Guessing that the skill is probably around the same xp/h as slayer, wouldnt it take longer to get 84 artisan for the boost than to just grind from 88-91 rc? Considering 1-84 is about 3m xp and 88-91 is about 1.5m xp, I think the grind to get 84 artisan would be alot more brutal than 88-91 rc, and it's a bit ignorant of people that are voting NO for artisan because of the esoteric equipment.

2-handed crossbows:
I assume there are range requirements for these, but none are listed. If not, then I can see these being the new best in class weapons for those with strength levels who are just starting to train range.

elm xbow - Hits slightly harder than what? What's the one-handed equivalent? I assume the rune crossbow is the 1-handed version of the yew 2-handed one. I guess it will hit harder than the yew 2-handed and be weaker than the Armadyl crossbow?

I doubt these get much use given that you can equip a god book or dragon shield with one-handed versions. Possibly the elm one will, but I still see a rune xbow with god book having more power.

Slow burners:
I guess the "less chance of burning" feature takes these from being "totally useless" to being "probably useless".

Cooking is a very AFK skill, so it matters a lot about the numbers on these. These need to burn a long time and give a big reduction in burns to be worth the trouble of making/buying them and then lighting the logs while cooking (when you could just use the rouges den perma-fire with gauntlets).

Even if they do offer a good bonus, I think it's very unlikely that anyone but shark cookers would use these. I think sharks are the only fish that still burns at 99 cooking.

So in summary, the reasons artisan won't be voted in are:
1) There is SOOOO much content that there is something for everyone to hate.
2) There are so many details not specified here, that everyone will assume the worst.

You have all these new items and weapons being created. This new thing will temporarily give you a greater chance of catching fish. It gives you crafting XP when you make it. Well, how temporary and much greater chance?? Is this item going to be the new "don't bother fishing without it" thing, or is it going to be so weak that it will be junk? Is making these items going to become the new "most efficient" way to train crafting? How can I tell? I have no details. Do I vote yes and then just trust Jagex won't mess it up? On ALL these new things?

It's your fault this is going down Jagex. The right way to create a new skill is to cut it down to the essentials. In the first chop, don't worry about the making a million new unique item rewards. Just concentrate on the basics. Slayer for skillers. You get assigned skilling tasks, you get artisan XP for doing them. Higher level artisans get access to special new resource areas that are slightly better than existing ones.

Maybe make a couple new resource types, but don't go all nuts on us. Maybe make a few new rewards items that have to do with skilling, not combat. You can always add more later, but you should have started small.

absolutely NOT! This skill better not pass. Not liking ANY dynamic it brings...it screams EOC RS3 type content.

OSRS needs to be left alone. Jagex has done massive damage to the main game by forcing content down the players throat then lying about the feedback (EOC). You can undo the f ups by leaving OSRS ALONE.

Post Andrew Gower Jagex will go down as the worst dev team in the HISTORY of gaming if this skill "magically" passes. I will promptly unsubscribe if the artisian skill is passed.

It's nice to see fellow Runescape patriots ITT shredding this TERRIBLE artisan skill idea to bits. I hope the next poll on this skill tanks miserably and then Jagex will have to actually focus on making some decent content that's not game breaking. Better idea yet...LEAVE OSRS ALONE YOU THICK SKULLED BAFOONS.

I swear Jagex is intentionally trying to sabotage this game on all levels. The Jagex motto is "2 steps forward, 20 steps back".

Rock The Red said :
it failed the first poll

*billy mays voice*

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

I don't understand why (normally) once an update fails a poll it gets forgotten about but artisan has been in the making for something like two months now with hardly an increase in support at all. My vote is, has been and always will be no.

lmao!

In all seriousness though this concerns me. Just like with EOC it seems they are intent at releasing this terrible skill no matter the real feedback. I bet Jagex is whipping up another rigged poll to justify Artisian support.

Horrible skill idea Jagex... LET IT GO.
