"- Secondly, what content changes would you like to see shortlisted for the first polls?"

If it's technically feasible, I'd really love if there was an update which made it possible to have something along the lines of a resizable screen mode without actually requiring a full-on graphical update.

I have no idea if it is. All I know is that 800 x 600 RS makes my eyes hurt quite badly after 30-60 minutes, and although I certainly do adjust my screen resolution that entails a bunch of other annoyances & is really a clunky "fix".

Everyone that has 2560 x 1440 or 1920 x 1080 monitors is in physical pain because of this. Halp.

I think a majority of 60-70% should be fine, since its still the majority. Only 51% to get an approval for an update is just to small. Also the time to vote should be 1-2 weeks, since some people can only play on saturday/sunday. Cause of school.

Aslo, what content.
Maybe adding godwards dungeon, if we hit 500k people. Also improvements to pvp would be nice. Like the old bounty hunter with the ep etc. So that items like whips e.d will not drop to worth next to nothing. So both pvp and pvm players can make some money.

"- Firstly, how would you like the community polls to work? For instance, what degree of consensus should be required?"

Oh, this.

Besides having the polls be made clearly visible on the OSS home page, I'd like for them to work as follows:

- Week 1 - After looking through player-made suggestions, J-mods present a list of several updates they believe could are feasible & in the spirit of OSS. Players are allowed to vote for one of these potential changes as their favorite.

- Week 2 - Now that the top-rated potential change(s) have been decided, the players vote on whether or not they would like to see that update take place. Changes must get at least 60% approval in order to go through. At this point, the list of potential updates for next week will also be presented and voted upon.

Now obviously the time intervals might be unrealistically short, but you know what I mean. A week gives people a chance to really mull things over and come to a rational decision, I think it would be best.

Sorry for splitting everything I said up into 3 posts. =)

WHAT?!
So many stupid suggestions on this forum by players who don't understand the point of OSRS. It's a nostalgic project, not a new game. The game wasn't full-screen then, why should it be so now? And the interface as it is now is the 2007 interface. If I wanted 2009/2010 scape then I wouldn't of voted for 2007 scape.

And although rares are cosmetically nice, the reason they are 'rares' is because they are 'rare'. Using the Partyhats for example, they are rare because they were implemented in 2001 and many accounts that had Partyhats had quit or lost them. Adding them into 2007 scape wouldn't make them rare. They'd be as rare as the Cosmic boots are now, and probably worth the same. If you really want them in for cosmetic reasons, then ask for them to be untradeable, otherwise it sounds like you want to make a monopoly on them.

2l;dr
I VOTED FOR 2007 SCAPE, NOT 2010 SCAPE, IF YOU WANT 2010 SCAPE, PLAY A PRIVATE SERVER.
-
Now that's done, I can add some suggestions.
The grimy herbs is a good way that people can avoid being scammed (although this isn't an issue now, it could be in the future when people NEED Lantadymes and Snapdragons to train Herblore) as people can advertise a unidentified as whatever they want and potentially scam.
I prefer the grimy option.

I'm not sure how bots work, but I've heard that they need the stand-alone client to function. If having a OSRS client means that people can make bot scripts for OSRS, please, don't make the client.

Gambling isn't a problem now because everyone is broke and nobody has a reputation, but soon enough it might be. Why not give flowers a rotation (e.g. red, blue, rainbow, yellow, pastel, *hite then black and keep rotating like that)?
It could stop people introducing gambling methods for a while.

I would love the scroll wheel camera maneuvering ability back in if possible, but that's just an accessibility thing. I'll get over it not being implemented.

No GWD. At least not at the moment. Please. Ty.

All IMO

To prepare for this, we've got two topics we'd love your feedback on:
- Firstly, how would you like the community polls to work? For instance, what degree of consensus should be required?

I for one think that any future polls for content to be added/changed/removed needs to receive a very high support percentage from the '07 community before any ideas are even considered (Changes/Updates need to get 75% to 80% positive feedback for that change/update to be given the go-ahead). That's my only concern/suggestion.

Thanks
