Hi Hmm,

I tried installed your snap to try to run NXT on my Fedora 30 system. It seemed to install without incident, but when I tried launching RS3, all I get is a black screen. The app window appears, the load bar fills, but all that's in the game window is darkness.

When I ran it via terminal, I got the following error:

Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"

Any thoughts?

I've run into a problem while running two NXT clients. Seems like something has changed. There is an error message when running the second client...

Error saving file (10)

Error (26)

Please ensure that access to /home/$USER/Jagex/launcher/rs2client is not blocked by security permissions and is not already open by another instance of RuneScape

I created another user for to run the second client with so it would have it's own home directory and received the same error message.... strange.

EDIT: Ok, it is something locally, maybe filesystem corruption or something causing "permission" errors. Just guessing. I booted into another install and it works fine. Both running Gentoo, same filesystem type just different storage devices. One is hdd and the other is nvme.

Things that make you go Hmmm

EDIT2: Corrupted cache.... Copied ~/Jagex from the working install and now it works again. O_o I just made a soft link when I created the second user so I wouldn't have to download the cache again on cellphone data.

Ehm,.. does anyone know where to find the config files for the size of the menu widgets and their text? I would imagine this not to be the most requested thing, but on my 4k screen, the size of text is so small I need a magnifying glass. Itś nice and all to be able to do all the OpenGL settings, but my problem isn't framerates.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who put this information together.

I decided to come back online after a six year hiatus when I saw Runescape in the Ubuntu software centre after upgrading to Bionic Beaver. Unfortunately that client was horribly flaky and crashed every few minutes.

Next I trawled the support pages but the only solution I could find seemed to have been built for Trusty Tahr, and my attempt to get it working anyway quickly devolved into dependency hell.

Finally I came to this thread; the instructions for installing the NXT client through flatpak were clear and easy to follow, and the game runs just fine!
