I second all of the posts above. The very least they could do is be honest about the requirements. Next, they should have given priority to be compatible with the majority of the devices in the market before releasing more spots.

And now, after I've asked them, through at least 3 different means, what exactly are these hidden requirements that make my device not compatible, I've got nothing more than an auto reply that says absolutely nothing.

It's a bit annoying to not get an actual reply, after already not being given warning in advance that my phone wouldn't be compatible anyway.

Moto Z2 force, Octacore CPU ( dual 4 core cpus ), Snapdraon 835 ( not the herb, but I'm praying I can download at 1am tonight ), 4 GB RAM, and 50 GBs of free space, Android 8.0, OpenGL ES 3.1

Reads my device is compatible, but I cannot select it from the list.

Possible issues:
My phone e-mail is different than all my other e-mails.
My phone is listed as Moto Z (2). My Threads:
Starting Player Owned Ports-v2

Probably you should try this, as sometimes this error message comes up for bigger apps such as Instagram.

To fix the “your device is not compatible with this version” error message, try clearing the Google Play Store cache, and then data. Next, restart the Google Play Store and try installing the app again.

Pull down the notification bar on your Android device and hit the gear-shaped settings icon, or find “settings” in the application tray. From here navigate to Apps, or App Manager. Then scroll down and find Google Play Store. Select this, and tap Clear Cache or Data as shown below. Clue Drops -> 3a Range Top (h357), 3a Full Helm (h439), 3a Druidic Staff (e969), Barrows Dye (h1755, h2546, e680, e1567, e2038, e2160, m480, m783, m862), Shadow Dye (e510, e1970, e1985, h2948), Ice Dye (e1539, e2804), 3a Dye (e3129)

just tried that, didn't work for me. :( Thanks for the tip anyway.

I got a suggestion from someone another thread that worked for me:

I got the same problem with my xiaomi redmi 3s problem. I found a workaround.
1) You can have a friend that have a friend with compatible android phone download it from google play and share the apk to you through another apps sharing such as "ShareIt".

or

2) Download an android simulator such as "Bluestack", then download the runescape app using it. after that send the apk to your phone. Theres a tutorial on the internet on how to transfer an apk in "bluestack" to a phone. You should look it out. (hints - backup the apk and save to pc, then transfer to android phone)

I personally did the second method and got it to work on my LG 'G4', I thought it wouldn't work but it did! Give it a try if your phone isn't "compatible".

My Oneplus Two gave the message on the 1st October that my device is incompatible despite working perfectly fine 2 days ago (and every time before that). I uninstalled the app to reinstall and see if that would work but now that app is entirely invisible so I cannot re-download.
