alright. Rest for now, the pain will go away and you'll heal quicker.”
For some reason, Kevin knew he could trust this lady, and shut his eyes; doubting that sleep would come easily, given the intense pain he was in. Yet, despite his prediction, the pain seemed not to be much of an obstacle, and he was nearly asleep within seconds of closing his eyes.
