Its honestly disheartening seeing so many people opposed to any type of changes. Don't listen to the naysayers--changes need to happen. Consider being a new player and seeing the wide variety of weapons, but finding out its a complete waste of time to use anything but scimitars to train your stats; where is the fun in that? Updating the maces, warhammers, and battleaxes would enforce learning a variety of monsters' weaknesses, and encourages using a variety of weaponry to tackle each foe. Same goes for the blowpipe. I don't find it fun at all to default to using the blowpipe in the vast majority of circumstances-im a huge fan of using crossbows but they're just outclassed outside of niche situations, and its just so boring.
I know people are really going to hate this, but I really like the tier structure that RS3 has embraced. It creates a clear division between the tiers of equipment and properly reflects said equipment's strength. This type of system would enable the devs to create new content, and properly implement it without convoluting and confusing the hierarchy of previous gear. New, late game content coming out? Make it tear 85 or 90 to solidify that. Med content being released? place it in the tier 60-70 bracket. This just makes sense to me.
I know everyone is preconditioned to hate on RS3, but honestly if they'd take a minute to actually try and analyze much of the systems used, they'd see much of it has brought a high quality of life to the game and secured its longevity with those decisions. I'm a die hard OSRS man at heart, I originally started playing the game back in 2003, played through till 2010, and ive played OSRS since its release 8 years ago. I love this game, and I have the utmost faith the devs will properly implement these changes in the appropriate ways.
Much Love!!
