Post a two post thing here, including:
- Qualities of a good horror.
- What makes a good horror.
Expand on subjects like that. Define the Horror story, but make it so that one could learn how to write a good one.

All right, so you want to write a horror? Horror is one of the many topics that are pushed out of line, but will that stop you from writing one? No. Anyways, this will teach you the many ways and techniques of writing a horror story.
First, let’s get down to the basics.
-You always want to start writing a story on Microsoft. That is highly suggested due to the fact that it tells you how to spell words you don’t know etc etc etc.
-When you write, DO NOT use L33t, do not write like, “u r scry” and please, for the sake of our eyes, don’t use caps.
Anyways, onward with this.
Now, when you want to write a horror story, you’ll need to think of something that will be *The Horror”. It can be a monster, a killer, a ghost, anything that brings fear to people. But, you can’t just throw them in there and say, “Oh look a monster what do we do!?” you need a back round behind all of this. So let’s get started, shall we.
Horrors
The horror of the story is vital and extremely needed. Without this, then the story has no horror at all. Now, you must first pick what your horror will be. So let’s say you choose a vampire. Now what you must decide is how you will introduce the back round of the vampire and introduce the vampire itself. An example could start out with a simple farmer in the prologue at night. While he was sleeping, the farmer hears one of his cows, chickens, etc squeal or whatever they do. He runs out there and finds one of his horses brutally slaughtered. So now you have the reader interested (if you wrote it well). Now it’s time to introduce your horror!
Have the vampire attack farmer in some dramatic scene. Add suspense, detail, and emotions in this scene.
And then later, your main characters will role in. These are the people who are usually trying to stop or kill the horror, but some of them may get killed. Now that you have your horror introduced, you must now make his back round.

Possibly during the story, you have one of the main characters find the tomb of where the vampire came from. The main character then finds strange tools and objects, and he/she then realizes that some whack* scientist MADE the vampire.
This part should explain the back round very well. It can be put in the prologue, and a scientist is creating a vampire when it goes out of control and kills the scientist. After that, the vampire escapes and creates chaos.
But remember: It doesn’t HAVE to be a monster. It can be a human, you know.
If you DO choose a human, I suggest starting out the prologue with this man/woman as a child who obviously is having a rough life. Then something dramatic happens: Parents are killed, friend is killed, something like that.
Now the he/she is very mad, and they want revenge. So, they become a murderer. They could use a chainsaw, or a knife, or maybe even eat people with cannibalism. Now, this is just a suggestion, but there are many other ways to introduce your horror. Remember: BE CREATIVE!
Main Characters
Now for your main characters. When something like a monster is in town, there is always a group of characters (or maybe even one character) that is trying to stop it. These characters must be described well, possibly have some sort of connection with the other characters (optional), and must have separate emotions and personalities. Now, once that is done, they must be introduced. After your prologue, your character(s) should be introduced soon. They can wake up in the morning and do their daily routine, or they could be some investigator investigating a scene. Your pick.
After that, describe them, blah blah blah, and then they must meet the horror. This part HAS to be written well. The character could be hunting with a friend when they notice something in the trees, or if the horror is a human killer, the main character could meet them at a market, and the killer will try to kill them the next night.
