Success! :)

I paid a visit to the Warriors' Guild this afternoon, where I fought quite a few cyclopes. The level 57s are no longer aggressive towards me, since I am CL 115 (more than twice their combat level). The level 68s rushed to welcome me, though. :P After I had killed about a dozen of them, along with a level 57 which got in my way, the last level 68 cyclops was nice enough to drop a rune defender for me!

For a long time, I have owned two of every defender available to free players - except I had just one rune defender. I found that one fairly quickly, but finding a second one was proving to be a challenge. After several trips to the top floor of the Warriors' Guild and many, many dead cyclopes, today I finally have my second rune defender.

I also found a black sword, 22 black knives, and 3 pieces of steel salvage. I'll sell the sword and the salvage. For some reason, I've been holding on to the black knives. I currently have 642 black knives and 420 off-hand black knives in the bank. Mementos, I suppose.

Upon leaving the cyclopes' lair, I noticed I was down to my last 160 tokens used to access these monsters. So I went down to the bank on the first floor, where I stashed my loot and retrieved my spare rune armor. I took this armor to be animated. Fighting and defeating the level 81 armor 15 times earned me another 1,200 tokens, so I now have 1,360 tokens.

Now that I have two of all seven defenders, from bronze to rune, I reckon the next task is to bring one of my rune defenders to fight the cyclossus. I understand these do not drop dragon defenders on free worlds any more. Oh well. I could still win his hat. I'm not sure what good that will do me. My head is not THAT big! :P

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. ;)

Im always amazed at all you can do in f2p.

I always like the cyclopean helmet. i used to give it to clan members on
halloween.

I still have 2 of mine from way back when.

Thank you everyone! :)

Yes, there is much to do in F2P - and I just got another small advance.

I also discovered something disappointing. Enraging, actually.

The good news is I completed a Daily Woodcutting Challenge by chopping a full inventory of yew logs in Edgeville. Yeah, I only needed 25 logs to fulfill the challenge, but I figured I had the time. I ran north, banked the logs, and redeemed the challenge. This got me Woodcutting level 86! :) Now all my F2P skills are at level 86+ except for Dungeoneering and Prayer (both 85).

My Total Level is 1587 (Virtual Level 1591).

The bad news is I handed in my completed Daily Woodcutting Challenge at 7:01pm my time - one minute after game reset. Normally, this wouldn't matter. However, I'd been working towards completing the Dailyscape achievement (turn in challenges 10 days in a row) and this should have been 7/10. As it turns out, although Daily Challenges do not fall off your list after reset until you log out, for the purposes of Dailyscape your progress towards completion of the achievement is reset if you don't redeem a challenge before reset, even if you stay in-game through the reset.

One minute. I missed the window by one minute. Now my progress towards Dailyscape completion is 1/10, again. Had I known the grace period for redeeming Daily Challenges after reset does not extend to progressing Dailyscape, I would've made sure I did that first upon logging in, rather than getting my dailies out of the way beforehand! :@

News: Gareth Drago has just completed the Lumbridge Set Tasks!

Praise Saradomin, I have finally finished up the last three hard tasks I had to do in this set!

Early this morning I crafted 120 water runes at the water altar. Then I burned some yew logs on top of the gatehouse of Lumbridge Castle. This afternoon I baked a chocolate cake in the kitchen at Lumbridge Castle.

I then claimed the Explorer's Ring 4 from Ned. He also gave me an antique lamp. I used that lamp to gain 9,000 XP in Prayer.
Saradomin be with you.

Happy Thanksgiving 'Scapers! :)

To celebrate the holiday, I have done something I have thought about doing for quite some time - and today seemed like the perfect day on which to do this.

I am now the owner of my very own house in Rimmington!

My house has a basic garden (with the POH portal), a parlour, and a kitchen. The parlour contains three crude wooden chairs, two wooden bookcases, and a clay fireplace. My garden has no plants or trees, and my kitchen is an empty room. I have no curtains or rugs yet.

It may not be much, but it's home. At least my POH has more potential than the room I used to stay in above the Varrock General Store.

Oh, and building the furniture for my new parlour completed a Daily Construction Challenge. I am currently 5/10 towards completing Dailyscape.

This time, I don't intend to miss out on turning in a challenge by a minute!

Nice progress!

By the way can the Dailyscape Challenge be done even if say you have 1 task in the day e.g. You have maxed stats and mark off every skill except 1?
