I think it is better if the first poll would be split up like this:

1. Would you like tradable rare items return in some form?
2. Would you like untradable rare items return in some form?

And then answer the questions for the second poll separately for both tradables and untradables.

The third question is already a "in what form" question, in my eyes.

Fair enough argument, but, championship rings are only earned by a select few, and usually just 1 or so per career. I've earned partyhats in a day before, earned multiple rares by camping/slaying/merching/staking. They are easy to obtain with all these methods, the only reason they have value is because gp became very very easy to get in EoC and the rares are stockpiled.

In this game, they should not have value, but would as people would buy them out and pretend they are rare even more than they do on EoC.

Unless you want to have a few Phil Jacksons and Bill Russells with all the rings and everyone else being Kwame Brown, you don't want tradeable rares.

Hah I love your analogies.
Didn't want to delve into champion ship rings, but I just wanted to create a fair similarity.
EOC money is a joke. Ever since summoning came out, everything became easier and it was like making money on steroids. With a max cash stack, you cant really go past that value so there is a cap on money there. I don't know if they increased the cap in EOC but It seems like it would hold back from the true value of a rare.

Anyways, just trying to make a logical point as to who is entitled to a rare and why. The only thing i can think of is how long people have been playing and if they were present for these drops. (I'm considering the people that have played multiple accounts)
Everyone is entitled After the Fact . The distribution of rares should be based on how old the account is and which rares it qualifies for.

About max money, it only holds players back a bit, you can always trade items, the blue hat in my picture costed me a significant amount above max money. Haven't played modern rs in a while, but fairly sure the money cap is still intact.

I've been playing a long time, made my main account in 2001, this one was made around 2002, I don't think I deserve rares any more than the next player in 2007. Would be neat to have my bunny ears, but that wouldn't really be fair.

I think all currently tradable rare items should be untradable for the time being , as to prevent people earning millions from "luck"

The Rare Items should be accessable from :

-Clue Scrolls
-Boss Drops
-Events
-Special Sales
-Given By Jagex Moderators

My Views on Rares in 2007 Runescape

Question1:Yes, Personally i think rares make the game abit more fun, Especially as there isn't too many expensive items in old school runescape i think rares would be a nice thing for players to get.

Question2: Tradeable should remain tradable and Untradable should remain untradable, It's a good balance and it's what everyone knows.

Question 3: I reviewed all of the distribution options and not one of them really caught my attention completely.
You have to consider there is roughly a few hundred thousand active accounts on 07scape. If every player was given one the prices would be very unstable for rares. They have to be discontinued to even be counted as a rare in my eyes. People don't just like rares for the look, They like them for the value and accomplishment of saving up for one.

MY SUGGESTION

Evidently as time goes on more players will join 07scape and if You decide to keep it as no extra charges to play Old school runescape the number will only keep growing..
There are 15 tradeable rares listed. If you divide the number of active users on Oldschool by 3, then again by 15 this should determine how many of each rares you should release on average. All rares would be equally priced in this case so for The more expensive rares eg: crackers or partyhats divide this number again by 2 or 3 and with the less rare ones eg: h'weens, easter eggs etc times by two.
A reasonable method of distribution would be a two week period, previously announced to all players in which these can be obtained. There should be a huge event combining all the years of seasonal events in one and for each task you complete you are rewarded. A rare reward being a tradeable or untradable rare item.
At the end of the two weeks if not all have been distributed maybe release as rare clue scroll rewards at any level.
Please take this idea into consideration
Thanks, Chapz
