Advantages for the game:
-This will give something for clans to actually fight for and will also help balance the number of clan members per clan, since if there are too many clan members a clan will obtain the castle more easily but will gain much less resourcers per clan member, because they the resources are shared through all the members.
-Will be an huge incentive to the creation of clans and for clans to keep clashing, since they actually have something to "own" when they win a battle.
-Clan battles will become much more dynamic since the clans will actually do a siege with assault ropes, siege rams (to destroy the castle's door) and catapults (to destroy the walls and kill people with it) etc.
-There will be more people joining clans (like me).
-Battles between clans will become much more common, huge and fierce.

Just had another idea, IF time sequenced events are possible on the servers.

Perhaps to make firemaking more useful, when outside of major cities/towns after x amount of hours, nightfall arrives and your screen goes from dark to completely black and you will spawn at the nearest town. You will need to light a wield-able torch in order to travel at night.

Perhaps to make thieving more useful have sequenced thief events in randomly chosen locations every 3 hours. There will be a global in game message spawn.

Word from the rouges dead has spread that ____ town has accumulated an abundance of wealth.

You will have a fixed amount of time go and steal from the houses/banks/people of that town acquiring a range of items, from ores to gems to arrows to lucky glory amulets (all depending on your thieving level)

Would be neat to have spontaneous snow/rain/fog if possible as well.

Expansion idea:
A unexplored "Wilderness" type area twice the size of varrock. The area would be the home of all sorts of wild beasts who are FREE to roam around the whole area without any restriction. You could put a couple of bosses in there specific to this area. It would be a fun challenge to find those bosses and kill them while at the same time avoiding all the unpleasant creatures in there. The drops of course would have to be worth it. Maybe possibly putting all the bosses of runescape in that one area and it would be possible for you to fight more than one boss at a time because they are 'free' to go were they please. It would be chaotic fun!

It kinda feels like the excitement of this land update heavily outweighs the excitement and conflicts with adding a new skill..

Maybe resource and energy could be allocated to this giant project in lieu of the skill work?

Saving the new skill slot for content that could be inspired by the new land mass feels like it has a lot of potential to me.

Just my thoughts.

an underwater city,

YES YES YES make that (non-canonical) Postbag from the Hedge true! Really disappointed RS3 hasn't tackled it, even with the mermaids they added.

I think you can also add:
- Adamant and rune dragons
- Soul altar
- Lizardmen
- Bowswords

There are also some races we know little about:
- Raharni wildcats: These are very rare, almost extinct, on Gielinor
- Pixies: We've seen some during Christmas and H'ween events
- Gatekeepers/Mindslayers
- Cosmic Being
- Centaurs
- Dryads
- Skavids

Would be nice if some of these could be somehow included to give OSRS a bit more depth?
