I'll certainly be voting 'no' on any form of rare in future polls.

Once tradeable rares come into the game, they shift the focus of RuneScape from adventuring, questing, training skills, killing bosses, etc to moneymoneymoney.
If they are untradeable, then there's no good way of introducing them in a fair manner that leaves them still desirable by players and worth the effort for mods to introduce.

I would rather see my level 3 skiller that got wrongfully banned on the 4th of April, get unbanned, as well as many other legitimate players who are now ac********, paying for a subscription they have been unjustly robbed of, instead of worrying about putting rares back in this game, which if I recalled right are worth thousands of real dollars.

I guess since EVERYONE is oldschool (from 2007), they're entitled to easily obtain what was dropped in 2001 and on. What type of flawed logic consumed your brain? Rares are meant to be rares for a reason. They call it a rare because its not easily obtained. These items became rare because people stopped playing and/or lost the items. Obviously it's like an NBA championship ring. Only a few people have it, and in a free market, these people could trade these rings. Except they won't trade it or put a very high price on it according to what it means to them.

Honestly, I bet they mostly don't want them, where as the people who never had them do want them, and would realize they didn't really want them once they get them.

That's because they don't really want the items. They want to feel 'special' because they have the items and someone else doesn't.

All of this stuff is why Jagex stopped making these items in the first place. And now we're going to make the same mistakes all over again?

They already started making more rare items such as the Christmas tree hat and the Fish mask, so i don't see why it matters now?

This is only thing missing from 07 for me, i want rares back how they was first put in.

If that cannot be done then do the option where everyone with a account on the sold school server gets one of each. They should also remain tradable.

1. Would you like rare items return in some form?

Yes, definitely, they're a part of RuneScape's history.

2. If you vote for rare items to return, would you like the currently tradeable rare items to remain tradeable?

No, rares were accidentally tradeable, so they all should be untradeable.

1. Distribute them using similar mechanics as you did before (dropping them, holiday events)

Yes, similar to the april fools with the eggs, phats etc. But once a player gets one of every type of rare, they are unable to get another. So if a player gets a blue phat, that player can't get another blue phat, but can get other coloured phats.

2. Appear as a very rare reward from a treasure trails

No

3. Distribute them through very rare monster drops

No

4. Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a small amount of GP

No

5. Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a large amount of GP

No

6. Have them given out as rewards from community events

No

7. Give one of each rare item to every old school player

No

8. Have them appear as very rare drops when skilling

No

9. Introduce new seasonal events for each of them

No

OTHER:

Why not make an interesting and fun quest that involves NPC's giving u these rares to do a task for them. Let the quest be accessible to anybody. Please? :)

Tbh I think that they should either have a store that sells these rares for a small amount of GP open for ONE day, or give everyone with a total level over 100 a rare. This way, everyone has a fair chance to obtain one and they won't be held ridiculously high for what they are. They'll still be "rare", but won't hold an insane price in the game.

Fair enough argument, but, championship rings are only earned by a select few, and usually just 1 or so per career. I've earned partyhats in a day before, earned multiple rares by camping/slaying/merching/staking. They are easy to obtain with all these methods, the only reason they have value is because gp became very very easy to get in EoC and the rares are stockpiled.

In this game, they should not have value, but would as people would buy them out and pretend they are rare even more than they do on EoC.

Unless you want to have a few Phil Jacksons and Bill Russells with all the rings and everyone else being Kwame Brown, you don't want tradeable rares.

No one should be thinking of returning rares, tradable or otherwise, until the bots and goldfarmers have been dealt with, as the rares will attract even more of them without some sort of intervention first....
You had to look, didn't you? This spoiler got scared and ran away, shame on you!
