Like I said before, an EP system or additional loot system is unlikely to pass a poll. This is why we are polling the mechanics and once they are in, we can look at how to incentivise it further.

If this is the reason, get in contact with video makers / live streamers to explain to their viewers why extra loot is REQUIRED for BH to not be dead content. You have a strong relationship with content providers with big audiences, use it.

Agreed.

untradeables being turned into gold/items etc is a very bad idea this is generating what doesnt exist which is not good for origional game untradeables being dropped on ground for you to come pick up is an incentive to having them which could be worked on later about conditions for looting and such but definitely not being converted into gold/items etc

@Mod Mat K

In all seriousness though. I do understand your point behind waiting to release rewards. In fact it's probably the best idea since most morons will vote no if they see any form of benefit coming from PKing. However, the issue at hand is how you release the base mechanics of it. The entire argument that people are pushing right now is that we need it to be how it was in 2010. You walk into the wilderness and if you're risking over 76,000GP in alch valued gear, then your EP percentage would start to increase 25% every 30 minutes. The higher your EP, the higher chance you had at having a good drop. At 100% EP, you got a target which gave even more loot due to it being your target.

This simple mechanic did have it's pros and cons, however way more pros than cons in terms of Wilderness activity . Wilderness activity is by far the most important aspect of this game whether you want to admit that or not. Without it, the game dies. This game doesn't have killer PvM content or boostable skilling to appeal to every one else, it has PKing. The sole reason this server was created so it'd revive what we lost to EoC.

That is what you need to focus on. Will the economy be effected if statuettes are implemented? Yes. Will the wilderness' population double? Yes. Which is more important? Prayer potions going from 16k each to 7k each, or seeing 30-40,000 people online once people return to the game knowing they can profit from PKing or even skilling if they're using their brawlers?

You underestimate how many people would actually come back or start to PK/go into the wilderness with this update. That's something you can't do.

As for the rewards, like you said it's going to be a challenge to get them accepted in. So for now, at least do the base mechanic like we used to have it and spend less time brainstorming a fix when it was obviously so successful in 2010. Don't fix what wasn't broken.

I wrote out a post on the last thread so I'm sure someone at HQ skimmed over it with the many others. I would just like to say I think that there is NO need to rush this update, we would rather have it refined than duct taped together. Creating separate BH worlds would divide the small community even further, as many on this thread are saying. I think the only hope of making BH thrive alongside existing pvp is to implement it into the same servers as a toggle option. We also should not have a teleport to target spell: as the second poster said, this would reduce the danger element of finding your target and navigating around other pkers. Again reiterating other posts from this thread, spending time in pvp zones will be more engaging than paying a NPC 10k in the edge bank. This update will never give everyone what they want, there are already a lot of people who would have preferred craters. I believe if it is done right, and targets can give exclusive loot or points, then we can find a balance that is equal and fair for everyone.

EP never had ANYTHING to do with Bounty Hunter. CUT IT OUT! BH worlds? REALLY? Don't even release it then. We already have PVP worlds. IF there are no craters my vote is a very easy no. I would never want bounty hunter without craters. You might as well make a worldwide duel arena on 10 worlds while you're at it.

Dead content on arrival.

And when rewards are implemented gg economy.

Don't make this too easy. It'll completely suck.

I haven't read everyone else's comments so sorry if I am repeating what many have already said.

Players need a motive to go and hunt down a target (previously it was for much better loot which we all know was fun, but costly to the economy).
Therefore, I suggest that some form of reward in terms of drops is added as a bonus. This could be a statuette or perhaps those old PvP armours that were degradable. This of course would be too damaging, which is why I would suggest killing your target should only give you a small chance of receiving a bonus item. This small chance could perhaps be dependent on the amount your target is risking, for example if they had the lowest form of skull over their head then the chance of receiving a bonus item would be very slim. This chance could then be increased in small increments for each tier of risk your opponent has.

I also believe that you should be able to get a target from staying in the wilderness for a period of time, like the old BH worlds. Otherwise my previous suggestion would still be abusable.
