I have an issue. My account that I have had for like 3 years that I got back into at the beginning of last year just is gone or reset or hacked or something?!?! I’ve only been playing mobile for the past year. I have the recents passwords the address the zip the area etc all of that. Then when I try to reset my password I get no emails to my email which is weird. I have no idea what happened in game name is DANKWOODS RED ARMY

An account named Dankwoods definitely exists (not spelled in caps lock) and it hasn't been into Old School RS for quite some time.

What error message do you see when you try to login?
Is the password wrong?

Start by working through the Not receiving emails support page to try to get that Password Reset email to arrive.

If it still won't arrive, use the Can't log in? support page.
When you click on the 'Reset my Password' button and it tells you an email has been sent out, click on the 'contact Jagex support' link and take yourself into the recovery system.

edit: also, make sure you are entering the correct login. Accounts under ten years old have email logins.

Hey! I'm having the same problem or its that I can't get into the account!

But I had an account years ago called c00per2 and the name is still taken? any advice?

I doubt id ever be able to remember the email I used for it? pls halp meh

That name is available to select.
If the system isn't letting you select it, your account must be too low in total levels.

Jagex started removing the display names from inactive accounts quite a few years ago.
These old names are put back into the name pool for anybody to take but the accounts need to be a certain minimum total level. This is to stop brand new accounts created to hoard names.

You need to put another name on your account, get into game and train your account up a bit.
Once it is high enough total level, put a membership on your account and head into the name change feature in account management (outside the game).

Please note: you may find your old game activity is in RS3. Old School is a new game, uploaded to play in 2013. While the same login/pw will get you access to both games, players create and train characters separately in each game version. If you haven't played Old School since its release in 2013, you will find yourself on Tutorial Island.

Lastly, nowadays it is a security risk to set one of the old login 'usernames' as the visible display name. If the name you posted is your login, I strongly recommend you don't ever set it as the display name.

Everybody's account is in RS3.
RS3 is continuation of the game we played since the 2000's - the game has evolved.
It's had new names from time to time - RS2 -> EoC -> RS3, but the game and your account progress continues.

OSRS is a new game.
It was based on a 2007 build of the game but was uploaded to play with no saved accounts.
This means that anybody wanting to play in OSRS has to create a new character and start training from Tutorial Island.

The same login/pw will get you access to both games but you create and train a character separately in each game version.
There is no transfer of accounts or game progress across between the two versions.

As a returning player, I recommend you bring yourself up to speed on account security.
Hijackers are still as active as they always were and they keep inventing new methods to cheat others out of their hard earned items and gp.

Hiya,

I'm having a very similar issue to those stated, I believe I last logged into my OSRS account in 2020 and I'm trying to re set up my membership and log into my account today and its a though it does not exist? I've logged in with the correct email, but my name emlou2222 is not working.

when trying to log in, it said I needed to be a member as I was in a members area, so clearly it remembers that I did have an associated account - but then when I buy the membership and try and log in, it has taken me back to tutorial island... I'm scared to do anything and loose all my progress! Can anyone help? TIA!!
