---------------------------------------Chapter 15--------------------------------------
Va**** stood on the edge on the Salve, he stared at the everflowing body of water that had stopped his kind from passing from Morytania for so long.
'You know Vakund, if you do actually do this there will be no going back, this shortcut only works this way as the ground is too low on then other side.' Sanguire said, Vakund was surprised with the amount of concern in his voice. He turned to face him.
'I have to, they are my people and they are in grave danger no matter the consequences I must do this,' Vakund faced the river again. 'I've spent so long training for this, this moment where I return home.' Vakund closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, he felt the air and the earth and the water around him; he felt akin to the world at which he stood and so he refused to fail.
'I shall go first incase anything happens, afterall I can cross back,' Sanguire said, and suddenly he stepped a few paces back run and seemed to glide over the river to the otherside, landing softly with legs crouched. Sanguire turned and faced Vakund and nodded. The moment had finally come********* steadied himself and walked backwards, but much farther than Sanguire had. He stared straight ahead of him and in the distance he could see Canifis, his home and the faces of his family who by now were long gone. A single tear ran down his cheek before he screwed his face up in determination and sorrow and ran forward as first as he could. As he reached the river bank he leapt in the air heading towards the other side. He seemed to hang there for so long, the world seemed to pass quickly by in a blur and then he hit the otherside and collapsed. His face was on the floor and he inhaled smelling the smell of swampy earth, the smell of home.
Suddenly the calm was shattered by a deafening roar, as something large passed a shadow on the ground. Sanguire looked alarmed and jumped back and Sanguire looked u to the sky.

Va**** saw a large green dragon fly overhead along the river its giant wings beating heavily and its tail scything through the air, the birds that flew the river squawked in alarm and dived for cover.
'Impossible!' Sanguire half shouted gripped by fear. The dragon seemed to shine in the light of the sun and had a metallic look to it. Vakund had heard of the bronze, iron and steel dragons that inhabited the cave in brimhaven and had heard rumours of mithril dragons, but adamant dragons?! Did they even exist? The dragon departed as swiftly as it had arrived and Sanguire composed himself.
'Come,' he said 'we've got to hurry to Canifis.'
Finally the people of Canifis could rejoice, Rufus and Fidelio had pulled some strings and had finally got a shipment of meat from across the salve thanks to do some 'abnormal' merchants. Rufus opened the crates and started handing it out to the residents of the village who quickly but quietly started to eat.
'Morgomir come there is good food at last!' Called Morgomir's father. Suddenly Morgomir perked up, he had been sitting reading on the western edge of the village, hungry due to the lack of food.
'Right archers ready you bows, we'll start by sending a volley or two of arrows to decimate their ranks.' Came a gruff voice. Morgomir froze, he put his book on a rock dropped low to the floor and peered around from where he was lying, he saw a large group of people fully armed standing not more than 100m from his position. It suddenly twigged in Morgomir's head that Canifis was under attack. He crawled away from where he lay until he was behind thicker cover before he got up and ran towards the center of the village.
'We're under attack! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!' He yelled waving his arms in the air as he approached the rest of the wolves.
'Morgomir what's going on?' His father called.
'WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!'
'FIRE!' and the first volley of arrows rained down on the vilage.

---------------------------------Chapter 16-------------------------------
Vakund and Sanguire watched it horror as they saw the warriors attacking canifis. Sanguire thrust rune sword and a rune defender into Va****'s hands.
'Here take these, we're gonna need to fight these imbeciles off!'
'But what are you going to use?' Va**** said slightly puzzled, Sanguire grinned and drew a massive sword from a sheath on his back.
'What on earth?!' Vakund thought, how had it he not noticed it? He knew in that moment that this 'druid' was anything but a druid******** suddenly realised what the sword was as well, a Godsword. He'd heard about such weapons from travellers who passed through brimhaven but he'd never actually seen one, what surprised him even more was that on the hilt was a guthix symbol. Vakund was very confused, he thought that only Zamorak, Saradomin, Bandos and Armadyl Godswords were supposed to exist; Vakund was increasingly becoming worried into what he was getting into.
'What's the matter, scared of a fight?' Sanguire mused still grinning. For some unknown reason Vakund grinned back and nodded, maybe he was just nervous. Then suddenly and swiftly Sanguire turned 180 degrees and sprinted towards the archers******** sprinted after him weapons bared, ready to fight.
The mithalin warriors hadn't expected a surprise attack and it wasn't until two of their number were cut down that they realised they had been attacked from behind. The rangers shouted for help from the mages and warriors as Sanguire and Va**** slashed at them, Sanguire seemed to take care not to score fatal wounds but Vakund made ****derably less effort. Bolts and blasts of fire and earth sped past the two narrowly missing them as some of the mages joined the rangers. Sanguire swiftly cast a few spells back whilst Vakund covered him. Vakund with short and fast weapons tried to slice the bows the archers used to make them defenseless. The two seemed to be successful until the warriors joined in.

Suddenly the whole dynamic of fight changed, the warriors lept forward sevaral on both vakund and Sanguire who were pushed back and starting to become overwhelmed. The Rangers and Mages stopped firing, readying themselves up and not wanting to hit their allies. Things looked bad******** sustained a small slash wound across his chest and staggered backwards, whilst Sanguire nearly lost his footing which could of allowed for a fatal blow. They both also noticed that the mages were raising their hands and the archers notching their bows. Suddenly Sanguire yelled at:
'Brace yourself!' Just as Vakund did Sanguire swung his sword round in a flash beheading one of the warriors and then his sword glowed before he plunged it into the ground. What happened next was truely astounding and Vakund thought must be the power of the Godsword. As the sword plunged into the ground, the ground erupted up as though a mini earthquake had hit the area and what looked like seismic waves flew out fo the ground. Vakund who'd braced himself mearly toppled over whilst all of the warriors, rangers and mages were sent flying in all directions as their staffs and bows snaps, and their armour bent.
Vakund leapt up and whirled round dealing death to the fallen. The battle seemed won as they could hear cries of victory from the wolves from Canifis, however Sanguire froze and put an arm up to halt Vakund. Vakund look bewldered as to why the fighting had stopped, the wolf inside of him was baying for blood and he itched as he wished to change form to claw and bite instead of slash with a blade. He wished to transform and consume the flesh of those who had tried to destroy his home but, he stopped nonetheless.
Sanguire pointed towards the sky; flying on wings of darkness the dreaded Lord Draken approached....

-------------------------------Chapter 17---------------------
Suddenly all fighting ceased as everyone stared up in fear and horror into the sky, a few readied themselves but in reality nothing could prepare them for the enemy afoot. Draken crashed to the ground, his wings quickly folding inwards onto his back; as he landed vampyres sprung from the darkness and surrounded the people in Canifis.
'It appears that i have come at a complicated time,' Draken said with false sinserity. 'But no matter, all the more blood! Come my minions restrain these inferior creatures and let us collect the blood that so freely flows.' Draken moved forwards like lightning and siezed a fallen wolf who was bleeding profusely, the vampyres followed suit grabbing those around them.
'It seems that they have been greedy and unwilling to share this blood and so many will find that all will be taken.' Draken spoke the final part with a spiteful hate.
'No more blood shall be spilt upon this land, except your own you fithly creature,' Sanguire's voice boomed. Draken looked up from his victim and his face first twisted in hate and then creased into an evil grin.
'So you dare show your face in his holy land? Hah you are a fool Asterine you cannot possible challenge me.' This hit Vakund hard, 'Asterine?' he thought to himself. So it was true that Sanguire had not been his real name but how did Draken know who he was? As Vakund was lost in thought a Vampyre sneaked up on him, however Va**** smelt his and drove one of his daggers deep into the vampyre who then leapt back with a cry of pain. Neither Vakund nor Draken moved.
'So which worthless God do you worship now? Saradomin? Guthix? Bandos?' and with that Draken tipped his head back and let out a roar of laughter.
'What a pity, you had such talent but you've thrown it all away by switching to far weaker sides. When my Lord returns you shall be one of the first to feel his wrath and the last to endure it. It shall be so very painful.'

'You are misguided Draken, Zamorak shall never return for it is what is decreed by the edicts of Guthix and if he ever did Guthix and the other Gods would smite him down like the worthless lifeform he truely is.' Draken was suddenly furious and fired a ball of energy as Sanguire who easily deflected it with his sword into a vampyre who burst into flames. The other vampyres took sevaral steps back and started to look nervous.
'How dare you speak of him in such a way, I cannot allow so blasphemy against the Lord.'
'Ha you fool Draken, you know nothing of blaphemy or religion you mearly seek to govern and rule through the illusion of Zamorak. It may have worked up till now but things are changing and soon you shall real from strength of those who oppose you and the icyene shall be born again.' At this Draken hissed and launched himself at Sanguire. Sanguire swung his sword round to block Draken before diving out of the way and stabbing his sword at Draken. Draken twisted but not enough to escape the tip of the sword which plunged into his side and was pushed deeper by Sanguire. Suddenly the sword started to glow and Draken's flesh was burned; Draken screeched and took to the air.
'You shall pay dearly for this, all of you! No more shall i show mercy the next time you shall ake your finally trip to the darkness of hallowvale where you shall remain until death! That is what I have decreed!' With that Draken sped off into the dark sky and out of sight. Sanguire didn't wait and with his (now seemingly enchanted) cut into the vampyres killing many in only a few seconds. Others followed suit and hacked into the vampyres unable to kill them due to lack of silver weaponary (bar two mithalin warriors) but it stopped them escaping before Sanguire could reach them. Mazchna stepped in for this fight and quickly dispatched two vampyres with his silver weaponary.
Soon the fight was won and no more vampyres remained except for the few that escaped.

---------------------------------Chapter 18-------------------------
A truce was settled shortly after the fighting had stopped, each side collected their dead. The wolves of Canifis lay them down outside of the village pub so they could be buried later, the warriors of mithalin wrapped theirs in cloth kindly donated by barker and distributed throughout the able bodied. Soon before the sun started to creep up above the earth the warriors began their march home, they were bitter they'd lost the fight and many of their comrades had fallen in battle; failure was washing all over them. Markus who was mildly wounded lead the troup, watching carefully for anything out of the ordinary.
Suddenly as they past an area of thick undergrowth two swift swordsmen wearing what appeared to be dark green camflauge clothing leapt out swishing they swords through the air. The warriors jumped back in surprise and thye just managed to get out of range from the swords although one ranger was nicked on the hip. However markus had been ready for such a thing and he quickly scythed his sword through the air and removed the head of one of the attackers. the other fared little better, the most powerful remaining mage had quickly grabbed some runes while she jumped back and then launched a poweful fire wave which hit the assaliant square on causing him to burst into flames; he was quickly finished off with a strong stab from marud.
'Check them!' Markus barked to the few not carrying the dead. 'See if they have anything that could identify them.' A swordsmen and a ranger stooped down and quickly checked the body of the assaliant who'd lost his head (there was little of the other body left), then the ranger stood up and held something shiny in the palm of his hand. Markus took it and inspected it closely, it was a ring with an insignia.
'Dear saradomin!' He exclaimed 'This ring bares the insignia of the family of Gordon, one of the king's advisors. Quick we must hurry to the king!'

The band of warriors went double speed across the swamp and soon across Paterdomus, they didn't stop until they reached varrock even he rest or eat or drink despite how hot it was that day. As they arrived markus sprinted to the kings chambers.
'Sire, there is a traitor amongst us! Gordon your adviser he is the one who killed our brethren.' The King had been quietly reading a book and so was taken aback by Markus bold and loud entry, however he quietly collected himself and stood up briskly.
'How do you know of this?' the King demanded.
'Here my lord is a ring we found on one of those who attacked us as we returned, it bares the insignia of Gordon's family.'
Markus passed the ring to King Roald who stared at it before saying: 'Where is Gordon?!'
'My lord,' came the voice of Aeonisig Raispher 'Gordon left as the warriors returned.' Both Markus and the King suddenly looked horrified, the possibility that Gordon could escape was unthinkable.
'Markus, hurry aprehend him before he leaves varrock, take every available man and search for him.'
'Yes my Lord.' Markus hurried out, summoning a the guards at the front of the palace to his side.
However in the end it was all unnecessary, as Markus ran outside of the palace followed by seven guards, Zaff was walking towards the castle with Gordon walking along, albiet tied up, beside him.
'Here is the traitor,' Zaff proclaimed.
'Well done Zaff, the King shall surely reward you for such a deed.'
The last few hours of Gordon's life were his most painful. Gordon would not answer Markus' questions and so torture was administered. The old captain took a hammer and shattered Gordon's finger one by one before whpping him with a bullwhip. Eventually Gordon talked explaining that he had killed the warriors so that Roald would send troops to destroy canifis and that the ones that attacked today were ordered to kill any troops that returned if defeated so Roald would send an even bigger force.
At the end Markus beheaded Gordon.

---------------------------------------Epilogue-------------------------------
Morgomir was pleased that the casualties hadn't been as heavy as they could of been but was sad nonetheless that Irina, Lev, Milla, Nikita and Yadiviga had been kiled and Aduard and the taxidermist (who people hushed at the mention of her real name) were injured. However for him it was a turning point, not only had he rushed to warm the villagers of the impending attack he'd also fought well, injuring one of the more experience rangers. He had gained the respect of the pack and many opportunities open up now they no longer saw him as just a child. Morgomir wanted to speak to his friend Vakund, but realised that he hadn't pressing matters to attend with his strange new friend but he couldn't help wonder how he'd managed to disappear and reappear like he had.
'This isn't the end Vakund, not by a long shot.'
'But Sanguire as we've just heard it was people under the king's advisors that killed the troops, case closed.'
'No Va**** its not, Gordon's men explain those who died on the road but not those who died in the swamp. Not only would Gordon's men know not to go into the swamp but those who did were ripped apart and partially eaten, it was something else that killed them.'
'What are you saying Sanguire?' Vakund asked, worried about what he was about to hear.
'I'm saying that Draken has set forces in motion, terrible forces in motion which could spell doom not just for Canifis but the wider world. Soon Draken will have an runite grip across the whole of Morytania even Port Phatmatys could soon kneel before Draken.' Sanguire replied darkly
'But what could of killed those in the swamp? Ghasts? nail beasts? Giant snails?'
'Giant snails?! Hah your imagination has run away with itself Vakund,' and with that Sanguire let out a long laugh.
'No what killed those men was something much worse, but what exactly i don't know. However we must endeavor to warn others.'

'We must travel to Burgh De Rott tomorrow to meet with the main organisation that fights against Draken which is the Myreque, we need his help if we want to stop Draken's plans.'
'Whats really happening Sanguire? Darkness seems to shroud everything these days even when I was in Karamja I could feel it. Every day I'd hear more of terrible things that has happened across Gielinor and that there was greater factionalism and larger divides between different people and religions.' Sanguire looked deeply at Vakund thinking craefully what he was going to say next.
'What will happen next is anyone's guess but every time the sun sets the next morning the sun seems not rise as high.'
Veliaf was pleased with the progress of the building of the town's infrastructure and defenses. The main buildings such as the bank and general store had been renovated to look modern and a high limestone wall was being built around the town with watchtowers at each corner. Veliaf hoped a church would soon be built in Saradomin's glory, to protect against the evil of Zamorak which infested every pore of this poisoned land. The Myreque were growing in number and they had branched out trying not only to find warriors to help fight but skilled workers who could make armour and weapons and farm, fish and cook food. Veliaf knew that having a well prepared force would give them a good chance of overthrowing Draken.
What Veliaf didn't know however was that he was being spied on by the vyrewatch, who hid in the shadows around the edges of the town listening in and watching intently before giving feedback to Draken himself. Draken knew exactly what Veliaf was doing and knew exactly which cause of action to take in ending this feable resistance, it made him laugh when those of the town thought they could truely challenge him.
'Soon they shall know what I really mean, what fear really mean, horrors unimaginable await them. The beasts from the island hunger evermore....' Draken Laughed, upon his throne.
