Takgens thrust his maul into Kaisen, but Kaisen was too small and quick to be hit by the slow maul. Kaisen was just stalling, delaying an inevitable death. Takgens was too powerful. The dragon egg was going to die here, and it would be all Kaisen's fault.
Then, as he thought of the dragon egg, he formulated a plan. The man that cursed the egg said that it had magic it used to protect itself. If he could use that magic, he might have a chance. Kaisen removed the dragon egg from his pocket and hurled it at Takgens.
The egg collided with Takgens' skull, but it did nothing except give the troll a headache. Takgens looked down at the egg intently. Then, realizing it hurt him, he smashed it with his maul. The maul hit the shell and rebounded off, for the egg was too strong. The troll suddenly, however, started to stagger. The egg was draining the heat from his body, leaving him in pain from the cold.
"What magic this is?" he wailed as his teeth chattered. He roared and ran at Kaisen, but Kaisen slipped between his legs and picked up the dragon egg. He felt its cooling effects instantly, but not for long. He threw it hard at the back of the troll's head.
