---------------------------------chapter 5----------------------------------------------

Veliaf was sitting at his desk in the myreque's base at Burgh De Rott, he had been expecting some bold adventurers arriving a few days before to help with the fight against Draken, his vampyres and the vyrewatch, but no one had arrived. To make matters worse very strange things were happening in morytania, some people had gone missing and it was increasingly difficult to get supply* in and out. This was terrible news as Burgh De Rott was supposed to be started to be rebuilt, with the new church coming up in the next couple of months. Veliaf decided to wait one more day and then if they didn't turn up, it would be time to contact Drezel.
Another day passed and still no sign, fearing the worst Veliaf decided it was time to contact Drezel, it now occured to him that no one was safe anymore in Morytania.
'With speed John, you never know what might be out there.' Said veliaf to a young man as he passed him the letter.
'The letter is in fast and safe hands, do not be concerned.' John replied
'Then run John, as fats as you can and remember to use the shortcut that will save you much time.' John nodded and then he was off.
Drezel was looking at various books when John entered through the portal and it startled the monk somewhat though he tried not to show it. drezel was about to open his mouth to greet John when he noticed that his clothes were slashed and that he was bleeding.
'Great Saradomin John! What happened to you?' Drezel rushed forwards to support John and gently manovoeur him into a chair. John looked weak and had slightly lifeless eyes, he had obviously lost a lot of blood.
'John just sit tight and I'll go get help,' there was much urgency in Drezel's voice. Drezel rushed off to go alert the other monks. In his absence John notcied his limbs feeling heavier and heavier, he tried to stay with it bu couldn't, he slumped and fell to the floor. He'd lost too much blood.

When John woke up he was in a bed in the temple, his wounds were bandaged up and they were healing nicely, and he felt much better. As he woke drezel approached his bed.
'At last you're awake, you had us a bit worried there.' John noticed how there was stil just the tiniest edge of worry in his voice, it was the sort of thing John could always pick up and he knew that there was worry and doubt surrounding Drezel.
'What happened after I passed out?' John asked, attempting to sit, but he couldn't quite muster the strength.
'Well we found you unconcious so we quickly rushed to bandage and clean your wounds before putting you in bed, we've also had the finest mage we could find to help heal your wounds.' Drezel replied
'How long have I been here?'
'Just 3 days.'
'3 days! but the....' John started
'We found the letter on you and I have read it and now sent my own letter to the king. It is alright John you can relax, you have done your job.' John was relived, he relaxed and sank back into the bed and almost instantly fell back to sleep.
'Rest John, we may need your strength again soon...'

Having received the letter King Roald had begun his search for a new set of adventurers, one much stronger than before not only to do the job of the previous adventurers but to find them as well. He hadn't slept well for a couple of nights, growing more and more agitated. His general Gordan tried to calm him with assurances, saying how more adventuers will be found.
'Gordan how goes the search?' The king asked as Gordan was passing through.
'The search goes well my liege, we have found a few but we are still looking for more, though it shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks and we shall have a small army ready to crush the evil in Morytania.'
'Excellent Gordan, nothing shall be left of the worms that foul that land, werewolves, vampyres, ghosts...they shall all be destoyed, no stone will be left unturned. Every last fiend hunted down, every village burned...'
'Yes my Lord.'

-----------------------------------------Chapter 6-----------------------------------------------

Vakund woke the following morning to talking nearby below deck, some sailors had woken up but there wasn't much light. They had candle lamps and were playing cards by the flickering lights. At first Vakund worried about being discovered but even though he was just a few metres away from him he was well hidden by crates, he peered though a small gap inbetween crates to get a better look. Then he started to listen to what they were saying.
'Strange place Karamja, plenty o' fruits and rum but oim telling ya there be some dark and dangerous things on that island. Remember hearing about that piraye fellow, just bones 'nd scraps of flesh they found. they say it be a jungle wolf but i say nay, that ain't no jungle wolf, that be a monster...********** started to tense, he knew the sailor was talking about him.
'But that ain't the first one, there's an island myth, a legend of death and a terribe monstrosity....'
That greatly intrigued Vakund, he knew Karamja was dangerous but if you stayed clear of the south, far west and the various caves you'd would generally be safe. He had never heard of a legend or previous attacks.
'The myth goes that terrible creatures lived just off the coast of karamja in a cave inside a small islet and during the night they would come out to feed, some who foolishly walked the beaches at night or those who ventured too close from curiosity were never seen again.'
'What was this creature called and what was it!?' Another of the sailors asked.
'The name given to these creatures was na*htire, the bloody night, the creatures are described as huge bulky amphibian creatures with sharp teeth and massive claws, they are said to ambush their prey, sinking in and out of the night, never seen, deathly quiet. Few people have lived to report them but those who have have been dismissed people don't believe in them.

They have never been confirmed to have been seen and the islet was never found when searched for, but....' The sailor paused.
'...They are real, I've seen 'em with my own eyes and I'm telling you thats what took that sailor, no question about it.'
Some time later Vakund managed to sneak off of the boat, once the sailors left he moved up deck and when the reached port jumped out onto a grassy area nearby and took off before anyone noticed he was there.
Upon arriving to Ardougne he was hungry but had little money, he thought that he needed to save it up for transport if possible. He decided to steal from the market stalls. He approached the bread and cakestall and carefully scooped a couple of things up with his hand when no one was looking. He moved out of the area and started to eat the food, it was good and he went back for more. A costly error. The baker had known that he had been stolen from so when Vakund approached his stall he watched him carefully, Vakund paid him no heed and so when he picked up some bread and started to walk away the baker shouted.
'Guards! Guards! come quick thief! thief!' The bustling market atmosphere suddenly evaporated and everyone stood still, Vakund broke into a run evading 3 guards, it didn;t mater though a knight waited round the corner and grabbed as he run passed. He struggled to break free and the knight hit him on the head with the holt of his sword and he went out cold.
The first rotten tomato hit him on the side of his head, Vakund awoke groggily. Another tomato hit him, this time on his chest. He looked up and saw he was trapped inside a tiny metal cage in a place he didn't recognise, another tomato hit him.
'Take that you thief!'
'Taste justice vagabond!'
Vakund had heard about this, in Yanille criminals were caged and were humiliated by having rotten vegetables thrown at them.
Night fell and the people went home, he took his chance. He picked the locks and quietly left to make up for lost time.......

---------------------------Chapter 7--------------------------------------------------------

Luckily for Morgomir the wolves at the agility arena took him back to Canifis, unluckily though his father was furious.
'YOU FOOLISH BOY! HOW MANY TIMES MUST I TELL YOU, NO GOING INSTO THAT ZAMORAK FORBIDDEN SWAMP ALONE.'
'Father I just wanted.....'
'I don't care, you could of been kill!'
Morgomir felt ashamed, head held down.
'I'm sorry for shouting son, but now your mother and sister are gone you're all that I have left.' he approached Morgomir and gave him a hug.
'But...even so I am still going punish you, you are going to help Barker at his habdashery for the week.' Morgomir nodded, a tear rolled down his cheek, it hurt to think of his mother or older sister. They had both been fit and tough fighters but a year ago they were taken by Draken for assaulting his vampyres when they came to collect tithes and were never seen again. Morgomir remembered his mother and sister hugging him and saying theywould be back and things would be fine in the future even though he knew better, he knew he'd never seen them again.
He trundled off to the habdashery, lost in thought. Upon arriving he entered and saw barker looking subdued which was rare, normally he was up and about and eccentric. morgomir looked around the shop, the clothes looked worn and lacked in colour and there weren't many either, very unlike the shop.
'Barker what's wrong?' For a moment Barker was silent staring into space, then he said:
'It's all useless, all useless Morgomir....I can't get any more materials and so I can't make anymore clothes, my contacts have disappeared and I have few seeds to grow anymore fibers.....somethings happened Morgomir things are changing in Morytania...for the worst. I've heard that the followers of Saradomin are closing in on us, cutting off are supply, weakening us down and then striking, finishing us off.'

'Draken said he will fight off the invaders but I fear we are pawns on the frontline, meaning nothing and the first to fall. So why are you here Morgomir?'
'My father has punished me and said I need to help you in the shop.' There was a slient pause.
'Well I can't say there's too much to do but I suppose you could sort out the few things I have left some things have come out of order.'
Night fell quickly, Barker thanked Morgomir for his help but said there was nothing else he could do tomorrow and he said there was no point returning tomorrow. Morgomir quickly walked across teh village but as he got closer to his house he heard a strange sound. A squelching sound of swamp mud and the snapping of tough swamp plants. Ssssshhhhhhhh. Morgimir froze in place, it was the same noise as he had heard before aroudn the back of the hair of the dog inn. Then in the darkness he thought he saw something moving in the swamp close to the edge of the village, he couldn't make anything out but it looked like there was definatley movement. He sensed it moving slowly towards him.
'Morgomir.' He heard someone whisper in his ear, it was Mazchna.
'Morgomir, move quietly and back to your house.' Morgomir saw movement in the swamp again but now it seemed to be moving away and what ever it was was hissing again.
'What is it Mazchna?' Morgomir asked quietly looking round at him.
'A terrible creature,' and that was all Mazchna said. Mazchna gently nudged Morgomir in the direction of his house. Morgomir took one last look and saw nothing, he noticed there was no more noise either. He turned back and let Mazchna lead him back to the house where his father awaited. Morgomir headed straight upstairs to bed, as he was heading upstairs though he heard that Mazchna was having a quiet word with his father but he couldn't here what they were saying. Deciding it was nothing he went up the stairs to bed.

----------------------------------------chapter 8----------------------------------

Darkness falls quickly, but the large, fat, shining moon rises slowly over Canifis. The villagers all stood without clothes in the centre of the village eyes fixed upon the shining globe as it slowly makes its ascent. The day of the hunt was always troublesome for Morgomir, he found it difficult to concentrate on what he was doing, and found fiddly things neigh on impossible. He didn't resent the change, he relished it like all other wolves, but even so it annoyed him.
The moon finally reached its position high in the sky, gleaming brilliant light on the damp earthy ground. The change hit them all at once. Morgomir started to twitch and twist, he felt his bones seemingly melting and then lengthening before snapping back into place. Dense fur sprouted all over his body and great claws grew out of his fingers. White fangs bloodily erupted from his jaw as it lengthened into a snout. Finally his legs finished cnapping into place and his new claws raked the ground. His eyes changed from brown to yellow and he let out a howl. Finally when all were transformed they ran at pace out of the village, into the swamp, onto the hunt.
Mazchna knew the wolves would not target him but he took no chances, he retreated to Fenkenstrain's castle at dusk and returned at dawn. Fenkenstrain was long dead, the wolves had killed him once he'd lost the ring of charos. His 'monster' now owned the castle like he'd used to and was a good friend of Mazchna's. Infact he was one of the few people who knew of Mazchna's origins.
Not a lot of people lived in Morytania, but there were a few and there were always adventurous people wanting fame and glory for slaying terrible beasts. The people who lived there always bordered up there houses and lay awake weapons in hand, few were ever taken, normally just foolish adventurers, and tonight was no different, 5 fell and were quickly devoured.

The hunt ended in the early hours of the morning, everyone returns back to the village, happy and full. Once they have all transformed back they bath and then put their clothes back on. Mazchna returned and was at the bridge shortly afterwards. They laughed about last night, but laughter soon turned to worry when they realised that 2 were missing. Neither had been seen since they had returned and they started to worry.
Once everyone was ready they split up and searched the nearby swamp, they knew it would be a hard job, the swamp was vast and difficult to navigate in a lot of places. they also didn't want to make too much noise in case it attracted vampyres which would sometimes snoop around the day after the hunt.
After several hours of searching they found the first body, it was slightly submerged in a pool of swamp water, naot far from a well known path through the swamp. The body had many slash wounds in it, they deduced probbaly from sharp weaponary such as knives or short swords. Rarely did wolves fall in the hunt but on occasions it did happen, the last one had been a few years ago when one wolf had ventured too far and was killed by sevaral nail beasts. The body was taken back to be buried in the nearby graveyard.
Finally near dusk the second body was found, but it was more gruesome than the last. The body had been ripped to pieces with must of the body detached from the other parts. Blood was everywhere but the worst thing was that it had been partially eaten. much of the inards was missing and apart from the spinal cord and a few bits of flesh there was no neck. This had never been witnessed but any of teh village before.
'What could of done this?!' One asked 'A nail beast??'
'No, we're not far enough in, it was something....something else.' The other person who said it looked round accusingly at the others.
When Morgomir saw the body being brought back to the village he was gripped with emotion.
'What could of done this.....?' He asked himself.

-------------------------------------Chapter 9------------------------------------------------

During the full moon Vakund had hidden underground near the fishing guild, he makde sure he didn't hurt anyone else but preyed on sevaral goblins, though their meat was unsatisfactory to the pirate he'd eaten the month before. Afterwards he felt disgusted with himself that he craved human flesh, soft, warm, salty, bloody human meat. He tried to drive such thoughts from his head by doin a hard days travelling, he made good progress reaching Catherby by nightfall.
During the night he camped out away from the main town, his skills came to good use and he made a makeshift tent from tree branches and leaves. That night was the first time he felt that he missed Morytania and Canifis. Before he didn't really think about it and on his return journey he didn't that he mised Canifis, just that he felt he had to go back because he didn't fit in anywhere else. He missed his family, his mother father and younger brother. His parents had been taken by Draken and his brother killed by Vampyres. The Vampyres had attacked them all whilst they were in the swamp, he saw his brother killed and his parents taken before he was knocked out. When he awoke he was in a very unfamiliar place which turned out to be karidian desert, but how he' got there he had no idea. He had also had a lover but she too had been taken by Draken. he missed them all, and he wanted to be with them again but he knew he would never see any of them again. Tears rolled down his cheeks, he had **orw vengence and hoped upon his return to reap it.
As light rose he picked up his stuff and continued on his journey, this time he had to go over white wolf mountain, somethign he was not looking forward to. he made his way through catherby, only stopping to take some fish from soem peopel's nets, normally he would cook them but he as so hungry he just ate them raw. Whatever it was it tasted better than goblin meat.

He reached the looming mountain and looked up to it's peak, he didn't think it looked to bad but it certainly looked cold. He had an extra coat but he doubted it would stave the cold. He'd heard on the road to be wary of ice warriors and giants and of the many wolves that lurked on the mountain. It didn't take very long for some wolves to materialise on the mountain side, but as they were white it was difficult to make them our from the scenery.
The wolves looked at him and but took little interest, he was slightly fearful that they would attack but as he went past more and more as he scaled the mountain he stopped being overly cautious and relaxed. the weather wasn't too bad either he could barely see the mountain the previous day due to a strong blizzard but today there was barely any snow fall at all. He good mood but the winds started to blow a different direction and when he reached the highest ridge things became dire.
Up until now the wolves had taken very little interest with Vakund but suddenly a giant wolf, the pack leader attack him. It jumped him knocking him to the floor, it bit his arm which he used to protect his face and tried to counter attack with his knife. he ***hed at its legs with his free arm, doing little damage but it was enough to make the wolf let go. Seeing the pack leader attack the other wolves joined in. One bit his leg and started dragging him to probbaly the den, another clawed his chest. Then the big wolf came back staring him in the face.
Suddenly a burning branch was thrust between him and the wolf singing some of its fur, it jumped back and yelped and Vakund realised his leg was free. The other wolves had disappeared and he saw the pack leader disappear into the white of the mountain.
'Looks like a got to you just it time, other wise you'd be wolf meat.' Vakund looked up and saw his saviour was a gnome! Vakund tried to get up to move towards but pain shot down his leg, and he fainted. Falling into darkness.
