Rare Item Poll 1 (To run from midday from 11th April 2013 to midday 18th April)

1. Would you like rare items return in some form?
YES

2. If you vote for rare items to return, would you like the currently tradable rare items to remain tradable?
YES

Rare Item Poll 2 (To run from midday from 18th April 2013 to midday 25th April)

Which of these ways would you like rare items to be distributed? Each of these questions have a yes or no answer.

1. Distribute them using similar mechanics as you did before (dropping them, holiday events)
YES

2. Appear as a very rare reward from a treasure trails
YES

3. Distribute them through very rare monster drops
YES

4. Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a small amount of GP
NO

5. Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a large amount of GP
NO

6. Have them given out as rewards from community events
7. Give one of each rare item to every old school player
YES & NO

8. Have them appear as very rare drops when skilling
YES

9. Introduce new seasonal events for each of them
Strongly YESSSSSSSSS

MY comment on question 7. Ive been playing since 02 do I count? I find this fair in my case but unfair for people who never got the chance for these holiday events so at the same time no.

a rare is a category for both RSC & EoCscape...

with Old School the rare category does not have to mean that those items in this game have to be rare...you may not have your chance to own the items on EoC but for nostalgia sake you could have them in old school

Though while we're on the subject of rares...introduce the black party hat...the idea existed when party hats were introduced but were not put in game because they didnt seem "festive"

Of course. Back in the old days, owning a rare item was like getting a 99 on a skill. It's a way to show one's success in runescape.
2. If you vote for rare items to return, would you like the currently tradeable rare items to remain tradeable? yes.
3. How would you like rare items return?
To be honest, I think of something as simply as talking to a npc in varrock sq.

I totally agree with you, I think that is the best way to go about it. Doing it as it originally was done with the old holiday event or an updated one. Either way I would like to own a rare myself and let everybody have a chance to own one as well.

Above all, I think rares should be tradeable. This way, if the outcome is to implement them into the game via clue scrolls, level 3 skillers can simply accumulate enough gp (while training up skills, see where I'm coming from here) to buy these rares. In my opinion, I think they should be either dropped or be introduced via seasonal events. Although looking at the opinions of other people, I highly doubt 75% of us will vote for this. But once again, I do not see the point of untradeable partyhats/santa hats/crackers etc. because what else are you going to do with a massive cash stack? Buy whips repeatedly until you get bored? Tradeable rares add an incentive to getting loads of gp so that you can finally buy a precious rare and look badass. Without tradeable rares a massive part of the nostalgia of Old School Runescape would just disappear - and no matter what you will get people buying gold, botting - I think Jagex should focus on stopping these methods in the first place rather than trying to make it harder for them to get rares while hindering the nostalgia of legit players.
