Ah, the Yak Hair's fine! I have plenty of it scattered around the place myself, though I have been prioritising Archaeology. At the time of this post, I'm 28 experience away from 120!

But enough about me. I actually can't believe I haven't posted in here before. I've read your goals of course (I think for the song parody I wrote for you), but never acknowledged it. That changes today! :P

This is a really well written thread, and I like your little Q&A section and your backstory. I also like how you're detailing your progress with the current iteration of the Yak Track. I'd never really stopped to think how challenging it must be for the F2P community (which I do have sympathy with), so it's interesting to see how you approach them.

It's good to see you gaining some new cosmetics and pets! I remember wanting them when I was largely F2P a fair few years back.

Good luck with the rest of the track, I'll be sure to stop buy and have a look. :)

Thank you very much, Trewavas! I'm glad you enjoyed what I've done with the ol' thread here - and that you've now officially become part of it! May Guthix have mercy on your soul...I mean, welcome aboard! :D

I don't really mind the challenge of remaining an F2P pure. I like figuring out how to best meet these challenges, and I'm happy to share my tips here and elsewhere on the forums. Besides, others have it worse - imagine completing the Yak Track as an F2P Iron account! :O

Actually, I rarely use any cosmetics, and I find pets to be annoying, mostly. Usually, the only cosmetics I use are the firebrand weapon overrides and the phoenix aura. I do quite like the animations and emotes though. I have fun with those! :)

Feel free to stop by anytime. As for the yak hair, maybe Jagex will release Housekeeping as the next RS skill...or not. :P

I've been working on Yak Track task #22 this afternoon by cooking swordfish. Currently, I'm at 476/1,215. After I'd cooked swordfish #301, I reached Cooking level 91! :)

My Total Level is 1562 (Virtual Level 1563).

Yak To The Shadows update:

I finished Task #22 by cooking 1,215 swordfish. This left me with just 97 raw swordfish left in my bank. If I should have to do another Cooking task, I will have to stock up on raw swordies. No, I didn't make any cheese wheels. Dealing with buckets of milk is annoying!

For Task #23, I can either mine 325 luminite/runite ores or complete 11 Abandoned 2 dungeon floors. Of course I'll choose Mining over Dungeoneering!

Yak To The Shadows update:

I more than completed Task #23 this afternoon by mining 180 luminite and 180 runite ores over two trips to the Mining Guild and the Dwarven Mine. I also mined 240 iron ores.

For Task #24, I can either bury 1,000 bones or craft 810 green dragonhide bodies/shields. Looks like it's time to stock up on big bones. Why big bones? Because they're actually quite a bit cheaper than regular bones, even though they grant three times the XP. Sure, dragon bones and baby dragon bones give even more XP - but these can only be bought, not gathered, on free worlds...and they are expensive.

Yak To The Shadows update:

I buried 1,000 big bones to complete Task #24. This amounted to 35 full inventories, plus a 36th inventory of 20 big bones.

Task #25 offered me the choice to either burn 1,440 mahogany, yew, or magic logs or smith 55 adamant/rune items. Naturally, I chose Smithing. I'm making more rune arrowheads. :)

Once I finish this task, I'll be halfway done with this Yak Track! :D

Yak To The Shadows update:

I more than completed Task #25 this afternoon by smithing 56/55 sets of rune arrowheads. This gave me 4,200 arrowheads to add to my collection. I now have 65,200 in my bank.

I went on to complete Task #26 - and this was a fun one! :) Where in F2P can one kill a yak? Nowhere I know of, but no worries. I did the Hungry for knowledge task by bringing the Zarosian Vigil pet to the Wizards' Tower and searching 5 different bookcases. Each time, the pet ate one of the books! :O O_o This generated one of three different responses from me. I wonder if this pet will continue this behavior after the Yak Track is over. It would be great if the Yak Tracks had more fun quirky little tasks like this - but then more players would enjoy actually doing the content, instead of buying bonds to purchase task skips so they don't have to grind through the content, which is why we have Yak Tracks at all.

I dismissed the naughty Zarosian Vigil pet, claimed my reward, checked out the next task, and logged out.

Task #27 will require me to either bury 1,200 bones or smelt 1,610 adamant/rune bars. I'm not sure yet which task I'll do. I only know I won't be using my one remaining skip token quite yet, nor will I be buying any. If I find some skip tokens at the beach event, that would be cool...but I'm not counting on it.

Many gains over the past few days! A congratulations is in order. :)

I too hardly use my pets. I appreciate having them, I just don't use them that much! The Zarosian Vigil was a nice little piece of content, and something to break up the skilling/combat focused tasks a little.

Well done on 91 Cooking too. Only eight more levels to go! :P

Thank you much, Trewavas! :) Skills like Cooking, Fishing, Firemaking, and Woodcutting I don't train much these days, unless I have to for a limited time event like the Yak Track.

I'm still amazed my Cooking and Fishing levels are now equal to my melee combat levels! :O I certainly was not expecting that to happen!

Thanks Threes, but over the past couple of days - between exploring the beach and fighting against a level 5,000,000 lag monster which made the game virtually unplayable on Tuesday - it's been more like hardly grinding! :P Today RS is working so much better! The game only crashed twice so far this afternoon, and the lag is nowhere near as bad as it was Tuesday! :)

Since I've actually been able to play today, you know what it's time for...
