Ugh. Another Yak Track arrived this week, and brought disaster with it! A lot of players reported that opening their Yak Track interface would crash their game. The players were urged to switch from Compatibility Mode to Normal Mode before logging in to resolve the issue.
On Monday, after the update, my game froze completely - before doing anything with the Yak Track! Logging back in resulted in a black screen. Nothing I tried fixed the problem, until I switched from Normal Mode (which is what I usually use) to Compatibility Mode. It's a little laggy, but at least I can play again, after losing an entire day's worth of 'Scape time!
I listened to the mechanical yak's backstory to complete Task #1. Skilling and killing completed Task #2. Currently, I'm chopping yews in Edgeville for Task #3, which is to chop 270 willow, maple, or yew logs. That was a better option than stringing 650 bows.
I noticed there are no fun tasks which have nothing to do with grinding this time around, but playing minigames has been added as an option instead. That's disappointing, as are the rewards. Hand-me-down cosmetic gear? Who wants to wear that? One emote, which isn't unlocked until Tier 45, but several more pets? *rolls eyes*
I am not too motivated to progress through this Yak Track, and there is certainly no danger of me buying any bonds to skip through this content.

Early this morning, I made additional progress on Yak Track Task #3 by chopping more yews in Edgeville. At the moment, I have chopped 140/270, which is five full inventories.
I banked the first inventory of yew logs. After that, I took the other inventories of logs to build bonfires outside the western door to the Edgeville bank. As I added log #19 from the third inventory of yew logs to a bonfire, I went over 100,000,000 in Total XP!
Another milestone reached this month!

^ Thank you! It has been a productive month indeed.

I finished Task #3 this afternoon by chopping 270 yew logs in Edgeville. I burned some of the logs and banked the rest. As a result, my Firemaking and Woodcutting XP totals are now quite close to one another.
For Task #4, I can either catch 120 fish or cook 635 pieces of food. When one option is so much more of a grind than the other, is it really much of a choice?
Karamja, here I come!

I more than completed Task #4 in Karamja by harpooning 132/120 fish - 61 swordfish and 71 tuna. I returned to Lumbridge, where I banked the raw fish plus 26 bananas.
This earned me Thok's hand-me-down oar. Why did I want this?
For Task #5 I can either earn 15 Thaler playing minigames, or smelt 1,080 bars (steel or better). It looks like only three minigames - Cabbage Facepunch Bonanza, Fist Of Guthix, and The Great Orb Project - will qualify towards this task for F2P. Two of those I have no interest in learning how to play, and FOG has been dead for so long it's depressing to go there. So it looks like I'll be smelting.
Again I ask, when one option is clearly so much worse than the other, do you really have much of a choice? I don't believe so.

I more than completed Task #5 in Al Kharid by smelting 1,083/1,080 bars. The majority of these were steel bars, but I smelted a couple hundred mithril and rune bars as well.
This unlocked the Replica Laniakea Poison ranged weapon overrides. Now, on those extremely rare occasions when I fight using ranged weapons, if I use one-handed weapons (which I never do), I could appear to hurl vials of poison at my opponents.
So yeah...another cosmetic override I'll never use. Yay.
For Task #6 I can either mine 175 ores (coal or better) or I can burn 1,235 logs (willow or better). Naturally, I'll be mining, thank you.

I more than completed Task #6 by mining 200/175 mithril ores at the southwest Varrock mine.
This got me Thok's hand-me-down gauntlet.
I went on to more than complete Task #7, which was a choice between crafting 1,050 pieces of ranged armor made from snakeskin, green dragonhide, or blue dragonhide, or crafting/siphoning 305 body runes. I happened to have an active Daily Runecrafting Challenge, so I went into the Runespan and siphoned 200 points of runes from body esshounds and two fleshy growths, which had spawned near the ladder connecting the bottom and middle levels almost simultaneously. This resulted in 286/305 body runes. Sure, it would've been easy to stay in the Runespan a little longer and siphon the last 19 runes I needed to finish the task. However, doing so would've messed up my Runespan point total. I like nice round numbers. I teleported to Varrock, got my body talisman from the bank, and had Aubury teleport me to the Rune Essence mine. After gathering 27 pieces of essence, I teleported to Edgeville and ran to the body altar, where I crafted 67 body runes for a total of 353/305 runes. I then went to the G.E., where I grabbed 3 free runes before banking all 70.
Task #8 looks to be interesting in that I'm not certain which option will complete the task first. I can either bury 400 bones or "skill and kill" 20 times. As it happens, I have a Daily Prayer Challenge I can complete in the next 4 days, so that will work with this task quite nicely. It's funny how things just come together sometimes.

On Monday I bought a total of 600 fire runes, from the shops in Burthorpe and in Varrock, then got 30 bronze arrows and 300 bronze bolts for free from Lowe. Next, I sold all of these items at The Grand Exchange, then used those coins to purchase 380 big bones, intending to use these to help complete Task #8 - to bury 400 bones.
Since I still needed another 20 bones, and I had a Daily Prayer Challenge to work on, I paid a visit to the hill giants. They were not happy to see me.
I killed 25 giants, buried their bones to complete the challenge, and walked away with a pack full of limpwurt roots, which I sold for a nice amount of gold.
I decided to do my daily tasks of collecting my free hamper of food from the Lumbridge Cook and mining gold north of Al Kharid, then crafting those gold bars into amulets to alch, along with the food from the hamper (except the pizzas, which I bank) before burying those big bones I bought on the G.E. However, when I checked my task list, I saw all the skilling and killing I had done in preparation to bury the 400 bones had advanced the Skill and Kill option to 18/20!
So I decided to log out.
This afternoon, I started with my dailies. I had just begun crafting a full inventory of gold amulets when I completed the Skill and Kill option to finish Task #8. I can now save those big bones for a future Prayer task. I was awarded a small XP lamp, which I used to gain 4,762 Prayer XP. Not as much as I would've received for burying 400 bones, of course, but I still have those bones I can put to good use at a later time.
I'm now back in Edgeville working on Task #9 - to chop 170 logs (willow, maple, or yew). The other option would've been to kill 447 monsters.
