Tonight Sun and I headed back to the Academy of Heroes, in order to see if she would defeat that level 11 hobgoblin with one more blow from her weapon.
Sun landed a decent hit on the hobgoblin, but she failed to kill it. Her foe managed to avoid death for now, but it is severely wounded (77 life points left). Sun was embarrassed by her performance and ran out of the Academy. I went after my student and assured her she will beat this creature next time. Sun smiled and agreed. First, she wanted to get some sleep, so she will be well-rested for the battle tomorrow.
Sun and I went back inside for a moment before we departed. I said to the hobgoblin, "Prepare to meet your end. You will not survive your next encounter with my mighty apprentice." The gravely injured hobgoblin uttered a quick prayer to Bandos. It will do no good. Bandos is dead. Soon this creature will join him.

Sounds good, Ricardovh18. Yes, combat is fun. As you probably already know, I also have a fondness for firemaking.
I have not been back to Ashdale recently, as I have been focused on my Necromancy studies, and on exploring the city of Um. Now that I am essentially done with Necromancy, I have a feeling there will be developments in the Ashdale story in the near future.
Thank you for your post. As for Sun and her training, there is an update on that front to share...

Tonight, Sun and I returned to the Academy of Heroes. The terribly wounded hobgoblin hid in the shadows, then quickly emerged in a desperate attempt to take my student by surprise as she entered the arena. However, Sun was prepared. She swung her iron sword and finished off the level 11 hobgoblin. It took her five attacks to beat it.
For winning her 12th fight, Sun advanced to level 15. I was awarded a medium prismatic star, a medium cash bag. and a Tier 2 aura refresh, in addition to the medium prismatic lamp I claimed as my daily prize. In addition, I was given a milestone reward of two Tier 1 aura refreshes for helping my apprentice to reach level 15. I used the lamp to gain Fishing XP, and the star to gain Firemaking BXP.
Sun's next opponent will be another level 17 crassian warrior. Given enough time, I am sure she would defeat such a foe. However, the Academy of Heroes will only remain open for a couple more sessions. It is likely we will run out of time to conclude this fight before the doors close once again.

I know of your fondness for firemaking. That is cool to indeed.
I got a feeling that we canno play together as much, because of the time difference. I see your last entry time as 03:13:09 so i'm guessing your in America or something like that. Alas would have been fun to train together.
Nice entry and good of sun to defeat the hobgoblin. i'm sure she would have done well against the crassian warrior.
Thank you much. Yeah, I am based in Eastern USA, but I play at random times. It could be early afternoon, late afternoon, early evening, late at night, or real early in the morning. I like to mix it up, so keep your eyes open - you never know when I will appear!
As for the next entry, I will not make you wait too long...

The Academy of Heroes will be closing down once again this evening.
Although Sun landed a pair of solid hits on that level 17 crassian warrior, we ran out of time for any further combat sessions this time. Next time, my young student will most definitely beat the crassian. She remains at level 15.
Sun and I spent some time catching up before we said our goodbyes. I told her about Rasial and Necromancy. She let me know that following our last conversation, she decided against exploring The Wilderness - at least for now. A wise choice on her part.
Before she left, I told Sun about my recent encounter with the demon at the Chaos Temple. My apprentice listened intently. When I had finished, she asked me, "Do you believe the demon spoke truly? Could he have mistaken you for someone else?" I replied, "Honestly, I am not entirely sure. Normally, I am not inclined to trust the words of a demon. However, something about the creature's tone did not sit well with me. The demon clearly was angry with me - but I sensed there was more to it. This demon was afraid of me!"
Sun smiled at me and said, "I am certain you will figure it out, Mistress. Then, you can tell me all about it when we next meet." She gave me a big hug, then took a step back and teleported away.
I have to wonder, Diary. Perhaps having no further information to share with Sun on this particular matter might be for the best, considering what the alternative might mean.

Kat

As of yesterday, Daily Challenges are no more. They have been replaced with the Hero Pass - a variation on the Yak Track. The basic idea is you earn Hero Points through skilling and killing. As you earn XP, you prolgress the Pass to earn rewards.
Upon login yesterday, my 50+ Daily Challenge skip tokens were converted to Hero Points. This advanced my Pass to level 8, and unlocked the following rewards:
Undead Slayer outfit cosmetic override
Undead Slayer book cosmetic override
60 Fort artisan charges (useless member trash)
Hero satchel (2 tiny protean packs, a medium Dungeoneering token box, and member trash)
The 'of the Undead' title
This afternoon, I advanced the Pass to level 10, mostly by thieving from a bakery stall.
I unlocked an award of 100 Underworld Emblems. This new currency can be spent at the Hero Pass store to purchase cosmetics, animations, pets, and more.
Supposedly, this change was made to decrease the amount of DailyScape. So far, I have seen no evidence of this being the case.

Kat
