I'm sorry to say that I'd have to give your suggestions for improved rewards a big thumbs down. Randoms are far too common for the rewards you suggest to be reasonable. If we got 100 laws from the abyssal network random, then we'd never run out, and there'd be no market for laws anymore.

I honestly think that the current rewards are very reasonable, and in some cases, very generous. Over 300 chaos runes just for traversing a maze? Dragons bones just for killing a zombie? 5-20k worth of gems just for identifying molly's twin? If these events were grindable, people would do them all the time! I'd be willing to bet that randoms are the leading source of gems in the game!
I don't think rewards are the problem with randoms. It's the unplanned interruption that annoys people, and the threat of aggressive monsters that scares them. Simply make all randoms optional, even the aggressive ones, and there will be no problem.
the problem though with how some of them random events are planning to be polled though is that only some are optional as random events.. they are not all optional.. which could completely destroy gameplay for certain people and therefore effect the game more negatively than positively.

Big NO to the random question. First of all, I've seen many bots thwarted by randoms- either killed, trying to mine with a pickaxe handle, or something else. Also, I believe that the frequency of randoms is perfectly reasonable. I don't even remember ever getting the maze random, for example (and my total level is 987). I also believe that the rewards aren't that bad (except for stuff like 20gp). I would have very few gems, be a few levels lower in prayer, and be using a steel hatchet instead of an addy one if it wasn't for randoms.

Why cant you do changes to ahrim/torag/kharil?
Or some of the items? some of them are useless.... and cost under 100k.

The verac set is fine and does not need a change.

Useless barrows items: Ahrim hood/staff Torag hammer kharil coif and torags can use a buff aswell...

You clearly do not understand whats in the blog. It's just an animation so you know when the effect is triggered. Nothing is getting buffed/nerfed. It's just a small 'indicator'.

How about this. Everyone who wants to vote to keep randoms can have them.


Everyone voting to get rid of them can remove them immediately!

This affects MY gameplay, not the gameplay of the people who would vote to keep randoms!


I don't ever want to see them again-they have been so annoying. People first joining the game can choose if they want them or not.

I just beg you to let me remove them for myself. How would my not seeing annoying randoms hurt the no voters? It doesn't-it just $#%&#% me off to see the events over and over and over.

Question: Should the "User has logged in/out" pm notification disappear after 10 seconds?

I feel like this should be optional and toggle-able within the chat settings. Maybe just make it not show logged in and outs at all. I think if it will have a timer then 10 seconds is too short. 30 would seem better.

I've never really gave my two cents about any of the updates, but for some reason, this one really got my attention.

Now, I'm TOTALLY for most of what the blog says. I hate the equipment damaging events, they're just annoying, especially when I look away from the screen for a bit.

But there's lots of people using bot clients, and I feel like removing the effects of randoms will completely enable anyone with a bot client to do whatever they want. While I agree that many bots are smarter now, there's still tons of them using fast written scripts that don't do anything about randoms, meaning the random events that interrupt people should still stay in the game. But I feel that the need for events like the prison pete or the evil bob's island need to go, they take a ton of time out for players who are busy. Leaving in random events that interrupt you from what you're doing until you talk to them, though, are pretty harmless. If you're just powermining or cutting yews, all you have to do is click on the random, and you're free to go, but if you're a bot, you'll be stuck there. There's seriously nothing more annoying than going to pee while you're fishing, and coming back and you're dead or teleported to some location in Draynor.

My proposition is to change the random event mechanics to where they appear, but you can't continue skilling until you talk to them.

Now, aside from that, I unfortunately really don't see this poll passing. There is something sentimental about an evil chicken or a river troll appearing, giving you that chance to show your manliness and kill them in front of all the other skillers. It's just so emotionally rewarding and nostalgic that I doubt most players will be for it*

**;DR: Keep the randoms that interrupt you, but get rid of the ones that teleport you to other places or attack you.
