"Wha' d'you mek o' this?" Karstone asked his companions, bewildered. He was standing in a puddle of stale blood, but there was no body to accompany it.

Hunt for Spirry

The soldier Enrael gasped for breath, eyes opening once more, hands reaching towards the hole in his chest where his armour had been pierced- his skin, his flesh, his vital organs, they were all regrowing! All around, the habitat of the Newborn was growing, overworking, pumping new life into the world, a life strange and foreign to that known by any of those there.

All around, it was like the church of the depraved and the damned, it was like hell come to earth, yet the citizens of the Empire had been taught that hell was a fiery place, a place of death. But this was a hell of flesh and blood, a hell of twisted bodily gore, a hell where new life was breathed into the planet, life that was disgusting and demented, twisted and evil, a hell which was unrivalled in its horror. And in the centre of it all stood the first demon, the Newborn, the Spirry, like some newly risen god, preaching everlasting life for those which joined in his cult.

Martha knew then that she was dealing with no mere demon. This was no mere disciple, no pawn in a grand game. This was a gamemaster in itself, this was an archdemon, a lord of the damned, a primordial and elder creature. This was the alpha of its race, and the omega of earth. It was everything that a god-fearing woman like the Decan had been taught to fear, to revile, to fight against since she was old enough to hold a sword.

And there was nothing she could do to stop it.

"Sir Charles was right," she muttered, as though in a dream, as though talking to no one and everyone. She watched as the monsters came crawling around, the spawn of the devil itself. Whatever this Spirry was, it was something beyond her capabilities, something more than these warring ogres, more than perhaps the empire itself.

"If your word is true, you will let us go unhindered," said Martha, in a voice stronger than how she felt. She had to remember her training, she had to remember that she was still in charge. Perhaps not of the situation, but of the contubernium. The lives of her soldiers rested in her hands, and right now her top priority was getting them out of here alive. They could not defeat Spirry, not like this. A formal retreat was all she could hope for.

"He will," assured Alania, as all around new beings, beings near enough as horrifying as Spirry himself, began to arise. Was this part of her mission? The new creatures set her on edge, it was yet another unexpected twist to the narrative. The good and the evil Spirry were not simply a choice of futures- they existed now, in this day, separated but at large. But if the other Spirry was working towards Soahc's demise... Then did that make the Spirry here, in front of them, the evil one? Were these children of Spirry the spawn of evil? Or were they misunderstood, lost? Were they new life, the start of something new and beautiful? Was this the will of Tyrrus?

"Thank you Henry," Alania said to the man, though her eyes lingered on Kat. The two were old friends, if friends was the correct term for it- they had both sailed southwards to Oil Elysia under the flagship of Captain Ryle Emeraldian. Alania felt a bond with the woman, but there was no way that she could abandon her mission. Alania had been given a vision, a vision from an angel with a voice like heaven, an angel who guided her on her path at the behest of a greater good.

"I'm sorry, Kat. I...," she had no other words to spare. She turned to Spirry, the giant, bleeding, hulking behemoth that was once a Newborn but was now not, both draconic and demonic.

"Spirry, I want to help you. Please, show me how."

Greater Ogrin

"What press ganging?" Asked Gorgon the Gorgon, frowning deeply. "Gorgon the Gorgon no like your questions. No one ask questions of Gorgon!" He butted his staff onto the floor, and a few sparks came out of the top and bottom of the dual-edged weapon. The buzzard on the ogre lord's shoulder was cocking its head side-wards, almost as if it was trying to express it couldn't understand a word of what the deranged knight was saying.

"This bird," Gorgon said of the bird, gesturing at it to explain that the bird on his shoulder was in fact a bird. "Gorgon likes birds. Gorgon get you bird too, when war done." The buzzard seemed to be staring into Sir Charles's eyes, its head no longer turned.

"Sircharles fight beast. Bird tell Gorgon the Gorgon this. Sircharles fight forgotten beast before. Now forgotten beast in Ogrin, kills ogres. Too big for even Gorgon the Gorgon. Sircharles make Captal City drown in blood. Sircharles now make new forgotten beast drown in blood."

Despite the deformed half-attempt of the ogre king at communicating in the common tongue, one thing could be certain from the Gorgon's tone of voice. He was not simply asking, (well, demanding,) he was begging.

March of Darkness

The centaurs charged, some slipping on the blood Spirry puked out, some tripping on the bony projections that grew out the flesh. But the charge continued, trampling through the bony things, some galloping while flaming after passing through Kira's flaming wards, arrows and javelins arching through the air, and scythes and scimitars brandished.

Some arrows were shot at Spirry's direction, but being blind, Mechanical did not make much of a reaction. A dozen or so arrows thudded against him, some bouncing off the mechanical parts. The arrows that poked through his wings made his flight less effective, and he felt his hovering weaken. The centaur who galloped underneath him felt blood trickle down their heads and necks but this did nothing.

With little to do, and gradually unable to fly from the rips in his wings, Mechanical dove into the herd, spreading his wings and limbs on the last moment, receiving perhaps many arrows and javelins during his descend, blades glancing off his mechanical framework. The impact was probably heavy, but being a broiling, red-hot metal-demon gushing blood, any centaur who trampled or ran into him would feel quite a hot surprise!

Probably feeling hooves and bodies smashing into him immediately, Mechanical erupted into a blazing state, body engulfing in flame while gushing out boiling blood, and he steamed thoroughly. Anything going close to him, even if he was trampled into the ground, would probably feel the fire, the steam, and the sizzling blood spattering everywhere. It'd probably be quite uncomfortable.

While on the ground, Mechanical would extend his arms and legs outwards, so that as the centaurs galloped passed him, he would try to align his clawed hands and feet so that the centaurs (nearby him) would across them, and so hamstring or hock themselves. If centaurs trampled upon Mechanical, his red-hot machinery in his torso especially would probably be enough to burn away that intent.

Hunt for Spirry

At least Enrael came back to life. Indeed, Spirry's presence birthed new life, hellish and damned yet amidst life, though of less fire, perhaps a contrast to Mechanical, whose trademark was machinery and fire amidst destruction, though of less flesh. The other Newborns, demonic yet animalistic bodily growths, crawled around, yet did nothing, exploring. Then, something surprising, Martha spoke, about leaving. What Martha said surprised Spirry, who tilted his head and looked at her. Alania was sure he would. Alania wanted to help him, and said that she wanted to help him.

“But the children, those born of forever-growing flesh... they are waiting for you. Don't you want them as your own flesh and blood? Well, I suppose obviously not. You—you soldiers—all attacked me, you all wanted to kill me, but instead, I was the one who did the killing. Not only have I killed you, I brought you back from the dead, at least some of you.” Spirry said, body cracking and popping as he regenerated.

Clearly, he had changed; he was no longer childish, but growing up, becoming stronger both physically and magically, perhaps something closer to Mechanical. He looked back at Martha and her soldiers.

“If you want to leave, you may, I won't stop any of you, for there are more serious things going on. But if you leave the flesh of this forest, you will no longer be like it. It is only my presence that has prevented your deaths. If you are killed again—beyond the flesh growth—you will truly die. The regeneration only works so long as you are within the forever-growing flesh.” He continued, the beings crawling around and sometimes sniffing or poking things with their noses, then suddenly Spirry looked towards the east, and pointed eastward with one arm for a second, looking back at Martha.

“There, the eldritch, the Eight-Legged One has risen. It moves like smoke and shadows, and fights like mountains of lightning. It is destroying the ogres by itself; the ogres will bathe in their own blood. I have never seen such a gigantic beast. It is a beast that can slay gods, to bring the future back faster.” Spirry said, then looked at Alania to answer her question with his own question.

“Alania, do you now know what lies beyond the boundary of life and death, light and dark, good and evil, heaven and hell... you can't have one without the other. Either you are trapped, like a small insect in a spider's web, in an eternal rhythm of creation and destruction, or you are the weaver of that web. If you want to help me, then, truly, what is it that you want?

Joric Ironfist

Joric had fallen into a rhythm. Bring his shield up to block attacks, quickly lash out at openings with his axe, and either duck under or absorb attacks that could not be blocked, all the while listening to Etheldredda battling Hagspawn behind him. If she fell, he would most likely be swarmed.

He could see the spiders now, pushing their way through the Hagspawn ranks. "This'll be an interesting tale to spin after you're all defeated!" The dwarf taunted. It was then that he heard Etheldredda shout, and he immediately turned to look, spying an opening that she had created in the Hagspawn ranks.

Right into the middle of the coven.

He turned brought his shield up just in time to block a swing made by another member of the coven, a metal mace clanging off of his shield. Joric then proceeded to shield bash her square in the chest, throwing her off balance, but he did not follow up with another attack. Instead, he turned and ran, turning spear thrusts aside with his shield and ducking under sword swipes, barging straight through the opening that Etheldredda had created.

He quickly took stock of the situation. Rovaan had entered the fray - wildly swinging around his massive Sword of Compensation. Zed had disposed of numerous Hagspawn in the center with a lightning barraged. Prisoners had been freed, and were charging into the fray, only to be mercilessly cut down. Skullvulture had just thrown a Hag into the fire and...

Oh no.

He heard stomping in the distance. Did the ritual require a Hag sacrifice, and had the Black-armored titan just summoned the Hagfather? Or had they simply been too slow to disrupt the ritual?

It almost made his blood boil. But either way, Rovaan had clearly failed in his task to slay the Great Mother, but her protector had just been dealt with by Skullvulture, and the other hags had been distracted with the ritual. The Great Mother herself was distracted...

Shield raised high to block whatever nefarious spells she could conjur, Joric charged the witch, intent on ending her life once and for all. His footsteps thundered across the grass, and his armor clanked like someone had walked into a kitchen and started throwing silverware all around the room, but hopefully it would be drowned out by the sound of battle.

If he could cross that distance without being stopped, Joric would then let out a wordless battlecry and attempt to drive his axe into the Hagmother's back.

Cirion

"A god who does not wish to be worshiped has no faithful. And why is he handing his power out to ten year olds?" Cirion asked - he had been skeptical of the Engelite gods' existence in the first place. But all these people claiming to be Avatars, the emergence of Soahc... were they real? Where did that put the other religions - that of the elves, or even the dwarves?

He was tempted to ask if these so-called visions from Arran were actually visions from Soahc, trying to manipulate them... but he doubted that. He had seen Annie's power with his own eyes - no child could develop that naturally, and he doubted Soahc was able to or willing to spare that much power. Of course, this was mostly speculation and assumption, but they had little to go on. This was also the one centaur who seemed ready to help them and not charge blindly into battle.

"Anyways..." Cirion began, changing the subject. "If Soahc is here, it'll be for a reason. As I said, possible targets will include any sacred sites, artifacts, or natural ruins in the area. Do you know of anything that might be a target?"

He was starting to grow impatient. Soahc's army was coming, and they had no information.

Brodus

The archers had managed to send off several volleys before the herd came near, and that was all Brodus could have helped for. Close range, they would be defenseless and go down quickly, and the spearmen line was not long enough to hold back the centaurs.

Black blade shining in the sunlight, Brodus then proceeded to make short work of his archer minions, salvaging traces of their energy. Although it was not enough to resummon them, it added to his reserves.

Then, he walked around the rest of his minions and stood in front of the spearmen, pointing his blade at the leader of the herd in challenge.

-----

Gorm

Gorm walked without further comment or facial expression. If the elf stepped out of line and became a problem, he could be dealt with.

Eventually they came across the remains of a battlefield. The dwarf knew about the war - it was what brought him here. What surprised him was the massive crater in the middle. He took a step forward and peered down it, before lifting up a rock and dropping it down - obviously judging it to be more effective at measuring distance than Karstone's spitting technique.

Shrugging at Karstone's question, the dwarf pulled out his poleaxe and began wandering the battlefield, nudging the ogre bodies with either his foot or the butt of his weapon, checking to see if any were still alive.

Annie was very happy that her vines had tied the guards up and then knock them out. She released the prisoners from this slave pits and started to lead them to freedom. Then she saw some the prisoners go insane for revenge for the hags did to them. She yelled to them,"Stop! Follow me! Fight your way out!" She looked the slaves who was still in the pits and yelled," Follow me! I am here to free you! Trust me!" She fought in front of the prisoners. She killed many of the hags by swing her sword and using her powers. One of the hag snuck up on her and stab her in the hip and the leg. She screamed in pain but killed that hag. But she kept fighting and freeing slaves. The wounds that she got was kinda bad. Then another hag hit her in the arm. She killed that one.

She felt the Hagfather had been summoned. She decided to get the slaves out of here and then help the others to destroy the Hagfather.

----—-------------------

Judy was enjoying the boat ride to get to the land of hags. When they got there she listened comment about the hags summoned the Hagfather and now she has to summon a demon. She repiled," yes, I feel it too. Let's get that demon Summon!" She did everything that she did to summon azi. She was able to summon a new demon and told it to kill Skullvulture. Then said in a tired voice,"it's done."
