Just thinking about the extra requirements, I'm not sure how possible it would be without speaking to Ash (he's off today) but can you think of any existing pieces of content which we could tie unlocking the courses in to? For example, you need to do Tribal Totem quest to unlock the Ardougne Course, or One Small Favour to unlock Seers.

Great idea. Add quest requirements to all new courses and then increase the max XP per hour a bit. I feel that it's to low for new courses. Especially the high level ones.
I think that adding quest requirements will be a good reason to increase the XP rates a bit.

We (lvl 3s) are NOT asking to be catered to! Good grief, there are NO REQUIREMENTS to get to Ardy, Draynor, Falador, ect.. To then ask that a quest requirement be added is simply being cruel to us skillers for the sake of being cruel!

WE ARE NOT ASKING TO SUDDENLY HAVE ACSESS TO CANIFIS OR OTHER QUEST REQUIRED AREAS!!

This is NOT a COMBAT or QUEST related update!

WE ARE NOT ASKING TO HAVE EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN BE MADE FAIRLY FOR US!

Good grief you Skiller hating people really drive me crazy... -.-

How about the lvl 3's with 99 agility that are now in the game? They will feel their achievement has been devalued.

Now THIS is what you call "catering to"
Why should the game not grow and evolve?

That being said, there are other ways to go about implementing "requirements" IF they absolutely must... BUT making the update all together useless to some of us is ridiculous...

I'll say it again.. this is NOT combat related in anyway. Combat should be left out of it all together.

Combat is a huge part of the game and ingrained in almost every skill. While I agree with you that the new courses shouldn't be forced to have quest reqs when the areas they're in don't have the same reqs, taking such a separatist view on combat and noncombat updates is dumb. Sometimes it makes sense for noncombat content to have combat requirements, such as the Ape Atoll Course.

Secondly, the addition of requirements should not depend on if it restricts some people from using the content or not. You're forcing yourself to stay at level 3 -- there is no in-game restriction on you. Thus, you shouldn't expect to be able to unlock all content.

Demanding to have accessibility to an update because of self imposed restrictions is indeed asking to be catered to. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, I was upset back when Ape Atoll was released and I couldn't access it because I was level 3. For better or worse, as of right now and more than likely this will be accessible to everyone. If the roofs were added with quest requirements, the update would only be useless to you if you chose to play the game that way.

Personally, as a skiller, I really liked the idea of having Pollnivneach being accessible via the fued. It will still be substantially faster than our current options and it's like a grandmaster quest for level 3's. I'm sure you enjoyed the challenge of Shilo and Lost City as a skiller. Right?

I care not for the complaints of level 3 skillers who are an extreme minority in this game, I'm sorry but if you put the quest requirements mentioned earlier in the thread on I think this would be perfect. What about devaluing other level 3 skillers who have trained agility the slow way? These quest requirements would keep more bots away and doesn't devalue the old courses, seems great to me.

Maybe make the set effect something like never failing an agility shortcut around runescape including abyss agility entrance and being able to use mithril grapple shortcuts without a grapple/crossbow.

Also rework run weight to allow negative run to increase the speed your run energy restores.

These would be some great updates in my opinion.

@Im on a roof

Any quest I can complete and still remain lvl 3 after it is finished is fine. Like I said, challenges are super. Quests that require I RUIN my cherished account are not.

If the course happens to be in an area that is locked to me (canifis) then obviously I am not asking to let in regardless.

So a quest that doesn't require combat is fine, but a quest that requires combat isn't? That's such a dumb way of thinking. If there's a quest that fits the theme/area of the course that would make sense to be a prereq for the course, REGARDLESS OF IF THERE'S COMBAT OR NOT , then it could be a good requirement for the course. Stop dividing things in terms of combat or noncombat.
