There can be thousands of debates on whether or not this will be the update to help satisfy those wanting a PvP update. Those debates are irrelevant until we try something.
So why not try this update? Let's further discuss how we can better this situation.
Regarding the oh-so-popular dragon claws. If implemented in the game, once again it provides degradation to the usage of magic and ranged.
Regarding PvP armors and weaponry, if they were to return, lets not have it in the same fashion. They need to be untradeable, only usable in PvP situations, and far less powerful. I'm thinking something of a replica to runite so that it eliminates the cost to get some runite armor with maybe some perks such as prayer bonus or recovering run energy 5% faster when in the wilderness.
Now regarding the system itself. How do we make this a system everyone can participate in, have fun, and not abuse? Well let's take a look at some things.
Abuse can only happen in areas or worlds that are unpopular.
Abuse can only happen in areas in "control" of a player's team or clan.
Abuse can only happen in situations where players do not risk wealth in order to obtain a financially beneficial advantage reward-wise.
We can eliminate the first 2 ways of abuse by limiting this feature to one world. It would force the popularity of the feature to sky rocket within the world, bringing people the element of danger and fun they long for. Some may disagree, but this in fact the only way to make it a popular activity that cannot be abused. The last form of abuse is a bit tougher to eliminate without ruining the integrity of the reward system. So why not change this reward system slightly?
I propose that one emblem can be collected per hour, and that this emblem can either be lost, sold, or upgraded through more accolades. This way, it prevents severe abuse, adds an element of danger, and has a timer, just like EP. Maybe the emblem can also be upgraded quicker in areas with more people.
