Any rewards that have some monetary value should be balanced with extreme caution. Right now, the optimal gp/hour one can expect from an extremely reliable source of income (such as Vorkath or Zulrah) is about 2m gp/hr. If this system were to be abused, one should NOT be able to make this much per hour from rewards alone. Note that your opponents loot is a reward in itself.

Of course, other cosmetic rewards should be something that the hunter can wear while pursuing their target that displays their achievements. Perhaps ornament kits that can be attached to regular black dhide chaps or rune legs etc. that don’t penalize the hunter for choosing their decorative hat over their best-in-slot berserker helmet. There’s no point to these cosmetics if you can’t flaunt them in the wilderness without simultaneously penalizing yourself.

Lastly, new players should be rewarded for at least trying this new system. Although tokens are rewarded for killing your target, perhaps a small amount of tokens should be rewarded for doing damage to your target - for fighting back and standing your ground. This way, new players are given a small taste of the rewards and are even more motivated to get that first kill.

These are just my personal ideas. I’m sure there are ways in which this system may be able to be abused by teams, which needs to be addressed. This new system does NOT favor those who like to run around 1-iteming in the wilderness with a granite maul. It, unfortunately, does not favor vengeance PKing as we know it. It’s time we face the truth. PvP without overhead prayers is FAR too luck-based. People now have the ability to easily hit 100+ in a few game ticks. Only the highly skilled can out-eat that sort of damage. Often, players tab out after both players have dumped their special attacks because there is simply no point in staying in the fight. There is no knockout potential. These fights between two highly skilled players quickly turn into a competition of who can get lucky enough to hit a 130+ stack first. It’s essentially staking at that point - highly luck based. The granite maul is entirely to blame for this. Classic vengeance PKing can remain in PvP worlds, but this is not the idea for this proposed bounty hunter system. The new system is comparable to LMS, but takes place in the wilderness with everyone’s personal account that they put in time and work to train to be able to compete with other players.

Please consider this new system. This is somewhat of a radical change, but I believe it’s the way forward for a PvP minigame named “Bounty Hunter.”

Hello osrs staff,

Please bring back :
- Bh craters
- Soul wars
- Stealing creation
- Dungeoneering
- Summoning

So we all enjoy the time we have to be inside alot more! :D , Or make a poll again u staff team can make this game bigger again so we will have alot of activity to do ingame! Even when people don't like those options it will be amazing for the people that do like them. Those games which are already in RS3 no one plays them so why not bring them to 07 for the people that actually want to play.

Please bring atleast 1 of them back :(

Most suggestions sound good. It seems to be leaning towards the older system with the improvements of the newer. Hopefully it can't be farmed in the way the new was.

I am utterly shocked that Vesta's longsword is being offered in such a nonchalant way. If I remember correctly it and the other ancient equipment have failed multiple polls at this point but there has been an unprecedented push from certain members of the old school team to add them. Adding these to deadman and tournaments have all been attempts to soften us up to these items but these are too game changing for old school.
RIP Forums :(
Finally we have signatures in the surprise forum update. I'm Lewis, I play Old School & I've been playing since 2005.

How would the addition of the VLS be game changing? Dragon claws can hit 70+ back to back with little time between attacks. An AGS can hit upwards of 80 damage with a single special attack (this weapon now costs a measly 13m). I simply do not follow the logic that a VLS will be game changing. What are your thoughts? Clans focusing singles pkers? Is it just too accurate? Please explain. I feel that people quickly dismiss the introduction of ancient weapons because they do not truly understand what is already out there. The majority of these "no-voters" are PvMers that simply do not want to die while bossing in the wilderness or completing a wilderness clue. It is not at all an educated vote.

Hello, thank you OS team for another attempt at balancing this minigame. I usually do not participate in PVP much, but I have recently gotten very close to maxing my CB and i'm very interested in trying it out more. These are my suggestions for what would be fun and the possible rewards that I would consider grinding myself.

1) The emblems seem like a weird idea to me overall. I feel as if the highest tier emblem should cover the "general" cost of PKing supplies and then maybe 10% profit. The bulk of the moneymaking should come from loot due to PKing.

2)I do not like having to trade in emblems as the main source of obtaining points. PARTICIPATING in the minigame should be where you obtain your points. Not stored within the item, but separate from the item. You get a kill you get permanent points until they're spent.

3) I DO like that you can obtain more points when you're in the hotspot, doing the challenge, etc. That seems fun and inviting.

4) If there are going to be BH only items then you should incorporate some sort of service that is buyable and usable from the BH store. (Must pay 1 point per 10 manta ray in inventory to convert them into Blighted versions that have better healing or effects, etc. Only usable in wilderness obviously.)

5)REWARDS: I would love to see cosmetic armor/TITLES PLEASE. PVP item specific cosmetics(think of recolors/new item models and effects). Once you die and lose the items you just pay a flat 5kgp fee to have your items recolored again. BOUNTY HUNTER PET. New emotes that are PVP related or modifying existing emotes, POH items that are PVP related. You can seriously come out with so many cosmetics!! I would also love to see some BH specific spells/weapons/armors, but that's the hardest to balance.

Let me know what everyone thinks, thanks.

Here are my suggestions as someone who has been pking for 12 years.

1. No rewards that give us things we already have in another capacity
2. No rewards that create gold in any way
3. No to always being skulled
4. PvP worlds gave us the 30 cb lvl bracket to attack other players, keep this for edge
5. Target kills give you 1 point to use in the shop, shop rewards are untradeable and degrade into nothing upon sufficient use. Items are transferable in their degraded state to another player with half the charges, that way everyone will want to fight people with the new gear. These new rewards would only have stats in the wilderness. These rewards will also degrade into dust after a set amount of time, to prevent players from stocking up on them (aka boosting). No destroying these items in the wildy, prevents loot sabotaging
6. A small chance of receiving any of the shop rewards in your loot from your target, with a pet on this droptable (yeah its boostable but its also just a pet, not gold)
7. Double loot drops from all monsters on BH worlds
8. No non +1 worlds, players are capable of arranging their own unique risks
9. Just two BH worlds, 1 for UK and 1 for USA midwest (almost no one lives in the midwest so the ping would be about the same for east and west coast)
10. Teleporting mid fight should be harshly punished, but not impossible
11. No teleporting for 6 ticks after hitting with your weapon, not just specs
12. Targets will be within a 10 level bracket range
13. In the old days, targets were very hard to get and couldn't be passed on without losing all your target progress, thats what made fighting them so exciting. 30 minutes to get a target with no skips would recreate this, less is more

Shop rewards are:
-Statius, Vestas etc.
-a new set of permanently degradable pvp gear designed for 40 def and 1 def
-a new set of gear designed to create a new pure-Something in an untapped level bracket
-cosmetic rewards for pking weapons and armor, untradeable

I think there is a place in the game for BH, however not as easy to abuse as it currently is. However I don't support the idea of craters coming back. I have been pking exclusively in BH since the introduction of BH worlds pre-eoc. Back when the drop system was erradic and partly useless to combat rwt. I think instead of trying to re-engineer BH to be a new experience we should take it back to the basics.

1. Require risk for drops
- 25k and 75k minimum risk for f2p and p2p was the standard to get drops from pking in BH. I believe this should be re-implemented.

2. Minimum level requirements (total etc)
- I agree that this should be in place, keeps looting bots out as well as being a barrier to gold farming accounts.

3. Rewards
- Rewards for killing your target on BH has been around since after craters. I don't think it should be a point system however it should still be implemented. Possibly as it was when BH worlds were released, where if you met minimum risk and killed your target/another player ELO would decide how much of an additional bonus you would receive on top of the drop from the player you killed.

I don't have too many things that I would change. The appeal of BH has always been reward for the most part. Especially when it came to off setting the cost of supplies etc. Sure if you are good you can multiple players without dying. However if those players drop 20k in value total and you spent 30-40k on food/pots for the fight, it turns into a waste. I always saw BH as a way of offsetting this deficit whether you come out even or profitable. The previous iteration was ab-usable and extremely profitable if you were good at getting a high volume of kills in a short time. I hope that it stays for years to come, but with the safeguards in place to prevent the abuse for gold farming that has become so common after eoc.

Could blighted objects be a possible solution to ironman PvP?

Ironman risk hard to get objects in PvP and get no rewards from kills. Maybe receiveing the loot as blighted form and only being able to use it in the wilderness could solve both problems.
