Kaisen reached the rock face of a cliff at Arrandar. As he turned to run back, however, he was stopped by a man. The man wore a long black cloak with a hood that covered his face. Kaisen recognized him as the man that took away Zorrath's body.
"Greetings, Kaisen," the Sage said.
"Zharoun! I knew it was you!" The man lowered his hood to reveal the Sage of Trollweiss. "What are you doing in Isafdar?"
Zharoun smiled. "Helping you. I needed to make certain that you completed your task and received the crystal."
"How did you know that we were here already?"
"My friend Zavistic Rarve sent me a message. I received it and destroyed it shortly before Agaben's army invaded my caves, so, since I had been forced to flee my cave already, I decided to come help you."
"So it was you that killed the elf!"
Zharoun nodded. "It was regrettable that I had to kill him, but there was no other way. He died for the good of RuneScape. At least the dragon egg was not taken."
Zharoun looked upset that he had to kill someone. Kaisen decided to change the subject. "What of Zorrath?"
"Ah, he is safe. I used a sleep spell on him and healed his wound. He is recovering in a cave I have called my home for several days."
"Why are you staying away? Couldn't you convince Aardi to give me the crystal?"
Zharoun shook his head. "I'm afraid that is impossible. Aardi is not very friendly to me. In fact, the last time he caught me in Isafdar, he ordered his guards to kill me."
Kaisen was afraid of that. "So I'm on my own?"
"Yes. Also, you need to head back. If I'm not mistaken, you are under a time limit."
Kaisen did not stop to ask how he knew. He just ran back to Lydius to try and make up for lost time.

Kaisen arrived back to Lydius, and Lydius smiled. "Very good. You have finished my training."

"Thank you, Master Lydius."

Lydius bowed to him. "Now, I must be off."

"Wait!" Lydius stopped and listened. Kaisen continued, "I may be fast, but I still can't beat the dragon. What do I do?"

Lydius sighed. "Young mage, there is no records to look back on. No one has ever done this before. Therefore, you are on your own."

Kaisen lowered his head. Lydius continued, "But no one has ever undertaken the quest you have borne, and you have done it quite well. Trust your instincts. You are the only one that can perform the task. And above all, remember the objective Aardi is stressing. I realize that he doesn't want you to win, but it is the hardest quests that tell you the most about yourself. Good luck."

Lydius left the meadow, leaving Kaisen to his thoughts.
