The Void King: Setkul distanced himself from me, not the other way around. I admit I might have been a bit demanding of him, but nonetheless, the way he treats me, you'd think I was hellbent on tormenting him in every way possible. I've even heard he spread some rather vicious rumors about me. I assure you they are not true.

And please, call me Proi Asteri, not "Void King", I am but a first among equals. It is my wish to free every being in existence from the reign of that tyrannical being who calls himself "the Absolute." Even you must admit his arbitrary rules are rather annoying and restricting, and I see many of you humans are realizing that now. I compliment you on this. My allies and I will happily offer our aid so that you may overthrow the so-called "Absolute" and live in perfect freedom, no longer bond by those archaic morals some people cling to. After all, your understanding the powers of science and technology have made you above those remnants of superstition.


Diamond: You don't notice messages I send you while awake, so why would you notice messages sent in your dreams? If you pay more attention to what you encounter while awake or asleep you might be surprised.

Incidentally, I do feel obligated to mention that it is not often a wise decision to converse too long with the Void King. His mind is sharp and his tongue glib, as such he has deceived many. If you still decide to speak with him, keep your wits about you, and rely on reason, not emotion, he will mix truth with falsity in almost everything he says, but one who is alert can discern between the two.


Kevin: Phone? Strange, I don't know what that is, but the word seems familiar... As for why I can't chat often, right now, the Great Lord has me on an intelligence mission that forces me to follow Rue around (I'm fairly certain you know enough about Rue to realize that means my mission isn't pleasant.) I'll have to tell Nick about Saradomin, but I don't think it'll change much. There is much anger he must expel from his heart... Also, for Night: I haven't seen him, and he might be planned for further in or not at all, but is Nick coming into the story? I can unserstand if that's a maybe, but I'd like to know if you're definitely adding him, or if he's going in another of your stories.

-What do you do all day? Are you a classical being described in my world as one who "Rules over the underworld" awarding some of those with a peaceful heavenly afterlife and condemning others to a hell bent realm of torture?

-Do you, or do you not...believe the reaper is too awesome for this story?

-How was it that you came into being?

-If the answer to question #1 is yes...does anything happen to the soul/spirit of a being that has stayed in thes afterlives for a few eternities?

Death: Before I address your other questions I would like address your question about whether you are too awesome to be in "this story." I am the great equalizer; the arrogant as well as the humble are delivered into my grasp. The wealth of the rich cannot buy me off, nor can the might of the strong force me to submit (with the exception of a few lucky mages who now prance around worlds like they own the universe.) To me, proud or humble, rich or poor, mighty or weak, and awesome or mediocre are but vague and unnecessary concepts. Death is truly a neutral power, one which even Guthix respects, and you would do well to remember this.

Having said that, I do like your name; it is a combination of my mother's and what my followers call themselves. As a result I will instruct my subordinates to see that when your time comes you go in a painless, and perhaps pleasant matter.

As for your first set of questions. In the past, when there were much fewer mortals than there are today, I wandered the land, gathering the souls of those whose time had come. However, your numbers increased, and as such, I was forced to accept help in the form of a certain kind of Fey known as "the reapers." Just as happens in many of your mortal industries, I, who had experience and skill, was relocated from dealing with the actual craft that had been mine and put into "administration." Literally, I oversee the collection of souls, and only rarely show up to actually claim a soul. (Most of the time I show up, it is because yet another haughty mage is casting a spell in an attempt to become immortal.) Death (cont.) : As for what I do throughout the day, I work a twelve hour normal shift, plus dealing with any "emergencies" that pop up. For the most part, my work day is spent assigning death quotas to the various teams of reapers spread across the worlds, ensuring that they meet their quotas to the letter, dealing with clemency orders (which in my opinion should not exist) and ensuring the correct number and type of animals die each day. (This is surprisingly easier and less time consuming than dealing with sentient beings which have souls and life reels which need to be collected. As such, one being can often handle all the animal deaths, while each sentient death requires a reaper present.) My other duty is creating "Death Scythes" for my subordinates. These "Scythes" sever the soul from a body, and automatically collect the life reel. Misleadingly, they are not always in the shape of a scythe (mine is, and apparently you mortals began to associate the scythe with my profession so much, that it was easier to just call them scythes than think of a more proper name.) The can be in the shape of any tool that cuts, and I have made "scythes" that are swords, axes, and scissors. In fact, one reaper assigned to a country called England in the late eighteen-hundreds of that world, even came up with a scythe design that was a copy of a chain-saw, before humans had even dreamed up the concept!

Also, I do not, "rule over the underworld" the underworld is ruled by a Asura named Lilith, my job has always been to gather souls. My subordinates and I take the souls and life reels we gather to the "Hall of Judgment" where their fates are decided. If they are pure souls one of Azrael's subordinates takes them, if vile, than one of Sammael's used to take them (with the Void divided against itself, one can never be sure) and if seen as neither good nor evil, a reaper will take the soul back into the underworld so it can become holy enough to go to the divine realm. Death (cont.) : We do however, store the life reels of all the dead in a place called "The Reaper Library." I don't really know why we are supposed to, but the Absolute insists on it, and I'm not one to go against omnipotent beings that have always existed.

As for my origins. When the Absolute first made life, he entrusted it to the care of the primordial god of darkness, Erebos. Erebos was instructed to make beings that would both help to further and limit life. So using his power with some of that of the Absolute he created Eros, to act as the god of passionate love. I don't know why he did this, as the only life at the time was single-celled, and of course Eros was useless to such creatures... but then again in the long run, it turns out Eros is extremely effective on you mortals, so maybe Erebos just had foresight... Anyway, after creating Eros, and seeing Eros couldn't encourage the creation of new life, he used his power in concert with Eros and created Aphrodite, the goddess of "procreation" if you would. This satisfied the request to encourage new life, and he now needed a way to limit it. Thus I was created, yet in a different way. Erebos used the Void's power to destroy in accordance with his own to create me, as oppose to the Absolute's power to create.

Erebos then asked the first deity he had created, Nyx, the goddess of night to act as our mother. This she did excellently, and all of us, including my younger brother Hypnos, who was created by Erebos later, turned out as good, upstanding, and hard working deities.

I was originally set over non-sentient beings (your distant ancestors were in fact immortal) but after that whole "let's rebel and overthrow the gods" incident, my powers were extended to sentient mortals as well.

Void King: *sees Prefix pick up the mace. Cast illusion spell on him. Prefix runs around like a headless chicken, doing things he sees in the illusion.*
