Something interesting: Over the last few days, I've had some bots pm'ing me. But they're not the gold selling, website advertising type; instead, they just give a short phrase like "Hello" or "Hi" or "Hey". When I add them, their private chat settings are off, so I can't respond.

They're pretty obvious bots given their names, so I just thought maybe you'd like to hear about this behaviour - trying to circumvent detection by appearing more human-like.

so uh explain something to me you say the guys added bot watch to eoc yet ever since you claimed you did there has still been thousands upon thousands of bots what makes you think it will thrive any better in old school runescape? I would also like to point out that some bots seem to be getting smarter as in if you talk to them they respond with limited resources like say woodcutting levels?, bot says xx what can you do to detect that differing from other players with the players themselves having to spam to tell if its a bot

Spooky, have you been on the main version? Because I have, and there are far, far fewer bots now than there were.

Of course, I don't know to what extent to credit that to Botwatch and to what extent to the opening of a fresh new wide open marketplace in OS that they hadn't yet gutted and sucked the life out of. At any given time, bots are a greater percentage of the population on OS, than they are in the main version now. I'm fairly well convinced of that.

seers village bank has become a regular bot bank.flax pickers, maple, willow,yews and magic tree cutters all bank there and the line is endless of the bots coming in and out.from time to time i see either another bot or"master bot" as i have dubbed him..trade other bots one by one which is a collecting of resources i suppose,,sometimes its a bot collecting and sometimes ts a leveled player trading them one by one..i report them also hoping that you will see what they are doing..

the part that upsets me is this..for the many many players that have already or continue to bot are considerably richer than the few months rs has been opened and all the regular players that dont bot and work really hard for all they got..seem like we are poor in comparison..
yesterday i stood in seers bank and listened to a player who was in there 90's combat level ..brag to others that his bank was at 180 million gp..whch seems nearly impossible without botting in this small amount of time ..
i was wondering if theres anyway to rollback the bot owners accounts and take there bot earned gp away?
as far as bots..i often wondered why some sort of IP banning isnt being done as well? i mean why not bot if the only punshment of being caught is to take away that account,,and then all they have to do s make new bot accounts?


to sum it up..
getting rid of the bots wll be great..but the end result will/is/ that all previous bot owners have a ****derable advantage of beng flthy rich already even if they can't bot anymore..they are already filthy rich..=/

I noticed a spot where a lot of bots go to it's at the wizard's tower where you can get teleported to mine rune/pure essence. Most people mine in Varrock since the bank is right there so you can get pure essence a lot faster opposed to going the extra mile between the wizard's tower and Lumbridge bank. So since almost no one goes to mine rune/pure essence in the wizards tower you are far less likely to be reported since it's basically all bots. It's BS and needs to be stopped!
