But I am here to whine about a previous update. The one that shows our character as a shadow when we are hidden behind foreground objects.
It is constantly triggering on my lovely boots. That in itself wouldn't be a huge problem because I am sure I have something dark I could use in my cosmetic overrides.
The problem is that after a while the grey from my boots starts to creep up my body. To the point that I am constantly stepping into and out of the grey with no foreground object. Just standing there in the open if I rotate the camera it is activating.
There is some kind of malfunction in the way the game calculates what part of my body is hidden. And to be honest I don't really care if you fix it or not. Just let me turn it off. I know where my dude is, even if your server does not.

The patch note "Acquiring Inquisitor Staff pieces, Spear of Annihilation tips and dragon mattocks generates Friends and Clan broadcast messages." got removed from the news post on the website but is still in this list.
Has this patch note been added or not?
Most likely they removed it because it does not work. I just got a staff piece and there was no broadcast.
I had this happen, was told to submit a lost item ticket and bug report. I did this and I understand Jagex is very busy at the moment but this is killing me.
Is anyone affected by this bug going to receive any sort of compensation or are we just supposed to suck it up?
All I'm asking is a reply from any Jmod. If we gotta suck it up and move on then so be it. I'll live with it but I'd like to know one way or the other.
Both the Pontifex Signet Ring and the Legatus Pendant can be added to the Toolbelt.
Yes! Thank you so much! Didn't make sense that these weren't in the toolbelt, especially with the chaos star, etc being tool belt items!
The contents of your Material Storage are viewable from the Archaeology Journal via the 'Information' option.
Excellent! A useful time saver!
Excavating a tetracompass reward uses the usual blue Archaeology excavation bar.
Wait,
whaaaaat?!?
What
in
HFIL
does
that
mean?
It
seems
to mean that getting a compass piece will
reset the progress bar
for finding artifacts!
Please,
no!
It already takes more than enough time to get all the artifacts from a site, why would you have the stupid compass pieces
reset
our progress?
Why, why, why?
If you're going to make compass pieces destroy our progress towards artifacts, at least add an option to stop receiving compass pieces, like clue scrolls have (praise Brassica Prime! the curse of the clue scroll is finally lifted), especially since the tetracompass is just a clue scroll in sheep's clothing! (in case you haven't figured it out
I really hate clue scrolls!
)
Actually
, even if I've misunderstood the nature of this update...
could there please be an option stop getting compass pieces?
Pretty please, with
cabbage
on top?

Stay calm. That's just the colour of the bar, when you're digging out your compass chest. It was dark blue before the update and now uses the light tone you're always seeing in archaeology.

The creeping grey blackout thing I mentioned above might be triggered by the Zaros protection event in Al Kharid. Need to collect some more data to be sure. Either way, it is cleared up by going to the lobby.

Okay. Thanks for clarifying! Since I've yet to do any compasses, I didn't know there was a prog bar for digging them up. So seeing that the compass would "use" the regular arch bar kinda freaked me out!
I still think there needs to be an option to turn them off.
But at least the compass clues aren't too annoying.
