They are completely doable, but requires patience (i.e don't take unnecessary risks). It also helps if you utilise the Surge ability (or Double Surge), the Bladed Dive ability, and all these other gear to make it as efficient as possible: https://runescape.wiki/w/Bgh#Gear,_Abilities,_and_Unlocks
To be honest, there's no point in doing double/triple dinos for Tier 1/Tier 2 Dinos, unless you intend to sell the resulting "high priced" meat on the GE. You should deliberately get caught (well after you've collected enough logs, vines, and poison for the following encounter), rather than leave the encounter, as the latter will count towards the 5-6 encounters you can do per hour.
For Tier 3 Dinos, they are absolutely worth it as double dinos give 3 rolls and triple dinos gives 6 rolls on the drop table (i.e. for more chances at a Maul Drop). Clue Drops -> 3a Range Top (h357), 3a Full Helm (h439), 3a Druidic Staff (e969), Barrows Dye (h1755, h2546, e680, e1567, e2038, e2160, m480, m783, m862), Shadow Dye (e510, e1970, e1985, h2948), Ice Dye (e1539, e2804), 3a Dye (e3129)
