Hello. In this thread I will provide users with a comprehensive review of any piece of literature that they care to have evaluated. Users who apply should realize that it is their duty as the author to properly edit their piece before asking for it to be reviewed; I am a reviewer and not an editor. I therefore will not be posting exhaustive lists of grammar mistakes in a piece. Further information on my reviewing process can be found by using the index, which is located in the next post.

I will also be compiling a list of past reviews. These can be found by using the index on the next post. These will include the review in its totality, including the application, review, score and submission score within the original application.

I will review poems, short stories, extended stories and unfinished pieces. Each has the same basic rubric for the time being. I am willing to create a new rubric if a short story or poem author wishes for me to do so.

All potential applicants should realise that I grade on a scale much harsher than most. This ensures that the prestigious ranks located at the bottom of this thread remain so. This also ensures that your story will improve more after a review of mine than a review of many other users in this forum. I boldly state that I am the most honest and critical of any reviewing establishment currently existing. I do not allow levels of reviewal: I will always review each and every piece with the utmost criticality, but also with sympathy for mistake. If you cannot handle criticism, please do not apply. If you would not like to see your story bettered, please do not apply. Please read the first fifty posts before applying.

I look forward to continuing to read the wonderful literature that our community produces and to working with authors collaboratively to remediate their pitfalls and improve upon their strengths.

If you have any questions, please post them. :)

By reading past this point, you are hereby guaranteeing that you have read the entirety of the following post. Not complying with this disclaimer will result in automatic discharge from any involvement within this thread and, if warranted, a report filed with the “I Need a Mod!” thread.
By applying for or responding to the results of an application on this thread, you are guaranteeing full understanding and accordance with the following facts:
Reviews in this thread are based solely off of my interpretation of your piece of literature and off of only my views on any given matter. Whilst discussions may ensure and alter small parts of my overall view, it shall take severe revelation to change a score. It is for this reason that all applications must be posted in a time frame of at least three weeks after the previous accepted application for the same story, regardless of edition.
Furthermore, requests for review reconsideration in order to raise a given score will be accepted only if posted in the proper format. All requests for reconsideration will be accepted on an individualized basis; most requests for a second reconsideration will be denied. All applicants should make their grand total in the rubric 137 in order to be accepted.
By posting an application on this thread you are accepting my review as final unless explicit proof is provided requisiting reviewal and reconsideration. Such proof must be posted in accordance of the proper format, as labeled above. You are also agreeing to not insult myself, this establishment, other users, or my method of operation should you receive a score in your review that you disagree with.
By accepting your application, I am vowing for the utmost professionality when reviewing your piece. I will not use previous prejudice in my review.

Rules Concerning Applying:

1. I will review only a single story at a time. I will not create a waiting list. This ensures that only active posters will receive reviews. Do not apply if I am currently reviewing a story.
2. I shall not accept incomplete applications. You are expected to read the entire introduction (posts 1-50) before applying. Failure to do so will result in a declination of your application.
3. I will critically review your story, labeling many different areas of the piece that need work. Please do not be offended if I am curt in designating shortcomings on your part. I will be very much honest in my review of your piece.
4. Please make sure that you are familiar with the above disclaimer before applying.
5. You are responsible for making sure that your piece is of the highest quality before I begin my reviewing. Whilst I will not label every mistake made, I will definitely take note of each. I shall also, if necessary, identify certain aspects of English that you are having trouble with; this process is about education, after all.
6. By *Type of Story” you must include one of the following: poem, short story, full story. You must also state whether or not your piece is finished.
7. List your length by posts, characters, or words.
8. You must NOT edit your application post under any circumstances.
9. Applications which break any rule are subject to refusal.
10. You must read my first posts (1-50) before applying.
11. Script stories are no longer accepted.

If you earn a 95% on the rubric, or 494 total points, you may use the following signature:

If you earn a 90%, or 468 total points, you may use the following signature:

Additionally, if your piece is of excellent quality, scoring a 90% or above, or if I find yourself and your personality to be of a quality I find benevolent, I will bump your thread whenever it reaches the end of the forums, unless otherwise directed. I shall furthermore save a copy of your story, saved up to the last completed portion at the time of reviewal, to post and reference in case the forum-version or your personal copy is lost.

The sources that I will be using to judge validity of English and structure will be “Writers Inc.” and “The Elements of Style”. If you have another source that you would like to submit for usage, please post this along with your application as a note. If it is not posted with your application, I will not use it.
If you have a general suggestion for another source that I should use in all other reviews, please post this at any time. I will take into consideration every suggestion.

Notice: If a component of your story contradicts my personal beliefs or those written in the above mentioned references, I shall deduct points appropriately. Only these sources will be taken into consideration when I review your piece, unless you follow the above stated directive.

I do not currently endorse any stories. I suggest reading The Hall of Fame sticky: it provides a lot of different styles, all of a great quality.

Bluemagic176 has been awarded the following signature, ¥ »» Rêçíþîèñ†, £í††érâtéùr ¤ ¥RÕ£G’Š Révîëwš «« ¥, and is therefore a recommended author. He earned this award through a story competition. :)
