--------------------A Tale Of Two Wolves--------------------
--------------------Prologue--------------------------------

'Here' Drezel passed one of the adventurers his pack. 'May Saradomin send you speedily to Burgh de Rott.' the adventurer nodded and then walked to the others. Sevaral adventurers were standing together; Wizards, rangers and knights, ready to go off.
'Be wary won't you, Morytania is indeed a dangerous place,' Drezel said with an air of concern.
'Do not worry, we are experienced and well trained. We shall reach Burgh de Rott in 2 or 3 days we shall send a message upon our arrival,' replied one of the knights. once he had spoken they all turned and faced the portal.
'Ready?' spoke the knight again.
'Yes,' they all replied.
One by one they stepped through the portal, drezel looked on, he knew they were experienced but was worried nonetheless. When the last adventurer, a ranger stepped through the portal Drezel turned and face away, he had a feeling he would never see them again.
It was cold and dark, raining gently but evn so visibilty was poor the only light source coming from the staff of the 3 wizards in the group and the slight glow in the distance which would be the town on canifis. The marched fast but silently across the slightly boggy ground their feet sinking slightly; many were unnerved they had never been anywhere like this before. They had always lived somewhere where there were lights, but here there was nothing, just darkness.
They reached a fork in the road, one leading to canifis the other through the swamp.
'Which way sire?' one of the younger knights called. the head knight paused and then said:
'We go south, we don't want to draw attention to ourselves in canifis'
'What?!' Cried one of the rangers 'You've got to be joking that swamp is a death trap it'll be quicker going through canifis, we can use the shortcut drezek told us about.'
'I know it seems strange but you have to trust me, going through teh swamp is the best way.

'We go through the swamp, that's final!'
'No way, I refuse to follow orders from this idiot, do you want to make it to Burgh de Rott in one peice?'
'Fine then go your own way, through the town, see if I care!'
Many of the other adventurers started to look worried. Finally one of the wizards spoke out:
'Come on, we need to stick together if we want to make it through.' Silence.
'Fine, all those who want to come through the swamp follow me and everyone else follow that idiot of a ranger.' The knight stormed off, the other knights and one of the wizards hurridley followed.

'Alright then, everyone else follow me.'
The had barely taken ten paces when they heard a loud crack. They stopped and stared into the darkness barely able to see a few feet in front of them. the light around them dimmed slightly, they all turned. One of the wizards was missing.
'Where did he go?' the last wizard said. before anyone could reply they heard a slashing sound and a soft thud. The turned sharply ninety degrees. Most of them were quivering, if they had been unnerved before they were absolutely panicking now.
'What the....' Too late it was upon them.

'Hah those fools have no idea what they're doing, they'll get nowhere and attract too much attention I won't be surprised it we don't see them again.' The knight laughed, everyone else didn't they were very uneasy. Suddenly they all heard a straneg noise, like quiet screaming.
'What was that?!' The wizard asked now very fearful.
'Twas only the wind, nothing to worry about.' the head knight replied. 'Come on everyone, continue on.'
Slightly reluctantly the moved on.
'Hey wait, isn't someone missing?' one knight replied, everyone looked around and it was true someone was missing. Suddenly the light went out.
'Hey whats going on,' the knight said 'Where's everyone? hello, HELLO?' No one replied. Then he he heard the squelching of mud, he raised his sword. Swoosh. His screams echoed around the swamp, but quickly dying and all was silent again.

-----------------------------------Chapter 1---------------------------------------

Morgomir was playing around the back of the hair of the dog inn, he always played there with his bone carvings, which he'd carved himself. he was a young werewolf barely 13 and had only recently had his first transformation. He had no brothers or sisters and was the only child in canifis which meant that he was lonely and had few friends. He was a solitary person but he longed for a friend to end his loneleness. He wasn't very tall and he had blue eyes and brown hair. His clothes were brightly coloured, blue and red his two favourite colours. He always helped out at Barkers Habdashery so he always had the best clothes.

He was an excellent craftsmen, not only was he good at carving bones but at making things out of leather such as simple armour and was some what prolifant is the art of fletching and woodcutting. Though there was little to practice on because the only trees nearby were either dead or hollow trees. His grandfather had once spoken about how when he was a boy he saw the living trees around canifis and the swamps but since Draken had extended his grip on morytania the trees had withered and died, leaving only former shadows of themselves.

As he was stacking his bones, trying to build somesort of structure one bone rolled down the hill and onto some boggy ground. Morgomir gently eased himself down the slope and picked up the bone. As he was coming back up something unusual caught his eye. Something pink and fleshy was resting in some swamp weed. He leaned across and grabbed it, it was cold. He lifted it up and examined it, and he saw what it was. It was a severed arm, he noted that is was quite a clean cut severing. He was quite perplexed as to why this arm was there. He thought that it might be good to show his father maybe he might know more.

he left his bones where they were and he went back to house, he knew his father would be there. His father was a writer and spent hours pouring over bits of paper documenting what happened in the town but also stories. When he approached his father, his father looked up.
'Is there something a matter son?' he said.
'I found this.' Morgomir showed his father the severed arm. his father put down his quill and came closer, taking it out of Morgormirs hands and started to examine it. Then he said:
'Its just a human arm buts its unfit for consumption, surely you could of figured that out?'
'Of course father but I just wanted to know why it was there,' Morgomir replied.
'Where did you find this? Behind the inn?' Morgomir nodded. 'Well its probaable just leftovers from the last hunt.' He handed it back to Morgomir.
'You should take the skin off, its good bone inside.'
Morgomir nodded again and then turned back walking out of the house.

He went back to the back of the hair of the dog inn and began taking off the muscle and skin, it would of been a grisly job for a human of his age but then he wasn't human. Ssssshhhhhhhh. Morgomir looked up. He'd heard a noise and was looking for its source. He stood up and looked around, he thought he could hear breathing, deep breathing, from something big. He was unsure of what it was but he began to be nervous. Knife and arm in hand he left hurridly, he would not return there that day.

The next day he came back to where his bones were hoping to collect them, but when he got there he couldn't find them. They were gone.

------------------------------------Chapter 2--------------------------------------

Vakund was a master huntsman, it probably helped that he was a werewolf, there was no finer hunter in all of brimhaven. He lived off the land hunting, farming and picking fruit, and made some money when he helped other people out. He was a good tempered persona nd the people who lived there weren't suspicious of him at all.

Vakund had never nearly fitted in in Canifis but he missed it and wanted to return home and he never meant to leave really meant to leave it. Unfortuneatly though he. a werewolf. could not simply walk through the temple on the salve, he would be killed before he got halfway through. The only way he believed it could be done is if he was agile enough to cross the river salve, it was why he came to brimhaven, to hone his agility. He spent hours everday in the agility dungeon so when the time came he would be able to cross the river and return home.

he got up from were he was sitting, he was tried from a days agility and needed to eat. Vakund wasn't a particulary big person, he was tall but not very broad, he was strong but he didn't look it. He had brown hair and blue eyes, like the sea his skin was smooth but he had a small faded scar on his cheek from when he was a boy. he was lonely, people accepted him but he was afraid to get too close to people because of what he was.

He took some monkey meat from his larder and was about to cook it when he decided wagainst it, he was too tired and hungry, he skinned it with his knife and ate it raw, guts and all.

As he ate darkness fell and the moon rose in the sky, tonight it was bright and full, Vakund new this was dangerous which was why he boarded up his door and windows the night before as he always did, he took no chances. The moon still had some hold on him but he had a specia magic orb he'd bought from a merchant and it calmed him.

He tried to sleep, but for some reason tonight he couldn't, even with the orb he felt restless not calm, it was becomign hard to resist. Winds howled outside making screaching and moaning noises, rattling the boards on the windows. Suddenly one of the boards blew clean of the window. Vakund was horrified he was now exposed to the full moon. He tried not to look at it and focus on the orb, but it was too late, he's gone without the change for so long and he couldn't bottle it up any longer. he dropped the orb and tore through the boards that blocked the door. He could feel it coming. He tore of his clothes and ran into the jungle, he howed and then the transformation began. He twisted and turned as his bones snapped and grew before cracking back into place. His face grew longer and his hands turned into terrible claws. It was finished, the hunt was on.

A pirate sat down on the shore, he was so happy having looted some treasure, rich at last. he was thinking about retiring from being a pirate, maybe he'd just be a sailour he thought. He heard some rustling behind him, he turned his head but it was too dark to see; he turned back thinking it was nothing.

Vakund could see the pirate sitting there on the beach, the pirate couldn't see him but he could see the pirate and that was what all that mattered. Had Vakund been in human form he could of stopped himself but the Vakund the wolf couldn't. He raced towards the pirate on all fours, the pirate turned just as Vakund leapt on him. As soon as he was upon him he tore into him with his claws and teeth. there were no screams the pirate didn't even had the time to do that. Vakund had missed the joy of the hunt and the warm meat soaked in oh so lovely fresh blood. He feasted until little but bones was left.

As morning came he transformed back and returned back to his house, feeling better than he had in ages.

It didn't take long before the body was found.....

---------------------------------------Chapter 3-----------------------------------------

'Oh my Guthix.' The stared horrified and transfixed at the mangled corpse lying on the golden, but blood soaked sand; waved lapped gently over the broken bones. There were sevaral people standing there, the pirates body had been found just an hour before and now it was becoming a bit of a specticle.
'We've got to move this, we don't want the kids eeign this when they play on the beach.' one man said, everyone else nodded. he stoppeddown and quickly shoved the remains into a sack and slung it over his shoulder.
'It looks like an animal attack, and look there're some tracks, no idea what it is surely its a bit far for a jungle wolf to travel? Well anyway I'll go take this back and bury it, everyone else look for some signs of what happened. Oh and Billy,' he looked at a young man to his left, 'go get Vakund he'll know what to do.'

Vakund knew he was in trouble. He didn't mean to kill the pirate but he just couldn't stop himself, it had just been too long. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Vakund froze, he thought to himself that this could be it, he got up from where he was sitting and slowly appraoched the door. He opened it and Billy was standing there.
'Vakund you've got to come quick,' Billy said hurridley.
'Why whats the matter?' Vakund tried to sound as surprised as possible.
'A pirate...has been killed at the beach...you've got to.... come now.' Billy was panting heavily he must have run pretty fast to get here. Vakund knew it was bad but he also knew that if he didn't go the villagers would be suspicious of him. He gritted his teeth and went out his house closing the door behind.

'So Vakund what light can you shed on the pirates death?' Lubufu asked, he may be a crochety old fisherman but he was clever and Vakund knew it would be difficult to lie to him.

'Well, it was certainly an animal that killed him, most likely a jungle wolf, we should search the surrounding jungle and see if its still around.' Lubufu nodded and went over to some of the young men to tell them what to do. As he went Vakund tried to cover his tracks as best he could and make it look like whatever had killed the pirate had gone back into the jungle. it would take him a while, but its that or be found out and most likely put to death.

'Hey look at these tracks, Vakund come here.' A young man was calling him. Vakund froze when he came over, he saw two tracks leading straight into the village, he must of missed them.
'Vakund do you think the wolf could of gone back into the village?' the young man asked.
'No, we didn't see anything this morning of it and there's no other tracks, it probably came here and then turned back.'
'Are you sure Vakund?' A young woman stepped forward, her name was Melinda.
'Yes i am positive Melinda, the animal didn't go into the village.' Vakund replied.
'That's a relief.' She said, relieved.

It was too close, Vakund decided it was time to leave, he packed up his few things and left a note saying that he had to leave because of family matters and didn't know whether he would be back or not. he creeped out of the village in the dead of night and snuck of to the brimhaven port. A quick scan told him there were no passenger ships leaving, but he saw a banana ship, heading to Ardougne was about to leave. he ran as fast as he could and junped from the pier onto the ship. Once aboard he silently went down to the lower levels, hiding as peopel came as he went. When he reached the bottom he sat between some crates and rested.

He didn't want to fall asleep but he was very tired and he went out like a light almost instantly.

--------------------------------------------Chapter4------------------------------

Morgomir was confused, no one ever took his bones, everyone knew they were his. He searched all round the hair of the dog but he couldn't find them, he came to the conclusion that someone or something from outside of the village had taken them and that they were no longer in the vicinity. but this only raised more questions, very rarely did someon from out of town pass through and even then it would be a vampire or the occaisional shade neither would be interested in bones.
Morgomir decided to widen his search, if the bones were outside of the village then the first place to look would be the swamp, it may be a little dangerous but he wouldn't be going far and he could look after himself. As he approached the entrance to the swamp though he was stopped by the resident slayer master, Mazchna.
'Morgomir, where are you going?' he enquired, although he seemed to already know. Morgomir thought carefully about his reply.
'Well seeing as my bones are missing....' Mazchna cut in saying:
'Morgomir you cannot go into the swamp just to look for a few bones, first of all it's far too dangerous and second of all you would never find them, going into the swamp is out of the question.' Morgomir tryed to say something in his defence but couldn't summon the courage, Morgomir knew from experienced what happened to people who messed about with Mazchna, it wasn't pleasant.
Deafeated Morgomir trudges back into town, followed by Mazchna's cold, demonic stare. Sighing he decided to go to Rufus' meat shop to see if he had any spare bones. As soon as he entered the shop though Morgomir knew something was wrong because there was barely anything in the shop.
'Ah Morgomir, it's nice to see you, but unfortunatley I have no bones for you.' Said a voice behind Morgomir, he whirled round and saw Rufus standing there.
'Rufus why is there so little in the shop?' Morgomir enquired. Rufus sighed then said:

'I haven't had any stock in for days, I've nearly run out,' he went and sat down on a nearby chair and then continued.
'I've no idea why, but nothing has been delivered, normally I get stuff in from the coast every other day, but recently nothing and I haven't heard from any of them recently either.' Morgomir noted how resigned Rufus looked.
'Is there anything I can do to help?'
'Well if I gave you a rod could you go into the swamp and catch slimy eels for me? I know they're not particulary tasty but they are better than nothing.'
'Sure,' Morgomir relpied 'if you give me the rod I'll go now.' Rufus smiled and then picked up a rod off the floor, he quickly inspected it and then handed it to Morgomir. As soon as he recieved it Morgomir ran off back toeards the entrance to the swamp.
'He does love his bones that boy.' Rufus pushed his chair back in before tidying the clutter off the table.
'Hah, Mazchna can't stop me going into the swamp.' Morgomir congratulated himself of sneaking past Mazchna. It didn't take long for Morgomir to find a suitable spot, he find a couple of small snails and put them on the hook before casting out the rod and waiting for bite.
Morgomir stayed there a few hours catching quite a few slimy eels, but his time there was cut short when suddenly out of no where he was attacked by a bloated leach. Morgomir spun out of teh way just in time to avoid the vicious shard teeth which had marked the end for many a creature. He took his catch and the rod and ran as fast as he could in the opposite direction, deeper into the swamp. he quickly became lost and what made it worse was that he attracted the attention of even more leaches. Things didn;t look good but luckily he'd stopped right outside the entrance to the werwolf agility arena. Noticing it he quickly ran to it and went down the trao door, at last he was safe. The next problem was getting back to canifis......
