--------------------------------Chapter 10------------------------------------

Vakund woke to the murmur of voices in a strange house. He felt weak and found it difficult to move, his whole body was sore and painful. His head span slightly at first but quickly started to clear.
'It cannot stay here!'
'He not it!, besides he seems harmless.'
'Ha you say that now but you'll feel differently when....he chews on your bones and you feel guthix's warm embrace.'
'Don't be so judgemental!'
'Bah, that gnome should of, left that cursed creature to die on the mountain!'
Va**** suddenly realised the voices were talking about him, he rose slowly, trying not to draw too much attention to himself. He saw that the two people arguing were druids.
'We should send IT into the dungeon the dragons can chew on HIS bones.'
Vakund decided to say something:
'That is generally not how you look after a wounded traveller.' He said it slightly smugly. Both druids whipped around in surprise, neither had seen him wake, too focused on arguing.
'The beast stirs.' said one of the druids.
'Oh do be quiet Kaqemeex and go find Sanfew he will want to meet with OUR resident.' The other druid paused then said:
'Fine whatever you wish Pikkupstix,' and then left without another word.
'I'm sorry about him, he doesn't see you as the human you are but the beast that.....lays within.' Said Pikkupstix.
'I understand,' Vakund replied.

A few moments later an elderly druid entered the house, he looked slightly pleased.
'So you have woken,' he approached Va**** straight away.
'We thought it would take longer, but you are a fast healer possibly because of your nature.' Sanfew was beaming. Vakund was perplexed, he had not expected such a reaction from a none wolf. At first he was lost for words, but then the came to him.
'Thank you for your kind hospitality, it is much appreciated, but you must tell me, how long have I been here?
'You have been here 4 days,' replied the elderley druid.

Vakund was relieved, had been expecting longer.
'You must be Sanfew.'
'Yes that would be correct, but tell me, what is your name?'
'My name is Vakund, I'm a werewolf orginially from Canifis in morytania but the I suppose you already knew that?'
'Yes When we gave you a potion you reacted in a normally unobserved way, and it had the opposite effect on you. We knew from that point what you were.' Vakund nodded.
'But something intrigues me, how did you get out of Morytania? The river salve prevents any of your kind from leaving that land.'
'It's something I have never been sure about, I was walking in the swamp with my family one day when suddenly we were attacked by vampyres, they were killed, but I was only knocked out. When i woke up it was a month later and i was in a desert, in some sort of hospital. Once i was dicharged I explored the nearby towns and cities, exploring ways to get back to morytania, in the end I realised the only way to back was to jump the river salve. So I collected a small bit of money together and made a journey my ship to karamja where i travelled to the agility dungeon to train for that moment so i could return. I have been there 2 years now, I set myself up as a hunting expert and lived there happily.' Vakund faded into silence.
'So why did you leave? Do you think you are ready to jump the river?' Sanfew asked
'I do not know, I had to leave due to....unfortuneate circumstances....' Vakund looked away ashamed, hw knew that both druids knew what he meant.
'And you have ben travelling ever since?' Sanfew asked.
'Yes,' replied Vakund, a tear had appeared in his eye.
'Well once you have healed we will let you on your way, I too know what it is like to miss what you consider home,' Sanfew smiled. Vakund relaxed as he relised he was in no danger and in good company.
'Come Pikkupstix let us leave Vakund in peace, he requires rest.' Pikkupstix nodded and followed Sanfew out. Vakund took a deep breath, lay back down and difted off to sleep.

------------------------------------chapter 11--------------------------------------

The knights had just picked up their new rune armour from the smiths, they were now awaiting for the rune long swords from the champions guild. The rangers were busily fletching mithril and adamant arrows and the mages were collecting together runes. King Roalds search party would be much stronger and better prepared than last time, in a few days they would mobilise and strike Morytania. Roald had lost public favour recently over the failed mission and rumours that dark forces were gathering to destory Varrock whilst he seemed to stand idly by. He hoped with this new mission to prove his critics wrong and win back public opinion.
His group was twice the size of the last mission and they were much more experienced. he had also poured a lot of money into them, he had spared no expense.

The warriors continued getting ready, but they were still awaiting the food an potions being sent from Catherby and Taverly and it was said that they were about a day away. It didn't really matter there was still a lot to prepare for, and they needed to rest after yesterdays hard training fighting revenants in the wilderness, even with so many of them it was tough but they had proved they could work effectively in a group. They were all thinking that nothing in Morytania could oppose their combined might......

Another wagon approached Burgh De Rott, Veliaf had hoped for good news, but he knew he wouldn't get it. As they wagon entered through the gates, Veliaf saw soem bloodstained sheets covering something; more bodies. Over the last few days more had turned up, they were the bodies of the first group with the amount that had been tirned up Veliaf had thought they had found the entire group but he had noticed that some of the bodies had belonged to other people travelling through the swamp.
'Suicide,' he though to himself. What worried him most was not being able to understand what did this.

The state of the bodies indicated that it was not the work of vampires and humans and there were too many bodies to this be werewolves. Sometimes he had thought that there could be a new terror learking in the Morytania, but he suddered at the thought and tolf himself he was overeacting.

Even so he had observed increased vampyre activity, they had been snooping around the village more than usual and although they were always killed or repelled, he couldn't help being worried. These were dark times and he knew it.
'The time had come,' he thought to himself, he was going to start the long planned fortification of Burgh De Rott. Starting tomorrow he would get everyone to help, first building up strong walls with planks and metal sheets and then work on the buildings. First he would start setting up a proper smithery and workshop with storage so weapons could be made effectively. Then he would build a church and re-inforce the houses to be able to stand up to attack. It woudl take time he knew he may not have but the sooner it started the better.

King Roald would be sending in his troops any day now and Veliaf didn't know what debry could fly up from the incident, he had to be ready, the whole of Burgh De Rott had to be ready.......

-----------------------------CHAPTER 12-----------------------------------------

Canifis was still reeling from the deaths, none of the villagers knew what could of done this and many suspected each other due to hunger. Mogomir hid round the back of his house carrying out crafting and fletching, he didn't want to go into the village center because it had the feeling of a civil war in the air. Morgomir was scared. He was scared that violence would break out and wolves would be hurt if not killed.
Morgomir took a supple branch and began fletching a long bow, it took him an hour or so but he was proud of it, it was his best one yet. He opened the wooden crate that was behind his out and fished out one of his last pieces of bow string, he needed to get more but they were expensive, afterall flax didn't grow in Morytania. He attacked the fibreous material to the bow and and then tidied the bow up a bit with his knife to finish it off. It was ashame the local wood was so poor, otherwise he could make much better bows; he was mulling over whether Fidelio could get him some oak or maybe even willow logs the next time he restocked his shop when something moving in the swamp caught his eye. He looked carefully trying to pinpoint what had moved, nothing moved. The swamp was eerily still and quiet.
Morgomir stood up quickly, furiously looking for what had moved, still nothing. then a gust a wind blew through and everything became animated again, the tree brances swayed, the muddle swamp waters bubbled and large leaches wriggled around in the thick mud. Morgomir was deeply unconvinced that that was natural, he'd never seen stillness like that, it was like the swamp had become frozen in time. he breated deeply and then sat back down, he picked up some large sticks and immediately began fletching arrow shafts.
He practised his markmanship against the trees behind his house, if he fired it out towards the swamp he knew he'd never get them back, he only missed once.

Finally at the end he notched the weakest of his arrows and aimed out towards the swamp, he pulled the string back and steadied his aim. He let go and the arrow fired off across the mud and the low vegetation, he watched it as it flew straight and true and then dip and dive into a body of water; he heard a slight splash and lots of squelching noises, he must of disturbed some leaches.
In the evening after dinner (more of those disgusting slimy eels!) he sat by the fire and started working some snake skin leather that he'd had for a while. So far he'd made some boots and some leggings but he wanted to finish off the set with a body and a bandana. Most wolves laughed at him creating armour which couldn't be worn when they shifted thinkign it was pointless, however a few wolves such as his father were supportive of this, afterall apart from Sbott the tanner and Barker who ran the clothes store the wolves of Canifis were rather lacking in skills. Morgomir had learned his craft from Sbott, Barker a few books his father had and another wolf, Vakund. Vakund had been a good friend to Morgomir and was much more skilled than Morgomir, when he had disappeared Morgomir had been very sad, Vakund had been like a brother to Morogmir.
When it was fully dark outside there was a knock at the door, Morgomir's father answered it and to both of their surprise it was Mazchna the resident slayer master.
'Can i come in?' he asked 'I've something important to say.'
'Of course,' Morgomir's father replied. Morgomir hastily put the leather he was working on away and pulled up a chair close to the fire for Mazchna to sit on. Mazchna sat down on it thanking Morgomir and then began to speak.
'Draken returns soon for more tithes, I've seen increased vampyre activity here in the last day or so.'
'Are you serious?' Morgomir's father asked, somewhat desperately. Mazchna nodded.

----------------------------Chapter 13-----------------------

It was dusk, Vakund was sitting by the river that ran along taverly; eyes closed, listening to the soft babbling of the water. It was so soothing. As darkness finally gripped the world Vakund opened his eyes and stared into the clear waters, he saw fish lazily swim by murky sediment rising from the bottom as the fish kicked their tails. Vakund reached for a stick that had washed up against the bank and was in the process of sharpening the end with a sharp stone when Sanfew walked up to him. Vakund could smell him before he saw his reflection in the dark water, there were plenty of lights on nearby and werewolf eyes were much sharper than that of humans.
'Vakund I have some bad news.' Sanfew said, there was a hint of doubt in his voice.
'What is it?' Vakudn asked, turning around to face the elderly Druid.
'King Roald has made a declaration, a declaration to find the missing warriors in Morytania and to destroy any resistance or suspects in the disappearances.....' Sanfew trailed off; Vakund knew exactly what he meant.
'We must go at once, we cannot delay********* sad it heavily and firmly, however the druid knew it would be foolish to travel now as everyone was tired, somewhat ironically from making and preparing the supplies for King Roald's search party.
'We cannot, we all need to rest and prepare ourselves for what is afoot. The King has made a declaration but his men have not begun their quest yet, though it is suspected they will leave the tomorrow or the day after, apparently there has been complications with getting in the supplies due to highwaymen.' Vakund knew Sanfew was right but he didn't want to wait, he knew his people were in grace danger if he couldn't alert them in time. He stared at the sky, the large crescent of moon hanging from the sky glowed brightly he felt as though it wa slooking back. he picked himself up and said:
'Lets get some rest then.'

In the morning Vakund was up like a rocket and packing supplies for the journey ahead, it would be a long one and they may need to travel through both day and night to make it in time. An hour after Vakund woke Sanfew entered the room followed by a druid Vakund had never seen before. He was of middle height, dressed in green druid battle robes with white hair that feathered into his face, he had piercing blue eyes but Vakund could almost see red in them.
'This is...is Sanguire, he will be travelling with you to Morytania,' Sanfew said. Vakund was taken aback by the druids name, he knew it meant blood and wondered why a druid would have such a name, he began to think that that wasn't 'Sanguire's' true name.
'Thank you Sanfew********* said offering his hand to Sanguire he took it but his gaze never left Va****'s face.
'It is pleasant to meet you.' Now Vakund definatley knew something was very strange about this druid. After a few moments of silence Va**** said:
'It's pleasant t meet you as well.' Sanguire grinned and Vakund almost flinched. What was up with this guy?

'You will be heading up to white wolf mountain again and taking the gnome glider to the dig site close to the river salve, it will cut your journey time down considerably.' Sanfew explained. Vakund nodded, he was taking it in but only just, he was still preoccupied with Sanguire, he really didn't know what to make of him.
They headed off at about midday, they walked at quite a pace and make distance quickly, it took them only an hour to reach the gnome pilot who was enjoying a mint cake.
'Ah Sanfew said you would be arriving, hurry we need to take off before the winds change.' Vakudn took a deep breath and boarded.

They arrived a few hours later, however it wasn't the most comfortable of landings, the winds had changed suddenly causing the glider to spin an they crahs landed close to the site, fortuneatley they weren't high up so they weren't hurt.
'Not a great start' Va**** said

--------------------------------------Chapter 14------------------------------------------

The warriors, ranger and mages were ready. King Roald had sent them on their mission some hours before and they had left and arrived at Paterdomus to enter Morytania. The monks looked on with dread and the group knowing that nothing good would come from this, but they knew better than to question King Roald especially after the arrival of his new adviser. Many went back to their day to day work, but one, the youngest, looked on. He saw the sharp swords, shiny armour, carved bows, pointly arrows, and glittering battlestaves with thoughts of war, he feared for his family and friends, feared that at last the dark minions of Zamorak would at last break through the barrier that was the river salve. Once the group disappeared into the underground tunnel he turned away and went back to work.

From a distance Vakund and Sanguire had been watching, trying to gauge the size of the force they were up against, they had expected a group of maybe 15 or 20 not the 36 they saw entering the temple.
'I suppose Roald is not taking any chances********* said.
'No, but then I wouldn't have thought he would, this will makes things harder but not impossible,' Sanguire replied. After a moments pause Vakund asked: 'Who are you, where do you come from?' A grin creeped across Sanguire's face as he looked at Vakund.
'Who I am is irrelevant, I'm here to help you stop the destruction of your home.'
'Then why are you helping?'
'Because Sanfew told me to.'
'I may not of seen many before, but I can tell you're not druid********* said with some placement. Again Sanguire grinned.
'Maybe not, but I'm a druid nonetheless,' Sanguire said with a hint of laughter. Vakund wasn't convinced but he didn't push it knowing he wasn't going to get anymore information.

'Come on Vakund the coast is clear lets head over to the riverside.' Vakund collected his thoughts and then silently followed Sanguire. The test was near.

The leader of the King's small army was a weathered warrior called Markus, he was a strong leader who carried him men forward with precision and speed. they made ground quickly and camped just a few miles outside of Canifis. In less than an hour all their tents were set up and in the middle of the camp a strong fire burned brightly, ash rising from the tallest flames in the fire before being taken by the wind, cooling and landing on the ground as white burnt out cinders of ancient trees.

'Captain, one of mages reports hearing strange noises nearby.' one of the younger warrios reported.
'No worries, this place is crawling with dark filth, I wouldn't expect this swamp to be dead quiet at night.' The young knight turned away and began to march off,
'However if anything approaches the camp report straight back to me.' Markus spoke with a hardness in his voice, not a man to be messed with.
'Yes Captain.' Captain Markus turned and stared into the fire, as is charred the wood that had been fed into it, he was deep in thought but wasn't worried or scared, he didn't know fear.

The group set off in the morning as the sun rose over the hazy swampy area, the packed up quickly and after eating breakfast started on their way to Canifis. However a stroke of luck on Vakund and Sanguire's part bought them some time.
'Sire come quick, I think..i think I've found someone of the previous group!' Markus hurried over sword in hand and looked at what the ranger had found. Lying in the mud was the decomposing corpse of a man in armour, however some of it was missing and most of it badly damaged.
'Examine the body,' he barked at some of the elder mages (who started to look slightly disguntled). After a quick check and a few moments they said:
'Teeth marks.'
'Saradomin damn these fiendish wolves. Hold up here and search around, see if there are anymore bodies.' He stood up to full height and said:
'Then we march, and heads shall roll.' A darkness evident in both his voice and his face.
