Chek, Could this possibly merit taking up a reserved spot on the thread? I apologize for the length of it, I have to leave in a minute. If not, at least it's posted here for those who find it helpful. Thanks!
-=- Punctuation -=-
Punctuations can truly define your ability as a writer. Anyone is capable of writing thought out sentences, whether they know it or not. However punctuation, if used correctly, can give your stories an entirely new meaning.
• Period - The period is used after a sentence to signify it's completion.
• Comma - The comma is an easy punctuation to over use, and use incorrectly. Hence, it should be used as a last resort if your sentences are short. The comma is used to separate thoughts, which are used within the same sentence.
• Hypne - The hypne is primarily used when listing several items, or in numbers. Seventy-three uses the hypne. This is a wonderful tool when writing numbers, or listing several items during a report. However, they should be used sparingly if at all during a word. These are NOT used in abbreviations such as "They're". It is "they're" not "They-re"
• Quotation Marks - Quotation marks are handy to use when a character is speaking. This "Outlines" Where they character *tarts talking, and where they end.
A Handy Tip for Runescape:
Because Runescape uses it's forums to post stories, there is always the issue of indentation. Indentation should ALWAYS be used at the beginning of a new paragraph. However, because Runescape does not allow multiple spaces, Writers as well as ASCII Artists must resort to using the "Soft-Hypne" key.
This may be Achieved by Pressing the space bar, and then holding down the "ALT" key while you type in "0173" in the keypad. you will not see anything happen because it is a character with no space. So you want to go Space / 0173 / Space / 0173 / Space. This will help your paragraphs from collapsing.
