This is absolutely ridiculous. The Runescape community is no better than it's ever been. Apart from a few nice exceptions, all people ever do is think about themselves. I guarantee that the majority of the people voting no against this are pkers. Pkers that think, "Oh, this won't effect me therefore, It doesn't need to be in the game." This is going to happen to just about every skilling poll unless it directly benefits pvp. The majority of Runescape are the people who don't runecraft, who don't mine, who don't craft, but the people who pk and make bank in the duel arena. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but it'd be nice if those people could think about the other kinds of players for once.

I'm not a PKer and I voted no. I want a new skill, I just don't want Artisan. PKers are actually a minority of the game, I think something like 25% of the community PKs.

Are you kidding me? Have you been to world 302 edge? PVP worlds? Pking is basically dead, and Pkers are a minority.

P.s. Please vote yes to hunter updates...

Why are we adding new content to "old school" runescape that isnt in rs3... it completely destroys the idea of having old school runescape for nostalgic purposes and what not when you're changing the game in this way. If anything take runescape further up the timeline and add summoning and grandexchange. update agility so its not mostly useless. The game can no longer be called old school runescape when they add this random crap that was never there in the first place. Sorry jagex but how you think this is gonna attract old players to hop back on oldschool rs is beyond me.

What was never understood is that multiple little good things don't necessarily make a good whole.

I believe almost every update that was released to EOC was good and made sense, but the sum total of it, the whole ready game that was the consequence of all those small updates was worse than what they began with.

Same thing would happen with this perfectly fine Artisan skill and players know it.
Great skill, I bet, but does it make OldSchool better as a whole?

All max XP rates could still be 20k/h with no problems. There was no need to ever increase them since classic. Only greed and laziness, both from developers and players, lead to this situation.

Players rather take dragon pickaxe than keep mining with rune pickaxe and save the honor of 99 mining.
And developers rather hand out carrots than sticks. But to make a great game they'd have to be
merciless
.

People are voting no because they want to stop any and all change... This should pass it does not hurt anyone and only adds another benifit to the game. I don't skill very much at all and still cant understand why anyone would oppose something that adds more to the game and does not make anything OP or is a complete game changer. I think we should start taking the 55% majority as the winner not 75%. Getting any body of people to agree on something at a 75% rate is hard to do with anything. 90% of the no votes are from nay sayers that dont want any change at all and need to get a life they are turning down updates that they dont think they will use not because they dont like the material in them.

It does effect other players. A new skill is a HUGE deal and economy would change drastically. Honestly if they never even made this poll, no one would know about it and there wouldn't be so much controversy about it, and no one would be compelled to quit.

So sad the game is going to die if dumb people keep voting no to every update

Back in actual 2007, the game was FLOODED with new players, not because of updates but because friends would tell friends about it so they would have someone to play the game with and it was fun. There was a social aspect about Runescape back in the day that I've noticed has diminished. Maybe it's because we were all 12, or because the RS Youtube community changed from RSMVs/Shorts to livestreams/commentaries (due to Youtube itself changing), or just RS in general changed to the point where everyone is more focused and obsessed with being maxed out in every skill, they just get bored after a while. Everything got complicated and it became a completely different game. There are barely any new players on 07 simply because there is no strong F2P community in osrs. I think if there should be any update, bring back a permanent F2P available to ALL accounts. Let's be real; you can't get addicted to a game like Runescape on a "trial." That is really the only way to get serious newbz back on RS. Who would ever want to pay $8 for a game they've never played before or aren't even used to? I wouldn't. I didn't play as a member when I first started out. I actually didn't get member's until after about a year of playing Runescape. Yeah, gold farming bots are annoying, but J mods are getting better at detecting and terminating them*

T L ;DR- Updates don't bring new players. F2P does.

Hmmm, I actually like the concept, but I thought the "Old School" was to bring back the game as it used to be, not be a development platform. The original "Old School" concept has already been corrupted with the massive addition of "rares" and the transfer of gp between the main game and the "Old School". Why not develop the artisan skill in the main game rather that further corrupt the "Old School" by making it new development platform? Vote no here and yes in the main game.
