Knight Before Christmas Yak Track wrap-up:

I opted to use my last remaining skip token to auto-complete Task #21, rather than harpoon 300 swordfish or burn 1,540 logs (yew or better), since I was running out of time for this Yak Track and either of these grindy tasks would have taken too long to finish.

I went on to complete Task #22 by hunting down five presents in Lumbridge Swamp, Rimmington, Falador, Al Kharid, and Draynor.

Finally, I more than completed Task #23. I had to either craft/siphon 730 body runes or smelt 1,220 adamant/rune bars. I chose to train Runecrafting. However, this time I did not go to the Runespan for any of this task. Instead, I teleported to Varrock, ran to Aubury's rune shop to have him teleport me to the Rune Essence Mine, mined some essence, teleported to Edgeville, and ran south to the body altar, where I crafted the runes before teleporting back to Varrock to repeat the entire process.

I reckoned I would need to make about 11 runs to the body altar in order to craft the 730 runes I had to create. After the 11th run, I had crafted 725/730 runes - I was so close! After the 12th run, I had crafted 793/730 body runes.

I was awarded the Tundral Stalker Sword cosmetic override. This is the one I mentioned in my previous post that I was going for before the Yak Track ended. ^_^

I finished Task #23 with 11 minutes left until the Sunday night reset, when the Yak Track ended. Task #24 was a choice between Smithing or Woodcutting. With very little time and no skips left, I was done with this miserable Yak Track.

Total number of bonds bought: 0

Yes, I'm still winning. :)

Rare Item Tokens were removed from the game today. They were converted to Oddments at a rate of 10 Rare Rare Item Tokens to 1 Oddment. I had around 10,000 tokens, so I gained around 1,000 Oddments. Some Rare Items have become unavailable for now, but certain ones had their prices changed from 7,000 tokens to 700 Oddments.

Given how much easier it is to accumulate Oddments than it was to acquire Rare Item Tokens, these "rares" will be easier to collect, even for F2P. Except for the Telescope, all the rare items added to the Oddments Store today are usable by free players.

I celebrated this update today by purchasing the Bad Weather Umbrella and Polly. ^_^

^ Hope you enjoyed that!

I did, thank you. :)

I also enjoyed the fix released this Monday, to compensate for last Monday's conversion of Rare Item Tokens to Oddments. :P 15,000 free Oddments and 15 free TH keys for all!

I celebrated this by spending 250 Oddments to buy the Chic Scarf. Naturally, I recolored the scarf green in honor of Guthix.

I used up all 17 TH keys I had on Loot Duels - my 1 daily key, the 15 free keys, plus 1 key I got for redeeming a key token I acquired while Dungeoneering.

Speaking of Dungeoneering...

I just won a medium prismatic lamp on TH, and used it to get level 70 Dungeoneering!

Maybe someday I'll actually go dungeoneering. :P

Maybe not. ;)

Congrats Holly. Only 5 levels to go until you can access the resource dungeon in the Al Kharid mine, and those precious gem rocks.

You are doing well for someone who has never gone Dungeoneering! O_o

On Monday afternoon, I went Dungeoneering again. I cleared a small dungeon on Complexity 6. At the end, I fought Har'Lakk, "A magical and powerful demon" - at least according to his examine text. I ran in, used Decimate and Barge on him, and he died in a matter of seconds. He didn't even damage me at all.

Completing this floor also completed a Daily Dungeoneering Challenge. After this was redeemed, I needed just 649 XP to reach the next level.

Late Monday night/early Tuesday morning, I returned to Daemonheim after doing my dailies, which included mining some gold ore, superheating this ore into bars, and crafting the bars into gold amulets, which I alched. When I finished my dailies, I only needed 298 XP to gain another Crafting level. I teleported back to Daemonheim, intent on gaining two skill levels.

I entered another small dungeon on Complexity 6. While clearing the rooms on this floor, I received a total of 10 salve nettles from monster drops. After I had woven these into salve cloth and used the cloth to craft 10 salve orbs, I was 80 XP from the next Crafting level.

At the end, I fought Stomp. It was an annoying battle, but I ended up closing the portal on him - and he lost his head. :P

Before leaving the dungeon, I bought 1 bryll and 1 thread from the smuggler. I crafted a bryll orb, which got me to 22 XP away from my Crafting goal. Then I bought 1 blightleaf and 1 thread. Weaving a piece of blightleaf cloth got me to 18 XP away. Using this cloth to create a blightleaf orb got me to Crafting level 88! :)

After some smithing, fletching, and runecrafting, I teleported back to just outside the boss door. I ran in and ended the dungeon. I reached Dungeoneering level 87! :)

My Total Level is 1600 (Virtual Level 1605).

Four skills are now tied for my lowest skills: Firemaking, Fletching, Prayer, and Woodcutting. These are all at level 86.

Nice gains! 86 as your joint-lowest is pretty good going.

I'm glad you managed to pick up some cosmetics. I'm not too sure how often I'll use most if them, though I do have the scarf! Mine is blue of course, to match my blue shirt from clue scrolls (gifted to me by a friend).

I didn't complete the last two tasks in the end. I assume the rewards will be available for Oddments soon.

I hear we'll have a new track soon!

Thank you, Trewavas. I've been focusing on my lower skills quite a bit. On Tuesday, I completed three Daily Challenges - Woodcutting, Firemaking, and Prayer. I had actually started them all while training Dungeoneering on Monday and on Tuesday morning.

I've used the emote a couple of times. I haven't found the cosmetic rewards to be particularly impressive, so I don't care about missing some of those. I was using the Tundral Stalker Sword overrides for a while, but I did not find them to be as cool looking as the Yak Track Task List suggested. I have since switched back to my usual Firestorm Blades.

I wasn't sure if the Chic Scarf was an F2P item or not. The Wiki was not clear about it. So I bought the item to find out, and discovered it is usable by free players. Out of the 24 RIT items added to the Oddments Store, F2P can use 12 of them. I currently own 4 of those, plus 7 others that are P2P-only, which I won from Antique Chests - back when these chests were actually worth opening. I opened one earlier and got a medium XP lamp, a small XP lamp, a D&D token, and 25 Oddments. I should've converted the entire chest to Oddments.

Original message details are unavailable.
