Day 21 - Uncut Diamond
It seems to me like every ironman faces that one particular item in the beginning of their journey, which would be so simple to get without the ironman mode restrictions, but which is very annoyingly out of their reach because of said restrictions. For me, that turned out to be an uncut diamond.
I'd checked the requirements for fairy rings, and I met them all now, so I thought "why not make my life so much easier for travel?" and went to complete the fairy questline... up until I hit the part of making magic secateurs. One of the items needed for it (randomly chosen) was an uncut diamond, and I had foolishly cut all the ones I'd received from Wintertodt. Getting a new one proved very challenging:
1. Mining it from gem rocks would've required completing shilo village quest, in addition to the RNG involved in mining it from the rocks. This would've been okay, had I owned a charged amulet of glory, without which mining said rocks is significantly slower.
2. Thieving it would've required a very high thieving level + cave goblin quests + RNG, so it was out of the question as well.
3. The only monster that I could realistically get it from was a quest monster from one small favor, which also required shilo village to start. This way was the only guaranteed way to get it.
So because the option #3 was the only 100% way to get it, in addition to progressing towards the quest cape, I chose it. After hours of travelling across Gielinor, I finally got the damn gem, and became a friend of the fairies to gain access to the fairy rings.
In other news:
-Other completed quest today was: the Depths of despair.
-Achieved 100% Hosidius favour.
