Just a pointer, but didn't the center of the RS economy revolve heavily around the trading of rares, and the primary development of the community get centered around the legitimate players working together, & socializing together, ultimately to obtain rares?
I think a suggestion for this that my friends and I personally from the era after RSC and Devious Mud would've wanted to witness, wasn't that skilling ultimately could lead to a rare, but possibly- we could come across that exhilirating moment where we can obtain one without that huge disappointment factor that came afterward.
Example; when my friend Emperor Diaz was mining in RSC, and dashed for varrock to get a santa hat, but was never able to get one.
Which is where I believe that random events SHOULD, be a card put into play. Unlike the Squeal of Crap, DO NOT FIX IT- instead, leave it up 100% to the random number generator to determine when & OR what players get nabbed to just answer a question or simply respond like a true player to something, and be awarded a rare.
Not to get off topic, but I believe that Randoms put up an effort to hamper bots- and, lets say a new random event was made special for partyhats, that was controlled by- say for example, Mod Bibsy. Party Pete kidnaps (Jeremy321) in varrock bank. Appearing as an NPC, Bibsy (pete) is sitting in a chair before Jeremy321, trying to talk like the NPC.
He asks: Jeremy321, how do you feel about my hat? How do you feel about bots?
To which, Jeremy331 notices that he doesn't have a click option for his text. He replies with a short personal opinion, and is released with the cracker / hat.
Only something like this should be a suprise- DONT PUBLICISE what the development team creates, because many players love the emotional connection to the game that suprises yield. It's that feeling of, OH CRAP- how do I do this? OH COOL! That was easy, SWEET REWARD!
But certainly, what I said above needs a lot of thinking over.
