Dear Diary,

I continued my exploration of the city of Um - and Necromancy until well into this morning.

I visited my new friends Lupe and Sostratus at their shops. Lupe gave me a few candles and some ghostly ink. Sos gifted me a set of Necromancy armor. There are banks in Um. There is even a ghostly fishing spot I will investigate another time. I will need to bring some bait.

I equipped my new robes and teleported to Lumbridge. I tested the combat side of Necromancy by attacking goblins in East Lumbridge. Although this new combat style is pretty weak, as is the deathguard, I did kill ten goblins. I advanced to level 7 Necromancy.

I was ready for a greater challenge. I made my way to the desert mine and unleashed my new powers upon the scorpions. It took longer than usual to kill these beasts, but it was fun conjuring skeletal warriors to smash the scorpions while I blasted them with Necromancy. When I reached level 8, I unlocked the Finger of Death ability. This looks hella cool and hits for more damage. I fought the scorpions until I had raised my Necromancy to level 12.

I returned to The Underworld and performed a ritual to attract another soul to The Well of Souls, which now contains five souls.

Dear Diary,

I further explored the city of Um this afternoon.

I brought 10 fishing bait to the ghostly fishing spot along the southern end of the city - only to discover it is members-only content. Of course it is. I headed northeast to the furnace and the anvil. The furnace functions normally. However, when I moved to the anvil, I felt the need to ask someone's permission first, for some strange reason. There was nobody there to ask. Maybe they went fishing. I smelted 20 rune bars, deposited them in my metal bank, and deposited my fishing bait within a wandering bank chest. I walked west to Lupe's shop, where I purchased some ritual supplies. This completed an achievement.

My RuneScore is now 1,850.

I then went to the entrance chamber, where I performed several rituals. I advanced to 15 Necromancy. At level 13, I unlocked the Touch of Death ability.

I took a break from the rituals and teleported to Varrock. I used Necromancy to defeat five dark wizards. One of them dropped 4 chaos runes, another dropped a staff, and the others dropped coins. At this point, I had raised my Necromancy to level 16.

I returned to The Underworld and performed additional rituals to get to 17 Necromancy. The Well of Souls now contains 10 souls. I stored the bones of the dark wizards and teleported to Edgeville. I climbed to the top of Ice Mountain, where I used my Necromantic powers to kill an icefiend. This creature dropped a silver stone spirit. This fight got me to 18 Necromancy.

Today I also completed Daily Challenges in Dungeoneering, Runecrafting, and Woodcutting.

I skipped the Dungeoneering task, siphoned 8 air runes in the Runespan, and chopped 10 yew logs west of Lumbridge Market.

I redeemed these challenges to reach 82 Woodcutting.

Dear Diary,

Well, that was fun.

This afternoon, I completed Daily Challenges in Woodcutting, Firemaking, and Combat.

I chopped 10 yew logs west of Lumbridge Market and burned them in a bonfire. I decided to use Necromancy for the Combat task. I grabbed my brass key, teleported to Varrock, and ran northwest to the shortcut to the hill giants' lair.

I climbed down the ladder, then used my Necromantic abilities to attack the nearest hill giant. This fight took much longer than I cared for, and I lost roughly half my life points before I finally defeated the giant. It dropped a limpwurt root. This T10 Necromancy gear is terrible! If I had used my melee gear, I would've beaten this giant quickly and easily. I decided to teleport back to the Varrock lodestone in order to finish my Combat task with the help of the dark wizards.

I rushed the dark wizards and began slaughtering them. After I had killed a few wizards, I reached 19 Necromancy. The battle raged on. After I slew the 12th wizard, I managed to attain 20 Necromancy. I will be able to unlock the Command Skeleton Warrior ability, once I earn an additional talent point. I killed 2 more wizards to satisfy the Combat Challenge. The dark wizards dropped 10 body runes, 18 earth runes, 4 nature runes, 10 water runes, 3 black wizard's hats, and a staff, as well as a few coins.

I then teleported to the city of Um. In the southeast section of the city, I spoke with the priestess Selene. She taught me two new prayers: Accelerated Decay and Hand of Doom. I added these prayers, along with Protect from Necromancy, to my Necromancy action bar.

Talking to Selene completed an achievement. My RuneScore is now 1,860.

I am not quite done with Necromancy. I want to see how many more achievements I can get. I also have the Command Skeleton Warrior ability to unlock. However, I have reached the skill cap, so there is little left to learn.

I did not even need my skull collection for Necromancy, it turns out.

Welcome to the RSOF. It is awesome you made your first post here to say nice things about me! I am gratified.

Dear Diary,

Today I completed more Easy Necromancy achievements.

This morning I teleported to Um and headed south. I discovered a large cave entrance. I went inside and fought several level 7 ghostly trolls. They dropped bones and coins. Three of these ghost trolls dropped a piece of cooked meat. From one of them I got a deathstorm drape. This functions like other drapes, except it provides a slight increase to Necromancy damage. Killing a ghostly troll within this dungeon using Necromancy ticked off an achievement.

Later, I explored a house east of Lupe's shop. I went up some stairs, then stepped out onto a catwalk to get an amazing view of the city from behind the clock. Reaching this spot triggered an achievement.

This afternoon, I spent some time battling the undead in the Lumbridge catacombs. First, I dispatched a skeleton, then I beat a pair of corpse mages. Then came the main event. I attacked Dragith Nurn himself! This fight was more of a challenge than it would have been had I not used Necromancy. Nurn damaged me for about 2,800 of my life points, but I beat him to earn 395 XP. Even though I already hit the skill cap, the XP still counts towards earning another Talent Point. He dropped a leather body.

I destroyed another corpse mage and two more skeletons before I teleported out of the catacombs. I conjured a skeleton warrior to help fight one of the skeletons. This fulfilled an achievement.

Thank you again. I do appreciate your words and your readership.

Most of the time, I work alone. Sometimes exceptions are made. I used to train with my friend Ricky for a time. He could usually be found chopping yews in Lumbridge in between goblin raids. We defeated a few raids together. I have not seen him in quite a while. I am not certain he even still plays.

Go ahead and add me. I will add you as well. I mostly play on W34 or W210, though on occasion I jump over to W3.

Which skills do you prefer to train? Maybe we will train together sometime.

Speaking of training... I've been putting out fire with gasoline!

Dear Diary,

The Academy of Heroes has opened yet again for several days starting today.

Sun has returned to me for additional training. This afternoon, she picked up right where she left off, fighting the same level 11 hobgoblin she wounded two months ago, just before the Academy last closed up shop. This hobgoblin had not recovered from the first wound Sun inflicted upon it. Today, she gave it two more wounds. My young student remains at level 14. I expect Sun will attain level 15 very soon. One more solid hit should finish off the hobgoblin.
