The archer could only stand there frozen in terror as the knight bore down on him. And then Darius's lance, aimed low, pierced the bandit's chest, impaling him. The three other knights who had been accompanying him were not far behind.

The hatchet-wielder had stopped his charge when he saw the knights riding in. He was no fool - he knew he didn't stand a chance against the knights. And even though Andrew was mere feet away, his back turned, the bandit still turned and ran off into the woods. Hopefully the horses would not be able to follow him.

The two swordsmen, however, were too caught up in their respective engagements with Andrew and Nameless to notice or do anything about the charge. Meanwhile the bandit mage was only just standing up.

Focused on nothing but surviving the nameless Mage didn't have the concern 'nor time to see the calvary charging in to the rescue. Instead he was merely focused on the situation arising, how the hell would he escape this!

Without a moments hesitation a thin purple glass-like barrier developed in the small space between the swordsmen's sword and his own neck. Quickly the barrier began to crack and in just a seconds time shatter under the force of the bandits blow. It wasn't meant to last. Instead just give the nameless man just enough time to side step out of the way.

Raising his left arm again in the same style as he did before to absorb the other mage's spell, he created what seemed to be just a ray of physical magic to weak to take form, but strongest enough to make an effect. He slammed his arm back down to his side and the day followed rushing downward towards the bandit. An almost surety of a hit. That was the last of the magic he'd absorbed so if this didn't work he had almost no other defense's save if the female Mage would so kindly help him again.

Cain noticed one of the bandits was going into the forest he knew these horses wouldn't be able to get to him through the trees so he signaled with his hand back towards Lyna who understood and ran for the forest at full sprint.

Riding on his steed gripping the lance Cain went for the mage tucking his head down behind his horse while dipping the lance low hoping to catch. Hoping his horse was faster then the mage could cast or that he could catch the mage off guard.

Lyna ran into the forest, being an elf she is more natural in a forest setting, following the order of her knight to pursue the one bandit that was getting away. She pulled her knife dagger out of her pouch and continued to purse the bandit. Even though she was one person she had her magic to fall back on to make illusions of the stuff around her.

Lyna might be a bit sassy and tough, but wasn't one to disobey, she her job done when she is told to. Her main objective was to catch this bandit that was trying to get away. Seeing how she is faster than a normal human she knew this was the task was one she had to do.

These bandits definitely made good use of their shields. Andrew sidestepped to avoid the bandit's thrust, chiding himself for that reckless move. He backed away from the swordsman and took a defensive stance.

Andrew knew he was sorely outgeared*the bandit's sword and shield combination significantly overpowered Andrew's single handed sword. Even the bandit's leather armor, normally pathetic compared to any guard, soldier, or knight's metal armor, was still better than Andrew's meagre wool sweater. He was accustomed to fighting criminal scum in cramped spaces and dark alleys. Open combat was definitely his weakness.

Still, a random highwayman couldn't be that much more skilled than him, right? So he couldn't allow himself to be discouraged. Luckily, even more help came in the form of four mounted knights and two squires. He sensed the horses first—he could easily distinguish animals from humanoids, and given their relatively focused disposition he could surmise they were trained warhorses.

The knights were able to kill a few bandits and rout some more, but the one Andrew was engaged with was still holding his ground. Andrew couldn't get close, as a good thrust, hilt smash, or shield bash would end him quickly. So his plan was to play defensive and wait for the bandit to make the next move, or for one of the knights to intervene. He tightened his stance and slowly paced to his left.

Marc saw the other knights charge off towards the sound of fighting "Finally some action!" He said quietly to himself.

Marc readied his lance and plunged his horse towards the bandit attack. He saw one man fighting with a bandit, and to his trained eyes appeared to be on the back foot, fighting defensively. The knight naturally set his sights on the assailant of this man, and charged towards him at full pelt, hoping to lodge his lance straight through his chest.

The Robbery Gone Wrong

The bandit had brought his sword back and was about to launch another attack when the ray of magic hit him. He was knocked to the ground, laying on his back. He stayed in that position for a second or two, and then suddenly he sat up and swung his sword at the mage's knees, hoping to take out his legs.

The mage turned just in time to see Cain's horse charging towards her. Her eyes widened, and she quickly leapt out of the way at the last second, once again throwing herself to the ground. Cain just missed her. She quickly stood up and began to run back into the forest...

...only to be stabbed by Sir Richard's lance.

The final bandit who was still on the road and standing seemed to have the same idea as his opponent. He made no move to attack Andrew, and instead kept his shield up and waited for him to attack first. He had the shield and thus the advantage. But because of this deep concentration, he didn't hear Marcus's approaching horse until it was too late.

He turned just in time for Marcus's lance to impale him through the chest.

-----

The Forest

The hatchet bandit kept running, hoping to put as much distance between himself and the road as possible. Praying that the knights hadn't seen him run, or that his former allies would buy him enough time to get far enough away so the knights wouldn't find him.

But then the revelation quickly dawned on him that he was being followed. He kept running, but soon realized his pursuer was gaining ground. So he immediately stopped and spun around one hundred and eighty degrees, his shield up and his hatchet at the ready. A young looking woman wielding a knife. Probably just a squire. But still, he knew he had deal with her quickly and keep running, and a look of determination was on his face.

Marc flinched slightly behind his helmet as he felt his lance make contat with the bandit and slide between his ribs. "It never gets easier. Killing." He said aloud, sliding the bandit off of the lance and returning it to it's resting place on his shoulder.

"Everyone okay?" He asked, looking around at his fellow knights, as well as the group who were under attack. "Any casualties?"

Marc looked down from his horse onto the man who was under attack from the poor soul who got in the way of his lance "Are you alright?" He said, descending from his horse while holding the reins to keep the steed in check.

The approaching horseman took the unnamed Mage by surprise as they rode by in an assault against the same bandits he'd been fighting. He didn't recognize there attire but that also wasn't uncommon for him. He'd never been to Greenhaven, not yet anyhow, that was where he was headed now.

One of the Knights impaled the female Mage opposite of him....what a shame, he was in need of her. Especially after this.

The unnamed Mage lifted his leg and slammed it onto the top of the sword that was targeted at his knees. Instantly the pain shot up his leg as the blood stained blade worked its way into the bottom of the mage's foot. It wasn't to deep considering the distance between the two but enough to cause problems.

With the bandits blade stuck in the bottom of his foot he saw his opportunity. Raising the staff with a firm death grip around the centre of the weapon, he sent the bottom sharpened portion downward in hopes of doing the same to this man as he did the female archer. Break his neck.

Forest

Lyna saw the man turn getting ready to face her. She saw the shield come up so she was going to try and be more agile then the shielded axe wielding bandit. She ran at him getting ready for an attack.

Outside the forest

Cain looked around then said, "I sent Lyna after the one in the forest, she will be able to deal with him." He was looking for more bandits not get jumped by any more around.

Andrew recognized that his opponent had the same idea as him, and continued to stand his ground. But he only needed to wait another second before one of the knights rode him down and dispensed that famous Greenhaven justice.

He broke his combat stance and loosened his muscles. The knight asked if he was alright, and Andrew nodded. He only briefly made eye contact with the knight, before breaking his gaze and looking at the fallen bandits.
